ZERO(The Skulls, 6)(12)

By:Sam Crescent

The doctor stared at him for several minutes and then left. Grabbing the chair in the far corner Zero dragged it toward the bed.

“Hey, Prue. I’m here. Nothing is going to happen to you.” He kept talking to her, holding her hand tightly.

He’d failed her again. Something wasn’t right. Prue never panicked. Even when her parents died, she hadn’t panicked.

“The Skulls know everything. They’re going to help us, baby.” Cutting off his speech, he tried to fight back the sudden need to cry.

Fuck, he wasn’t a pussy, and he refused to cry. Prue and his club needed him strong. Breaking down and crying wasn’t going to solve any of the problems he now had.

Sitting back in his chair he thought about Trevor. Since they were little they had taken care of Prue. Where his parents didn’t give a fuck about him, Prue and Trevor’s parents had been the opposite. The fatal shooting that had taken their lives had hit the brother and sister hard. Zero had been there to help them both heal. At the time Prue had been a mere fifteen years old. A teenager, dealing with all kinds of shit, then her parents’ death on top of that, and she’d survived it all. Trevor didn’t want to send her to care, but he also didn’t have the first clue how to look after or protect her.

Rubbing at his temples, Zero remembered so many fond memories with all of them. Three weeks after their parents’ funeral Trevor had been drunk out of his face and Prue was having nightmares. Zero’s parents didn’t give a fuck about him, and being over eighteen he didn’t need to stay with them. Most of his time was spent at Trevor’s, where he could take care of the two people who meant the world to him.

When his sporadic visits no longer helped, Zero started staying at their house all the time to give them much needed support when he could. Prue had been so scared, screaming in her sleep. Zero recalled walking into her bedroom, wrapping his arms around her. She jerked awake fighting him. Throughout the fight he held onto her, calming her down.

“I hate them, Lucas. I hate them for leaving me.” She cried, holding onto him as she sobbed her heart out.

“I know, honey. I know. We’re going to be here for you.”

“I’m scared.”

“There’s no need to be scared. I’m here, and while I’m here Trevor will never do anything stupid. Your brother loves you.”

At the time he’d kissed her head and stayed with her, falling asleep with his arms wrapped around her. In the morning, he’d been gone before she could wake up. For several months after the funeral he ended up spending a lot of time in her bed until the nightmares stopped.

Zero also recalled missing the feel of her as she slept when it stopped. He’d cut that yearning shit out. Fifteen year old Prue was not ever going to be in his fantasies. But staring at her now, he couldn’t deny the beauty she’d turned into.

She was always so smart, beautiful, and had a fun wit about her. Growing up Prue had been a bit of a tomboy, preferring to get dirty with them than dressing it up with makeup.

“Come on, Prue. Fight this,” he said.

Around four he left her side to grab himself a coffee. He stood at the vending machine, rubbing his eyes. Zero was so tired, but he forced himself to stay awake. Blaine had gone home. He didn’t see the point to the both of them being without sleep. The only person capable of calming Prue down was him.

“Hey,” a feminine voice said.

Glancing to the side he saw a beautiful, short haired blonde dressed in a nurse’s outfit.

“Hey,” he said, lifting the Styrofoam to his lips. Zero knew what she was after. Her gaze kept going to his leather cut then traveling down his body to land at his crotch. “Honey, what do you want?”

She pressed a hand to his chest, glancing around. The reception area was empty, which was strange. A hospital should have plenty of staff, right? The lights were dimmed, and the dark night showed outside. The hospital felt eerie to him considering it was supposed to be a comfortable place to make people better.

“I was wondering how I could attract a Skull? I’ve been curious about you for years.”

Zero hadn’t fucked a woman in a long time. The last woman he was with was on the night he, Steven, and Killer were having a drink. Since then his sex life had consisted of him thinking about Sophia while beating off with his fist. Fuck, he was feeling horny. The nurse’s tits were large and her body tight. Putting his full coffee into the trash, he grabbed her hand and led the nurse to the nearest bathroom. He stormed into the female bathroom, which was empty. Going into the nearest stall, he yanked the nurse inside.

“Please,” she said, moaning.
