Walk Of Shame(157)

By:Victoria Ashley

Shaking her head, she smiles and starts walking backward, toward the bathroom. “Dammit! I love you too, but not so rough next time. Especially when we can’t stay home and play.” She winks at me and then disappears into the bathroom to get ready.

We pull up in the parking lot of Walk Of Shame thirty minutes later, us both rushing out of the car. In a hurry, Riley speeds up, walking ahead of me, but I grab her arm, slowing her down.

Whistling, I spin her around, checking her out in her little black dress. “Perfection.”

She gets that look on her face that she’s gotten for the last eleven years whenever I do this and it brings me back to the beginning, reminding me exactly why I fell in love with her in the first place.

“Cale . . .” She slaps my chest and I spin her into my chest, pulling her in for a kiss. “Let’s go.” I kiss her again, not wanting to let her go. “God, you’re so adorable,” she breathes, “But we need to hurry. I’m so anxious!”

Placing my hand on the small of her back, I guide her to the door and inside to where the crew is waiting in the V.I.P section. The first person I spot is Slade.

He nods at me and then hits Hemy in the side, letting him know that we’ve arrived. I can already see them talking shit about us being late and it only makes me want to laugh. Those two are usually never on time so fuck it.

Sara and Jules wave at us from behind the bar, letting me know that they’re fine. Eight months ago, Lynx had some shit go down and Hilary took the club away from him. I was the first person that she asked to take over. I was hesitant at first, but let the fact that most of the people here are my family, talk me into agreeing.

Stone, Kash, Styx, Sara and now Jules have become a big part of our crew and if I can help them out in any way, then that’s what I plan on doing. Plus it’s good money and we’re definitely going to need it now . . .

“Look who’s late,” Slade says with a sly grin. “Good thing I took my time getting here.”

“Ass.” I slug him on the shoulder and take a seat on the couch, pulling Riley down with me.

As soon as Lila sees us join the group, she rushes over to take our drink order.

“Just a beer.” I hand her a twenty, before she turns to take Riley’s order. Unfortunately, it’s going to give everything away.

“I’ll take a water,” she says softly.

Almost everyone in the group stops what they are doing and turns to gawk at us.

“You’re pregnant,” Onyx shouts. “Aren’t you!”

Lila whisper, “Congratulations,” to Riley, before walking away to grab our drinks.

“Dude,” Slade pushes.

“Well?” Aspen chimes in. “Tell us!”

Standing up, I pull Riley up with me, placing my hand over her belly. “Eight weeks,” I say with the biggest smile on my face. “Looks like we’re adding a new addition to our family, guys.”

Everyone watches me in awe as I drop to my knees and kiss Riley’s belly. My baby is in the woman that I love. Our baby.

“Well . . .” Riley says nervously. “Say something. You guys are too damn quiet.”

Aspen bursts into tears while reaching out to pull Riley into her arms. “I’m going to be an aunt.” Being sure not to hurt Riley, she shakes her, pulling her in as tight as she can. “Holy shit! I’m going to be an aunt, guys!”

Jumping to his feet, Slade throws his arms around the both of them and kisses the top of their heads. Then he reaches over and grabs the back of my head. “Congrats, man. I’m so fucking happy for you guys.”

I can see him fighting hard to hide his emotions. I know his past still hurts him, but the time will come for him and Aspen to start their own family. Hopefully soon. I know they’re both ready.

Sage, Onyx, Hemy . . . everyone takes turns giving Riley a hug, showing their love and excitement. Seeing all the support from them almost brings tears to my eyes, but I fight it.

Somehow knowing that I’m about to have a baby has made me more emotional. It makes me more appreciative of the love and support we have, knowing that our child will have the same.

After all the excitement is done, everyone falls into conversation about whether or not it’s going to be a girl or boy. Hemy and Slade actually make a bet on it. Hemy says a dude and Slade says a girl.

I’m happy either way. I just want to hold the love of our lives and show him or her how much we’re going to love and take care of them.

Hemy holds up his drink, interrupting everyone. “You should all know that if it’s a dude that he’s going to take after uncle, Hemy. You should be so lucky.”
