Where the Streets Have No Name(33)

By:Danielle Taylor

Amelia offered him a sly grin, biting her lip, sliding her hand back to his shoulder. “I’ll behave. I promise.”

“Good.” Then… “Damn.” Daniel slammed a fist into the mattress.

Amelia swallowed. “What’s wrong?”

He rested his forehead on hers. “I…I don’t have any–”

“I’m on the pill,” she told him. “Irregular periods…ugh sorry.”

“No, don’t be sorry.” A cheeky smile stretched one half of his delicious lips back. “I might not know much about what goes on inside a woman’s mind, Amelia, but I know enough the anatomy.”

Oh boy, did he ever!

She recalled how his mouth felt everywhere he kissed her. How he brought her body to heights of passion she had never even imagined. Right now Amelia wanted it all. Everything he was willing to give her.

“I’ve never been with anyone, so you don’t have to worry about…”

“You’re my first, Amelia.”

She’d assumed it, but didn’t want to say anything. Didn’t want to admit she knew all about him. She wanted him. He wanted her. Nothing else mattered.

“So kiss me, Daniel.” Her lips touched his jaw. “Touch me.” Her hands slid over his shoulders, fingers massaged the thick cords of muscle and jagged scars. “Please…”

Daniel growled. His mouth slanted over hers, giving her what she begged him for.

Her tongue swept over his in answer to his insistent thrusts. Her lips danced with his and all the problems in the world blurred away to dust. He could kiss her for hours. Days. A lifetime. But if he got her pregnant, then what? He wasn’t capable of caring for himself, much less a woman and a child.

Daniel lost the battle before it had even begun. He couldn’t fight how much he wanted her. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t deny himself the pleasure of Amelia, and if her pleas told him anything, she wanted this just as much as he did.

He stroked his hand along the edge of her jaw, catching the fire in her eyes. “Are you sure this is what you want, Amelia?”

She answered first with a kiss so passionate it scorched his soul. Her tongue tangled with his; she kissed him with everything she had. “I’ve never been more certain of anything in my entire life. You’re it for me, Daniel.”

She rocked her hips, drawing him closer, forcing his hand and snapping the wires of his restraint. Slow, he told himself, gently pushing the head of his cock into her wet, wanting heat. Daniel kept his eyes open, staring into hers. Those twin pools of Irish Sea blue stared up at him, wide and trusting and wanting. Further he inched, deeper, feeling closer to Amelia than he had to anyone. He fit inside her like his sweetest dreams. She gripped him perfectly.

So wet. So tight.

Her breathing stuttered.

His heart tripped over itself.

“I’ve not hurt you, lass, have I?”

“Daniel,” she moaned, eyes rolling back in her head. “You feel so good. Please…”

In answer to her unfinished request, he pushed on, moving within her, surging nearer to his goal. Their hips met. God, he was so deep. She squeezed him. Held him. And Hell, but he’d die right now a very happy man, buried deep inside Amelia.

Perfect. He couldn’t imagine a better moment than this.

“Love,” he whispered at her jaw, unable to hide the reverence in his voice.

He barely knew her. They barely knew each other. And yet he cared for her so deeply. Daniel knew he’d fallen, past the point or return. Further than he was worthy of receiving, especially from a woman as incredible as his Amelia.

His. Could she belong to him? Could he belong to her? Could happiness be as simple as opening his heart and loving Amelia?

Her legs hooked around his waist; she rocked her hips up, gasping, his name on her lips. When he didn’t instantly respond, she asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, love. Nothing. It’s perfect. You’re perfect.” The tip of his nose brushed hers. Then he covered her mouth with his and kissed her with all the love in his heart. And then Daniel began to move inside her.

Exquisite friction burned a slow fire in her core. Daniel filled her, stretched her, fit her to the very definition of perfection. The first clash of his hips against hers caused an explosion to detonate somewhere deep inside her. Amelia rocked her hips. Daniel planted his arms on either side of her head, his tongue tracing invisible patterns along the pulse point of her throat.

“Damn it, love,” he growled, throbbing inside her heat. “Amelia, I…I can’t…can’t last much longer.”

His name was a whisper on her breath, expelled to the sky above. “Daniel,” she whispered again. “Don’t stop. Please.”
