Wolfe's Den (Wolfe Creek Book 1)(13)

By:C.M. Steele

We all got into position. Creed had sprayed us with something that would  mask our odor so Rocky would only get a slight whiff of our scent and  think we were still far out. Gage and Creed were going to break through  the front and Smith and I were going through the back.

As the moon rose, I shifted and wasted no time smashing the door down.

Stay calm and hide, love.

Just as I came through the back, Creed and Gage rushed through the front  and gunfire opened up. I heard a howl as Creed fell to the floor.

I snarled and ran after Rocky. I caught his arm just as he swung around  to fire at me, sending the gun flying out of his hands, but not before I  felt the burn of the bullet hit my chest. He managed to kick me off and  shift.

He snarled at me and I couldn't focus on anything else but him. He hurt  my mate, I felt her pain when she hit the wall and her sobs as she  panicked. Rocky was going to pay for putting his hands on her.

I'm fine, love. You need to hide. There was no way I was going to let  her know how bad it was. I didn't have all my strength, so he was going  to get an even fight.

I lunged at his neck, but he was prepared and moved in time for me to  get caught in the ribs from his heel. I howled, and that's the moment  that everything changed.

Before I knew what was happening, I heard my mate howl loudly. I turned  to look at her and Rocky made his move, lunging at my throat. He just  made contact before he was thrown off me and into an old oak dining  table. I heard the crack of his bones and his howling whimper.

I saw my beautiful Cat, as a tiny wolf with the most perfect eyes.

I've got this, my love. Please step back. I lunged at Rocky this time and didn't miss, slowly ripping his throat out.

I felt her snout rub against my neck softly before licking my jaw. I absorbed her love and strength.

I love you, Hunter. Thank you for finding me.

Thank you for saving me.

There's no me without you.

Me either, my Cat.

I heard the howls erupt from Smith and Gage as they looked down at the body of Creed.

We all started to bay at the moon, mourning and calling to our brothers and sisters of the pack to unite.

"There are several changes of clothes in my car. I'll be back with them for you all," said Smith.

"Thank you, Smith," I muttered. He was smart because I didn't want  anyone to see my mate unclothed. It didn't matter that they couldn't  have her. It was just my possessive nature where she was concerned.

Chapter 9-Hunter

"Damn, you're a strong old coot," I said as I entered Creed's hospital room.

"Don't be jealous because I'm badass even though I'm not an Alpha."

"That's hard to believe considering all that you do and are."

"We all can't be Alpha. I was selected as the historian. Hopefully one day soon I'll find my replacement."

"You're ready to kick the bucket? What about Maggie?"

"She's way past waiting for me to croak. Her old bones can't handle my stiff one anymore," he joked.

"Shut up, you nutty bastard. You're not leaving me anytime soon," Maggie  snapped as she entered the room with a sheen of tears in her eyes.

"I'll talk to you later, and give you a proper introduction to my missus  once you're feeling better and get a shave. She can't see you looking  like some scary beast," I teased.

"You better, you scruffy pup."

I left the hospital into the darkness in search of my mate. I could smell her, but it seemed she was in a playful mood tonight.

I followed her scent into the nearby woods. If she thought she could  hide from me she was wrong. I worshipped her scent, and even with her  ability to block her thoughts from me now, I could still feel her.

Bad Cat. Just wait until I get you, my mate. You'll be in trouble.

She just giggled.

Big mistake.

I pounced on my bride and she gave a slight bark before I bit down on  her back and pushed my cock into her from behind. I fucked my sexy wolf  over the edge of the pond, the moonlight illuminating her hazel eyes in  the reflection.

I howled as I rutted into her furry bottom. As much fun as fucking her like this, I preferred her womanly curves.

Shift, love.

We do whatever the Alpha says.

She pulled away from me and ran along the edge of the pond before  shifting and jumping in. I snarled and gave chase, shifted and joined  her naked ass into the cold water. She laughed as she rushed out of the  other side and laid down, looking up at the stars. Her chest heaving as  the water glistened off her round breasts.

"I'm going to spank you for that woman. You think now that you can shift  that I'm going to let you get away with shit like this. You're lucky  I'm always horny for you because that water was fucking cold, and my  dick was about to go into full hiding, but I've got a much better way of  warming him back up to full staff. Sit up, Cat," I growled as I eyed  her mouth.

"Yes, Alpha," she agreed. I walked the rest of the way up to her and  pushed my way through her parted lips. She sucked my cock down past her  tonsils and I was about to shoot off right then and there. She started  to pant in hungry heat, so I pulled my stiffened length out of her  swollen lips. Kneeling, I pushed her all the way to the soft grass and  kissed her mouth.

I love you, my Cat.

I love you, my Hunter.

Getting into position I parted her thighs and pushed my way in. She felt  wonderful. Her pussy sucked me in and squeezed as her orgasm built up  to her peak.

She let out a sexy cry as she came on my cock, clawing at my back in the  process. I groaned as I pulled her mouth to mine and pumped my cum into  her sweet cunt.

We laid there until we both chilled, then got dressed and sat under the  moon. In the past month, this had become our special place. It was near  the hospital but secluded enough that no one saw my wife naked.

We found this place by accident after I got out of the hospital. It was  two days after the incident when she wanted to take a walk with me. I  wanted to show her that I was just fine and that I was in full form and  took her down right at the embankment. Ever since then, we made it our  spot.

We came here once a week to the Lakeland Prairie hospital to check on  Creed's recovery. He'd been in a coma for the past month after being  shot in the head. I was so grateful that he finally woke up this  morning. It was touch and go every day, and my wife was hurting because  she felt it was her fault. Of course it wasn't, but it still got to her.

"So sweetheart, how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling perfect, Hunter. Everything is just right. You're healthy  and back to normal, Creed is going to live, and I'm expecting. It's  wonderful."

"Expecting?"

"Oh, did I forget to mention it?"

"Damn, was I too rough with you right now? Should you be shifting?"

"Relax, Hunter. I've already seen a specialist about it. Soon my body  won't shift at all until the pups are born. Right now the babe is too  small to know."

"Fuck, you're right. It's wonderful."

The following day we came back to the hospital to check on Creed and his  recovery. Gage came with us for the trip. He felt Creed saved his life  that day. When he entered the house, Creed pushed my little bro out of  the way.

"Hey old man, you're looking good today," I cheered as we entered the room.

Creed was sitting up in his bed with a small knowing smile when he saw my lovely Cat.

"I was told I couldn't meet your enchanting mate until I wasn't looking like an animal," he mocked.

"You didn't?!" she gasped at me. I gave her a shrug before snarling at  Creed. The old man was looking to get me in trouble with her.

"It's okay, Catherine. Come here so I can see you better," he murmured like the big bad wolf.

"Please, you old craggy man," Maggie chuckled as she walked in behind us  with a book in her hands. "Don't listen to that old man, he's getting  strange in his old age."

"Thanks, love. Was it where I said it would be?"

"Yes, it was," she said with a smile then handed Creed the massive black  book with some writing on the cover that I couldn't make out."

"For the Alpha. All the things you need to know about your human mate," Gage read the indecipherable text.

Both Creed and Maggie looked at Gage with a giant grin.

"It seems I've found my new historian," Creed said with a smirk as he looked at Gage.

"You can read this, bro?" I asked my brother, pointing at the book cover.

"Yeah, you can't?"

"No, I can't. How am I supposed to know what it says?"

"Gage can read it to you."

"Care for any bedtime stories, Cat?" he suggested to my wife. I growled at him.

"Yes, but my husband is the only one I allow near my bed."
