When You Know It’s Real(42)
A smirk spread across his face as he placed his hand on the small of my back. His touch was firm but gentle, and I couldn't ignore the way it had me feeling.
“Yeah, aight. Let's go sit down. We have a table already, but I decided to stay here and wait for you myself.”
“I didn't take you for the gentleman type,” I said, looking over my shoulder and noticing that his eyes were on my body as I moved in front of him.
“Baby, that’s all I know how to be.”
Once we got to the booth, he held his hand up and waited for me to slide in. I assumed he would sit across from me, but nope. His sexy ass slid in right next to me and leaned back with his arm across the back of the booth while his tongue glided across his lips. Damn, I need him to quit that shit.
“Ummm, you might need to move over there.” I pointed to the empty bench across from us.
“Why is that? You can't handle the pressure? I’ll behave. You have my word. Remember, I’m a gentleman.” He leaned in close to my ear and his deep heavy voice whispered, “But if you want me to fuck you, I will.”
As if he were the keeper of my body, his words opened my flood gates and I thought I was going to lose it. This was a bad idea and I knew it.
“Laken, I think you have the wrong idea. I’m not interested in any of that with you. This is supposed to be about business, so if you don't mind, please take a seat over there and we can get started.”
I slid my body away from his and waited. His arrogant ass grabbed my face and forced his tongue into my mouth, causing me to cream again. When he was done, he got up and moved like I asked him to. Once situated, he leaned back with his eyes locked on mine and a smirk plastered on his face.
“You’re interested, Nonie. Shit, you’re damn near sold on the idea, but I’ll play your game if you want to. But, trust me baby, you want me just as much as I want you. I get what I want, do you?”
I ignored him and tried my best to keep calm and slow my pulse. Thank goodness the waiter appeared to get our orders, because I was on the verge of losing my religion after that kiss. Laken and I ordered and started discussing his event. I talked and he watched, looking at me like he was already fucking me into a coma. There was something about the way his eyes moved across my body that had me feeling things that he could do, and he hadn't even touched me. Lord, help me. I was in trouble.
Siah
I stood in front of Fresh Catch, waiting on Karen to get her files out the car. It was time for my monthly evaluation of my accounts, and she worked hard, so I usually treated her to dinner while we handled business. Karen was cool as hell, and yeah we fucked around a little in the beginning, but she started catching feelings so I shut it down. Now, things were strictly business. I knew she would easily accept more, but I wasn't going there with her. I paid her well, so she accepted her role and did a bomb ass job of managing my money.
“Okay, I’m ready, sorry.” Karen rushed in, gripping a leather brief case, while looking right into my eyes because she was attempting to read my mood.
My time was very important to me and she knew that, so I was sure that she was anxious about making me wait.
“You're good, Karen.” I placed my hand on her back and we waited for our hostess to lead us to our table. The second we reached the center of the restaurant my damn mood moved from zero to one hundred when I laid eyes on Nonie grinning and smiling at that nigga, Laken. I had to be seeing shit, because there was no way she would be in here sharing a meal with a nigga that she knew would put a bullet in my head and not think twice about it.
“Siah, what's wrong?”
I was so caught up in what I was seeing that I hadn't realized I was standing with my fists clenched, jaw tight and chest heaving in and out, until I heard Karen say my name.
I ignored her and made my way over to their table and slid into the booth right next to Nonie. Her damn eyes looked like they would pop out of her head because they stretched so wide. The second I threw my arm around her shoulder and kissed her neck, she damn near stopped breathing.
“The fuck is this shit, Pretty?”
Laken was a cocky nigga like me, so he kept his cool and didn't say shit, but he kept his eyes on me, his jaw tight, and face clearly showing his agitation. Fuck him though, he was in my city, with my girl, unannounced and without permission.
“What are you doing here?” Fumbled out of her mouth, which struck a nerve.
“Business, now what the fuck is this?” I asked again, this time with a little more aggression.
“Business,” Laken said and then chuckled.
I cut my eyes at him and then looked at Nonie again.
“I'm pretty sure I purchased a building where she has an office for business purposes. So this shit right here ain't business, my nigga, and I damn sure wasn't talking to you.”
