Ladies Man (Manwhore #4)(81)
It’s not just the words, but the way he says them and the way he looks at me, that make my eyes water. “Whatever I say now will pale in comparison,” I say.
“It won’t pale.”
“Yes, it will pale,” I say.
He looks at me questioningly, his lips curling at the corners while his eyes darken somberly. “Just tell me you love me.”
“I love you.” I fling my arms around him, then recover and lift my champagne glass in a toast. “To my guy. May he win every game he chooses to play, have many reasons to laugh, more successes than he can remember, and as long as he loves me, always have me.”
His eyes darken with emotion. We clink glasses, he drinks, and I drink, and as I set my glass aside, and he sets aside his, Tahoe grabs the back of my head in one wide hand and we kiss long and slow as he rolls me to my back and loves me again, too drunk on each other to want anything else.
