Pure Punishment(54)

Her eyes used to be a beautiful green and Kayla’s were a beautiful blue. Now, when I look into her eyes, the green is still prominent, but I can see the blue in there as well. I don’t ever worry what will happen, I trust both girls. I don’t see Kayla making an appearance any time soon as she hasn’t for quite some time.

I understand now why she had to leave and why she was gone for so long. I tried to cope with it, I really did, but I’m not strong enough without her in my life. She came in like wrecking ball and smashed everyone to pieces and no one could live up to her.

So now, as I sit in our backyard surrounded by family and watch her smile, I know my life is complete. The fuckups won't mean shit compared to her. I could lose an arm and, if I came home to her every night, I would die a fucking happy man. Some say it’s impossible to fall in love at first sight, some believe it. Well, I’m here to tell you it’s the best, most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me.

One day I will tell her that it was her parents that took away the life of my parents, the same night hers left her, but I don’t know when. I’ve watched her all her life, wanting to know something that resembles the pure evil that was her father. I thought I did when I saw Kayla, though that wasn’t the truth either.

Some people come into our lives either as a blessing or a curse.

She is my blessing that came from my curse.

She is my love.

She is my Pure Punishment.
