Fighting the Call of the Wolf(3)

“I didn’t say—oh!” Aelius’s fingers threaded through Kyle’s hair and gripped him tight when Kyle put his lips around the dark head of Aelius’s dick and then sank his mouth down until he was deep throating the man.

The alpha’s grip on his hair hurt, but Kyle didn’t care. He wanted this, and now that he could feel the pulsing heat of Aelius’s cock inside of his mouth and the way that Aelius’s hips pushed back and forward, trying to get inside as deep as he could go, Kyle’s own body was starting to react. It was like he was getting physical pleasure just from sucking off the powerful man above him, and he moaned.

“Yeah, that’s it,” Aelius said. “Your mouth is so pretty around my cock.”

Aelius hissed as Kyle continued to move, and he moaned when Kyle gently played with his balls and the bit of skin that was between his sac and asshole. Kyle expected some pushback for that, but there was none.

That’s right. You’re never going to forget this, Kyle thought.

Neither was he.

Chapter Two

Five months later

“If you’re that hung up on the kid, then you should probably call him.”

Aelius gritted his teeth together, but because it was Conner, his alpha, that he was speaking with, he refrained from making some smart-ass comment about that. Instead, he spoke through clenched teeth and kept his fists tight. “He made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t want to see me.”

Conner crossed his arms over his chest. The man was naked, and so was Aelius. Nudity tended to be a common thing with werewolves, especially after they’d just finished shifting and running through the wooded property around the pack.

They were in their human forms now. So much easier to have this sort of talk when they didn’t have to rely on wolf growls and body language. It was cold out. Snow had finally started to fall as a late winter rolled around, but it wasn’t cold enough to do more than make their breath hang in the air. Neither of them was even shivering. But that might have more to do with their werewolf heat than anything else.

“Can you blame him for that?” Conner asked.

“Did you only bring me out on patrol so you could hound me about this?” Aelius demanded. “I fucked him. I said that was all I wanted, and he agreed to it. When I said I was willing to try to have a relationship with him, he was the one who turned me away.”

“Maybe because you avoided him for three months after that. I know if I were to spend the night with my mate and then refuse to look him in the eye for twelve weeks after that, he’d be pissed off, too.”

Aelius started to pace. “We live in different packs. It wasn’t like I could look him in the eyes anyway.”

“Stop being a stubborn asshole,” Conner said. “You know what I meant. You refused to take his calls. It wasn’t like he was hounding you. He called maybe once a week. He realized that it hurt to just spend one night with you, so he tried to offer an olive branch and you kept throwing it back at him.”

“Did Ty tell you that?” Aelius asked.

Conner glared at him. “Keep my mate out of this.”

That meant that he had. It made sense that one omega would better know the emotions of another. Conner must’ve asked his mate for advice on what was going on and how to deal with it. An issue like this might not seem like very much to some people, but in a wolf pack, the alpha had to know what was going on at all times. If there was a problem with one of his alphas that kept his mind focused off of his job, no matter how minor that problem was, then Conner would want to know about it.

Still, Aelius couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

“Just admit that you miss him,” Conner said. “It’s been five months, and when one of you is trying to contact the other, someone’s not on the same page.”

“Conner—”

“No, really. You avoided him, and now you know how much it sucks when he avoids you. Is the idea of being gay really that disgusting to you?”

“What? No!” Aelius said, shaking his head quickly. Conner’s mate, Ty, was a man. In fact, pretty much every alpha male in the pack was gay, along with most of the people in Mason’s pack as well.

“Then why were you so interested in denying Kyle?” Conner asked, and the man shook his head and shrugged. “None of us could figure it out, but we wanted to stay respectful so long as you were doing your job right.”

“It’s not that I think it’s disgusting,” Aelius said. “To be honest, maybe the idea of being with a man did freak me out a little. I like Ty and everything, but I never understood what your attraction to him was. I don’t know, I always thought my mate, the person who would carry my pups, would be a woman. I like women, and I have ever since I was a kid. Christ, I can’t even count the number of girls I’ve taken to bed over the years.”
