Undone by Her Two Masters(27)

While they were waiting for their orders to be served, Nevis asked, “What’s going to happen with our meals back in Pine Corner?”

“I’m not all that good at cooking. I can zap frozen meals in the microwave though, and I’m happy to bring back pizza or whatever else you send me for,” said York.

“I can cook, but often by the end of the day I can’t be bothered. But yeah, I’m happy to go out as often as anyone wants. I agree you shouldn’t become Henrietta Housewife just because you’re the female in the group,” said Bronx.

“I can cook, and don’t mind doing it, but have no intention of becoming a household drudge. I want to be a contributing partner to the company, not stuck at home cleaning and cooking all the time. How about this? Bronx cooks on Saturday and Sunday, which shouldn’t be as jam-packed full of work for him as during the week. I’ll do Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and York can fetch pizza or we’ll eat out Tuesday and Thursday. Also, York has to wash the dishes one day a week for me, and once every second weekend for Bronx, since he’ll never have to wash them for himself.”

“That’s fair. I can do a laundry run for you every couple of weeks as well. I don’t mind sitting and watching the clothes go round and round in a dryer while I read a book.”

“Oh, excellent.” Nevis reached over to kiss him just as the server arrived with their food.

“It’s been fun doing this road trip, but it’ll be good to be back at the hotel again. How long will it take us to set up the trailer?” Nevis asked.

“We can likely organize most of it as we drive home this afternoon. Until the extension is done on the trailer we really only need one set of furniture. I want my office furniture, and my bed is bigger than yours, so we’ll use it for now, unless we decide to buy a bigger one, but other than that, you can choose, Nevis.”

As she ate she thought about Bronx’s apartment and the things she’d seen as they packed his boxes and loaded up Animal. “I suppose a lot of things should stay packed up until the extension is done, really. We don’t need everything out at once, and it’d be better to have less furniture and more space to move around. If we find we really need something we can always unpack it.”

Home. They were going home. Pine Corners already felt like home even though they’d only lived there such a short time. But she was committed to the community and to making the new transportation company work. And to the men. I’m committed to seeing if York and Bronx are the right men for me. Already I can’t imagine leaving them but I need to give us time to really get to know one another. Not that I think either of them is going to suddenly turn into a machete murderer.

York stared at the double-wide trailer. The past two weeks had been a hectic time of meeting the locals and getting the transportation business set up. All the new signage was up. He’d just painted their new deck out front and his next job was to go through Bronx’s furniture in their warehouse and find a coffee table and some chairs to put on the deck.

The concrete for the bedroom extension had been poured when the post holes were done for the fence, and the work crew was coming tomorrow to assemble the frame for the living room and bedroom extensions.

Having their own washer and dryer would save them money in the long run, so they were thinking of installing them in the warehouse along with a second, much bigger shower, and a toilet.

Oh yeah, and he had his real computer job to do in the evening. York sighed. It was a miracle he had enough energy for sex. But he did. He always did. One glance at Nevis’s naked body and no matter how exhausted he was, his dick was ramrod straight and ready for action.

He sat on the top step of the trailer, listening to Bronx’s voice rumbling in the background. Bronx had spent several mornings visiting all the businesses in town, talking about the transportation services, and leaving business cards and a brochure York had made for them advertising Hot Springs Transportation. They’d had a bunch of enquiries but no actual jobs yet.

Right now Nevis was down at the local newspaper office buying them some advertising space for the advertisements he’d drawn up. He’d made three that ran almost as a story, to go in three successive newspapers. He’d spent quite a lot of time planning and developing them, so he hoped they brought in some customers. Of course, Master Kingston, the Alpha of their pack and the CEO of the pack business, was well aware that a new branch would be running at a loss for a while, but hey, even one genuine customer would be a start.

He stood up, stretched, and crossed the parking lot to the warehouse. Now that the workmen were gone it’d be good to have the big rig out, acting as an attraction. He opened the warehouse doors wide, climbed into Animal and started the engine, reversing carefully out through the entry then going back and forth until Animal was prominently displayed in front of the warehouse. York jumped out of the cab, locked Animal, and went back to close the warehouse doors. They kept the people door unlocked during the day, so they could collect anything they needed from the warehouse, which was acting like their storeroom right now, but the big vehicle doors stayed closed.
