She Fell For A Boss(8)

“The fuck is your problem? You wanna lose your scholarships?” Miego yelled as he grabbed a fist full of his brother’s jersey and pulled him to his chest so they were face to face.

Tron and Miego were the same height, but Miego had him by about twenty pounds of muscle, thanks to the extra weight lifting time that jail had provided. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. Tron knew better than to challenge his big brother or he would wear an ass whooping for it. The two brothers had fought enough times to know who would ultimately win. Although Tron would go toe to toe with Miego, there was no doubt that Miego would win.

“No, but that nigga put his hands on me. I ain't no bitch, Miego. The fuck you expect me to do? Just take that shit?”

“In here, on that court, hell yeah. Those refs and these coaches hold your future in their hands. One stupid mistake and all that shit is gone. Everything you worked for.” Miego aggressively tapped his brother’s forehead with his index finger. “Use your fucking head, man. That nigga ain't worth it. He ain't got shit to lose, but he knows you do. Think about your son.”

“Tron’s nostrils flared and his chest heaved in and out. He knew his brother was right, but it didn't mean that he was okay with the way Miego was handling him.

“Man, fuck that,” Tron yelled and then tried to walk away, but Miego jacked him up again by his jersey. “Calm your ass down. You know I’m right. Now go finish this game or take your ass to the locker room.”

Tron glared at his brother before he knocked his hand away from his jersey and went to join his team. His coach had been watching the entire time, but he knew Miego and respected him enough to let him handle his brother.

Both teams set up on the court and finished the rest of the game without incident. After the game, Miego hung back and waited for his brother after his sister left with a guy she swore wasn't her boyfriend, but who she damn sure seemed to spend a lot of time with. Train chilled with him for a minute until a shorty caught his attention, and then he was out. Miego was posted up outside the locker room with one of his old fuck buddies cozied up next to him, hoping that she was about to get lucky. But all Miego was interested in at the moment was getting his brother out of the gym before he had a chance to do anything stupid.

“What are you about to get into?” Lee Lee asked as she let her hand move up and down Miego’s arm.

“My damn bed.”

Lee Lee grinned, thinking it was an offer, so Miego quickly cleared that up.

“Alone,” he said and slid his body further down the wall to create some distance between the two of them.

Just as he did, the first thing he noticed was shorty with the fucked up attitude. She frowned at him and he winked at her. She rolled her eyes and Miego chuckled before blowing her a kiss. Shorty turned to walk off, but because she was so focused on trying to show Miego her disapproval, she ran right into the back of her homegirl who had stopped to talk to someone. Embarrassed, she blushed, which Miego found to be cute as hell.

Lee Lee was pissed. “Yami ain't fucking with nobody but her man, so you might as well let that go.”

Lee Lee knew she was being petty, but she didn't care. She wasn't about to let Miego stand there and disrespect her by sweating another female. Especially not Yami. She hated Yami because they were all from the same hood, but Yami and her sister, Yaz, thought they were better than everyone else around there.

Actually, neither Yami or Yaz felt that way. They just wanted more out of life than just some hood nigga and a few stacks, but it was easier for the neighborhood chicks to hate on them instead of respecting the fact that they believed there was more to life than being hood rich.

Miego looked down at Lee Lee with a smirk. He knew she was hating on shorty, and the fact that she was, had him really checking his mystery girl. Plus, Lee Lee’s assertion that he couldn't get her because of who her man was, presented a challenge that made him even more interested. Miego was too arrogant to ask who she was because he wasn't the type to sweat anybody. Shorty was bad as fuck, but he wasn't about to chase her. If he ran into her again, though, he planned to bring her into his circle whether she liked it or not.

Chapter Two

“So, you really can't smoke this shit?”

Miego looked up at Train and laughed because Train was looking at him like the world was about to end. “Nah, I can't, not right now anyway. You know they got me on lock with these damn drug tests. If I fail one, they’re locking my ass up, no questions asked. TK’s sister is a PO now, and as soon as I can get my case switched to her, I’ll be straight. She’ll hook me up, but for now, I have to do shit the right way.”
