Nikolas bit into his wrist then held the bleeding appendage out to Jon. “Please, rajaaka, take from me as I have taken from you.”
Jon watched him for a moment then closed his lips over the bite mark. At first, Nikolas felt nothing, but then the tip of Jon’s tongue brushed against his skin. Jon groaned, his eyes falling closed as he started sucking.
“Jon!” Nikolas bellowed as he felt the same sucking sensation on his cock, Jon’s body gripping him tightly, massaging his dick with a silky warmth that sent Nikolas right over the edge into oblivion.
Nikolas’s grip on Jon’s cock tightened. Using his vampire speed, he jerked the thick shaft faster and faster. In mere seconds, Jon’s head fell back and his body arched up into Nikolas, warm liquid filling the space between them.
Nikolas gripped a handful of Jon’s hair and slammed their lips together as his orgasm took a hold of him and he filled the man with his essence. He could taste his blood on Jon’s lips. It was tinted with Jon’s unique taste.
Nikolas continued to thrust, unable to stop, unable to give up the exquisite feeling of his bond mate’s body. His hips moved slower and slower as his orgasm wound down, but Nikolas still couldn’t leave Jon’s body. He never wanted to leave Jon’s body.
Nikolas finally stopped moving and lifted his head to look down at his bond mate. Jon’s skin was flushed with life. His smile was serene, as if he was exactly where he wanted to be. Nikolas could only hope so.
Nikolas stroked his hand down the side of Jon’s face until the man’s eyelids fluttered and opened, golden eyes looking up at him. Nikolas smiled down at Jon. He wondered at the feelings rushing through his body. Feelings he’d never felt before.
“I think I’m falling in love with you,” Jon whispered.
“You think?” Nikolas chuckled.
Jon smirked, sending a shiver of delight through Nikolas. “Well, I still haven’t seen how you are as a boss. I might decide working for you isn’t worth it. You could be crabby, unorganized, a real monster to work for.”
“And if I am?”
“Then I guess I’ll have to be only your rajaaka instead of your personal assistant.”
Happiness lightened Nikolas’s face as he chuckled. “A much worse fate, I’m sure.”
“Oh, I don’t know. I think I have enough influence with the big boss to keep you in line.”
“The big boss?” Nikolas asked in confusion. “I thought I was the big boss.”
“Nikolas Vaile might be the boss of this office, but my petjya rules everything else.” Nikolas shivered as Jon’s hand stroked from the side of his face, down his neck and chest, to his hip. “My petjya rules my heart, my mind, and my soul.”
Nikolas’s chest hurt as his heart seemed to swell. He dropped his head to rest it against Jon’s. “I don’t think I can survive without you, Jon,” he whispered softly. “I don’t even want to try. You have become the center of my world.”
“Of course, I have.” Jon grinned. “You would be lost without me. I’m your rajaaka and your personal assistant.”
“You’re my reason for breathing.”
Chapter Ten
Jon groaned when the phone rang. Now was not the time to be interrupted, although it was better than five minutes ago. He stretched out and grabbed the handle and then held it to his ear. “Nikolas Vaile’s office, how may I help you?”
“This is Louis Redgrave,” came the terse reply. “Put Vaile on the phone.”
Jon rolled his eyes. That man was so pushy. He held his hand over the phone and turned to look at Nikolas. “Some very rude man named Louis Redgrave wishes to speak to you.”
Nikolas chuckled as he held his hand out. “Louis is my head of security, rajaaka.”
“He’s still rude,” Jon said as he handed the phone over. “And you can tell him I said that.”
Jon waited until Nikolas had taken the phone and then wiggled out from beneath him. He picked up his torn pants. He snickered and shook his head when he got a good look at them. There was just no saving them. It made him really glad there was an elevator to the penthouse or a lot more people would be staring as his pale white ass.
“I’m going to go change,” he sent to Nikolas through their bond.
Nikolas nodded and continued with his conversation.
Jon watched Nikolas for a moment, amazed at how quickly the big, strong, serious man had replaced the laughing lover he had held mere moments ago. Considering Nikolas’s position, Jon knew this formidable man was needed, but that didn’t mean he had to like it.
Jon turned and headed to the elevator. He needed to get cleaned up and changed and then maybe order some dinner. He was surprisingly starving. And luckily, even though he was mated to a vampire, he could still enjoy dinner with him.
That thought reminded Jon of how many different ways Hollywood had gotten things wrong. Pretty much the only things they had gotten right were that vampires couldn’t go out in sunlight and they had to drink blood. From there, they had gotten it all wrong. Nikolas ate food just like Jon did. In fact, he loved garlic.
Once he reached the penthouse and headed for the bedroom, Jon could feel cum leaking out from between his butt cheeks. That was a true downside to anal sex. It made walking feel funny. He jumped in the shower, cleaning himself from top to bottom, and a little inside and out just to make sure he got everything.
When he walked out of the bathroom a few minutes later, Nikolas was sitting on the end of the bed, fixing his cufflinks. He did not look happy. His face was set in stern lines, his mouth clamped, and his eyes fixed on a spot across the room.
Jon looked. There was nothing there.
“Nikolas?”
The handsome vampire glanced up. His shoulders slumped for a moment before he held out his hand. Confused but needing to wipe that weighted look off of his mate’s face, Jon dropped the towel he was drying off with and walked over to stand between Nikolas’s thighs.
He strummed his fingers through Nikolas’s dark hair. “What’s wrong, love?”
“Do you hate me for claiming you?” Nikolas’s words were whispered, broken, muffled against Jon’s chest.
“No,” Jon replied without hesitation, but he also wanted to be totally honest with Nikolas. “But I’m scared. This is a new world, one I don’t understand. I worry about finding my place in it.”
“Your place is at my side.”
“As what, Nikolas? Your husband? Your lover? The guy you’re fucking every night? What exactly am I in your world?”
Nikolas sat back, peering up at Jon with a darkening frown. “You are my rajaaka. Have I not explained this to you?”
“Yes, but I’m not sure I truly understands what that means.”
“You are my reason for—”
“No, baby.” Jon covered Nikolas’s mouth with his hand. “I know what that means to you. What does it mean to others? Are they going to look at me like I’m a gold digger because I bagged the head of the company? Will they think I’m a whore?” Jon didn’t know what to think of the amused smile that crossed Nikolas’s lips. “What?”
“For vampires, finding our rajaaka is rare. Most settle for a relationship with someone that does not hold their hearts. Very few of us hold out. I am probably one of the longest holdouts. While I have had lovers here and there over the years, I refused to bond with someone that wasn’t my rajaaka.”
Nikolas grabbed Jon’s hands and held them gently, pressing a kiss to each palm before looking into Jon’s eyes with such an intense stare that Jon could only swallow hard, desperate to hear what Nikolas had to say.
“Finding my rajaaka is a cause for great celebration, Jon. Any member of my tribe, and even some not of my tribe, will be happy for me. They will be happy for us. My finding you after so many years will renew their hope that they will find their own rajaakas.”
The lump in Jon’s throat swelled when the man kissed his hands again. His heart was beating faster, the blood pumping through his system until he started to feel light-headed.
“You are more than a label, Jon. You are the culmination of centuries of searching, of dreaming. The word rajaaka holds great esteem for my people. The will see you as the treasure you are.”
That didn’t exactly answer Jon’s question, but he would take it. “When do I get to meet some of your people?”
“Would you like that, my sweet rajaaka?” Nikolas asked as he drew Jon closer. “I can arrange a get-together.”
Jon smirked. “I thought I was the personal assistant. Shouldn’t I be doing mundane things like that?”
“Nothing concerning you could be considered mundane, rajaaka.”
Jon laughed. “Six hundred years and that’s what you have?”
His jaw dropped when Nikolas’s face flushed. He’d bet good money that Nikolas hadn’t blushed in several hundred years. He was probably the most self-assured man Jon knew. It wasn’t in the man to be embarrassed.
It was cute as hell.
The quick kiss Jon leaned down to plant against Nikolas’s lips turned into something that lasted minutes, maybe hours, and made him need another shower. By the time he was squeaky clean and dressed, the smile on his face felt like it would always be there. He couldn’t have been happier in that moment.
