Dean’s hand is on my upper thigh as he drives, and I like it there. “Do you want me to drive?” I ask him, stretching my arms to the roof. “Let me know if you’re getting tired, or if you want a break.”

“I’m fine,” he says, squeezing my thigh. “Do you want to stop and get something to eat or drink?”

“No, I’m good,” I tell him. I kind of need to pee, but I can wait until the next petrol stop.

When we get there, I check us in while Dean unloads the bags, then we walk to our room. Well at least I thought it was going to be a room. “You rented us a whole house?” I ask him as he unlocks the door and opens it for me to enter. I walk inside, and the place is absolutely stunning. Spacious, modern, and luxurious.

“This place is insane,” I say, looking around. “I can’t believe this is the place you chose.”

“I didn’t want us to run into a lot of people,” he explains, shrugging apologetically. “And I wanted you to stay in a beautiful place. You’ll get used to it.”

I roll my eyes, standing by his side and wrapping my arm around his waist. “Well, it’s definitely beautiful. I’m so excited to go diving!”

I love being in the water, and so does Dean. We could do this every day and I’d never tire of it. Swimming, eating, and then making love. I can’t imagine a better life. Because we’ve been friends for so long, it’s so comfortable to be around him, yet I don’t miss out on the butterflies and dreamy hazes that come with the start of something new. It’s so new right now, yet it feels as if I’m right where I’m meant to be. I don’t understand it, and I’m not going to try to anymore. If something makes me happy, I’m not going to be stupid enough to try and leave it.

“Me too,” he says. “I also can’t wait to see you in a bikini.”

“You’ve seen me in a bikini countless times,” I remind him, although the one I brought with me to wear during the trip is something particularly sexy, a new one I’ve never worn before.

“Yeah, I’ve seen you in a bikini,” he says, hands running over the curve of my arse. “But I’ve never been able to touch you before, or admire you closely without looking away before anyone notices.”

I glance up at him, my expression gentling. “Let’s consider this a first then,” I say, stepping up on my toes and kissing his lips. “I’m going to change into it, and then you can touch me all you want. And you can look all you want.”

He rests his hands on the small of my back. “I can’t fucking wait.”

He kisses me again, deeper, his tongue dancing with mine. We can’t keep our hands off each other, it’s crazy. It’s me who ends the kiss, flashing him a flirty, seductive smile before grabbing my bag and heading towards the bedroom.

He’s in for something special.

“Fucking hell, Sabina,” he growls, walking around me in a circle. It’s the first time I’ve opted for such a revealing set, but why the hell not? “Do you know how incredible you look? Fuck. You’re not wearing that in front of other men, so I hope you brought some shorts or something.”

I grin and do a little booty shake. “Relax, Dean. Aren’t we going out on a private boat? It will just be us again.”

And whoever is driving the boat. Is it called driving? Or maybe it’s steering. I have no idea.

He runs his finger down the middle of my breasts, over the bikini top and down to my belly button. “Do you know how beautiful you are? How sexy?” He kisses me then lifts me in the air, my legs coming around his waist. “Do you know how many songs I’ve written that have been about you?”

I still at that. “What? Really?”

He nods and walks to the couch, sitting down with me straddling him. “Listen to the lyrics, Sabina, because they’re all you.”

I know all of his lyrics, but never once did I think they had anything to do with me. Never. The song he sang in my living room last time, the one about unrequited love... why didn’t I see it then?

I guess I wasn’t ready to.

I know I wasn’t ready to.

I rest my forehead against his, looking into those mesmerizing green eyes. “I know all your lyrics. I know all your songs. I can sing them, word for word. I’ve always been your biggest fan, Dean, and I always will be, but never once did I think that I’d inspire you to write them about me.” I take a deep breath. “And some of them are really sad songs.”

“I think my next album will be much happier,” he says, kissing me softly. “I know it will be. Happier, sexier. More passionate, more crazy. More everything, because right now I’m just feeling. Everything.”
