My Most Precious One(83)
“I’m sorry, if I brought you any discomfort.” She continued, I guess I couldn’t hide the face I had made.
“But Mr. Blakk is different since he met you, you are not her I can promise you that. To tell you the truth I think the Lukas I see now is the truest I have ever seen. I think he clung to Olivia for comfort.” I smiled not really meaning it.
“I understand you don’t need to make it better or make her sound unimportant to him.” She nodded and we both knew it was best that we end the discussion.
We went about our day I followed her with her grocery shopping, we laughed and joked I think she was trying to make it better somehow. The day became night and I was getting dressed to go out to dinner I think.
I had texted Lukas to know what to wear and he had given me specific instructions to wear a funky black dress that he had chosen. I walked into his closet and found it hanging waiting for me, when the hell did he have the time to do all this? I smiled, it was stunning. It had a tight corset with a design of clear gems on one side. The corset ended at the waist with layers of tulle that made up the rest of the dress. It was short in length and super funky. Next to them were a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti stilettos, they were eye catching with a metal pink finish with a matching purse. There was a small piece of paper attached to the purse, I unfolded it and it read.
Stop drooling over the shoes! The dress you have to love it took me a while to find something that screamed you, hurry up and get dressed… there are more surprises to come.
I heard a small knock at the door it was a woman dressed in black, her hair was sleeked back into a tight ponytail and she wore heavy black rimmed glasses. She had glamour written all over.
“Hi Lexi. I’m Amy I’m here to do your makeup and hair.” She smiled. I jumped up and almost danced. Well I did dance you have to in these instances, this occasion called for it. She laughed.
“I’m assuming you’re excited?” I stopped my little dance and looked at her “yes, yes I am.” I continued my little tap dance.
“Go take a shower and we’ll get started.”
Mrs. Thatcher had come upstairs to keep me company as I got ready. I walked out of the bedroom and Jacob was there waiting.
“Well, look at you?” He said with a smile. “You look good.” Mrs. Thatcher hit his arm.
“Careful Jake if Lukas hears you speak like that he’ll fire you.” Jacob just shrugged.
“Come on let’s go, I’m told to take you to the company building downtown.”
We were driving through Manhattan as I peered out the window of the car, awestruck by all the buildings and famous landmarks I was seeing. I couldn’t believe that I was here in New York, here in this car; in this dress driving to meet my man that nearly owned more money and had more power than anyone I had ever known. Jacob stopped the car and stepped out; I watched as he walked over to my side and stood flanking the car. I rolled down the window and looked up to see a high rise building made completely of glass. I watched as suit after suit left the building, all in different conversations, busy with the day’s wheelings and dealings. God New York had a different feel than Montreal.
Finally Lucas appeared talking to an older gentleman, they both laughed as their assistance took notes.
“He owns this?” I asked thumbing towards the mammoth building.
“He owns more than just that but yeah, he owns this.” Lukas finished with whatever meeting he was having and started towards the car, nodding to Jacob when he saw him. Jacob opened the door and held out his hand for me to take as I stepped out of the car. Lukas stood a few feet back, his eyes took measure of me, he waited and finally smiled but this smile was far from being sweet, it was devious and delicious. I nearly fell over. He had changed into a crisp black suit with a pure white shirt and a black tie.
“Come here.” He said in the sultriest voice I had ever heard.
“You look… you look fucken amazing.” He licked his lips and I finally understood what the fascination was, I wanted to lick and bite his lips. God he was so enticing to look at.
“Are you ok to walk?” He asked as he placed his hand on my lower back “Yes, I am.” I said nearly stammering my words.
“Come then there’s a store I want us to go to before we head out to dinner.”
We walked and Lukas actually told me about his day, not all of it but some parts and it was really rather interesting. He laughed at some of my observations and said he’d try to use some of my tactics for his next meeting.
“Are you making fun of me?” I asked as I elbowed him in the gut.
“On the contrary, you’re really smart when it comes to money and business. To tell you the truth I’m surprised.” He had stopped and waited.
