Love at Stake (Entangled Covet)(72)

She wasn’t sure she believed him, but held her tongue.

He drove into her at the same time he struck. His fangs sank deep into her throat but the pain was fleeting.

Instead of discomfort, every sensation increased. Every thrust, every brush of his fingers across her skin, was heightened until her cells were overloaded with pleasure. Her head thrashed side to side as she struggled to handle the new flood of sensation. She couldn’t concentrate on anything but the feelings he inspired. The rest of the world fell away until there was only the man in her arms.

He thrust into her again and her cry shook the apartment. Dimly she heard herself begging for more but she didn’t care. Never in her life had she experienced such an intense rush.

She’d been an idiot to doubt him.

“Lucian,” she panted. “Please.”

More, she thought, wrapping her arms around his shoulders for purchase, just a little more.

Lucian surged into her faster and faster, drawing on her throat in time with his thrusts. Wordless cries escaped her. She pressed against him in desperation, needing release.

Then with a final thrust she broke apart in his arms. The climax was sweeping, crashing down on her with such intense pleasure the room tilted before her eyes. Lucian drank more deeply and as long as his fangs were in her throat, her climax rolled on. Waves of pure pleasure washed over her. She writhed under her lover, wishing the intensity would never stop.

Lucian stiffened over her and his fangs left her throat. He came with a shattering roar.

Abbey gasped for breath as he collapsed above her. Tremors shook her body in the aftermath of her explosive orgasm.

It took her two tries before she was able to form words.

“You need to do that every day for the rest of our lives.”

A chuckle escaped him as he rolled off of her and pulled her against his chest. “Deal.”

“I had no idea,” she whispered, not even sure she was making sense but needing to convey her amazement.

“I told you there was a reason women wanted vampire lovers.”

“Well yeah. I didn’t realize I was passing up on the world’s greatest orgasms.”

“Abbey,” he said, putting a finger to her lips.

“Quiet time?” she said around his finger.

Her lover grinned.

“Just one last thing.” She kissed his slick collarbone. “I love you.”

Close as she was, there was no mistaking the tremor that shook him.

“And I you,” he vowed, his voice rough. “Forever.”

“And Lucian?”

He smiled, looking at her indulgently. “What?”

“I won.”

He arched a brow in question.

“When we first met, you bet me I wouldn’t be able to find your mate in a month. Time doesn’t run out for three more days. Game, set, and Fated Match, my friend. We win.”

His laughter filled the room as he pulled her close. “I concede,” he said. “You did find my match. And I will be forever grateful for it.”

She looked up into his happy face.

“My beautiful, wondrous mate,” he whispered before crushing his lips to hers.

She met his kiss and knew she’d never get tired of lying in his arms.

They were a perfect match.
