Maizy the Bear Charmer(Diving Creek Ranch 16)(69)

He held her close as his heart thumped, savoring her gift, and he cupped her jaw as he kissed her and whispered back, “I love you too, Maizy.”

Her smile glowed and she closed the short span between them and kissed him again, sliding her hot tongue against his in a sensual dance. He could taste himself on her tongue and he groaned as a lingering wave of ecstasy washed through him, loving that she was gutsy and bold enough to swallow his cum. When he released her lips, she said, “I enjoyed that. I worried that I might not be doing it well, but I liked it. I felt…”

“What, baby? You can tell me,” he said as he cupped her cheek. He wanted her to feel precious and to know he was grateful. His body tingled with the release and his muscles softened into melted butter.

Her cheek was warm as she rubbed it against his hand. “I felt powerful, to be able to do something for you that felt that good. Especially after what the three of you did for me tonight. I was filled with guilt for taking from all three of you and not giving back. You really don’t need to treat me like porcelain, you know?”

“That instinct is hard to overcome. We looked for you for a long time. Give it time. Buckle up, baby,” he added as he looked in the mirrors checking for vehicles. “Time to get you home, before Mrs. Simpson gets worried.”

“Mrs. Simms. And she’s a nice lady. She’s a little nosy but she likes me. If she sees that you make me happy, she’ll like you, too. I don’t think she ever liked Chaz.”

“Good. That makes me like her right back.”

She had her keys ready when he walked her to her front door and he murmured, “I’ll say good night right here, baby.”

Maizy nodded and smiled. “I’ll dream about you tonight.”

He hugged her, burying his nose in her fragrant hair, and murmured, “Same here.” She looked up at him with trusting eyes and he whispered, “I love you.” The words felt so damned good to say, more satisfying than he could imagine. Maybe that was because he could see his joy reflected in her sweet honey-colored eyes.

“I love you, too, Spencer.”

The ride home flew by and it was impossible to wipe the big grin from his face when he walked back into the house.

Heath came walking out from the bedrooms, rubbing his hair with a towel, having taken his second shower of the night. He took one look at Spencer and said, “I knew it!”

Cody stood up from the fridge where he’d bent down to get another beer and squinted at Spencer. His hair was damp as well. Both men looked much less tense and he had to assume they’d both rubbed one out in the shower, which is what he would’ve done.

Spencer smiled and held up his hands in surrender. “Maizy is very persuasive. She wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

“Damn.” Heath flopped down on the couch and started flicking through channels and then grinned. “I’ve got her all to myself tomorrow night, too.”

Cody slapped Spencer on the back and said, “She’s a giver. I wouldn’t be able to resist long either.”

Spencer laid back in the love seat and said, “She told me she really enjoyed doing that for me…and she meant it.” Heath and Cody nodded in agreement and lifted their beer bottles in toast to Maizy and then put them to their lips. “She swallows, too.” Both men choked and beer spewed on the coffee table and he said, “I’m not cleaning that up.”

Chapter Sixteen

Maizy’s students gasped in wonder when she answered the knock on her classroom door early on Monday morning. The school secretary peeked in, and then stepped into the doorway with a large, colorful flower arrangement. In a singsong voice she said, “You have a delivery, Miss Owen.”

The fragrance of what looked like two dozen full-bodied roses in bloom, in shades of hot pink, orange, and bright yellow quickly filled the air. She smiled as she sniffed them, her cheeks feeling very hot as the school secretary watched her, curiosity obvious in her eyes and said, “I didn’t know you had a beau.”

Maizy could not believe the woman had brought that up in front of her students.

“Oooooooh! Miss Owen!”

“Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Can I smell?”

“I would kiss my boyfriend if he sent me flowers!” Ruby squealed as they all crowded around to see.

“Yuck!” one of the boys crowed and then snickered when Ruby stuck her tongue out at him.

Maizy thanked the secretary and carried the arrangement in the squat, round vase to the desk and removed the cardholder. The rose stems were cut shorter and the blossoms were clustered closely together, giving an inverted bowl effect with just a touch of greenery around the edges.
