Untouchable(14)

Needing air, I take my glass and head outside, hoping to find a spot free of people, to allow me a few moments of peace and quiet alone. I’m now onto my third glass of scotch and have a pretty good buzz going on. Slipping my suit jacket off, I drop it into the grass beside my feet and take a sip of my drink.

I can see a storm coming in from the distance, as thick dark clouds have started rolling in. Still, that hasn’t stopped the sunset from painting the sky with a mixture of oranges, yellows, and pinks. I stand there for I don’t know how long, watching as it makes its daily descent, slowly disappearing behind the mountains off in the distance.

Thoughts of earlier ring in my head like a blow horn, making a dull ache throb in my temples. I knew today would be a challenge, but I never anticipated it to be this hard.

The image of Raven and me having to slow dance no more than thirty minutes ago plays in my head. You’d think dancing with her would be fine. Nothing torturous about that. That is until you know every single eye is on you as you dance beside your newlywed parents.

As soon as my dad and Vivian finished their first dance as husband and wife, everyone began trickling out onto the dance floor to join them. Of course they yelled to Raven and me, telling us to dance beside them.

I think that, hands down, was the most awkward moment I’ve ever had to suffer through.

I don’t think anything can top that moment ever as being the worst and longest three minutes of my life.

We both stood with our bodies stiff and looking as uncomfortable as we both felt inside. With one hand resting at the small of her back and the other in her grasp, while her free hand came to rest on my shoulder, we kept an extremely large gap between our bodies. It’s pretty much impossible to control my dick when I’m around her, but surprisingly, I was so nervous with everyone watching us and the photographer snapping pictures that my dick behaved itself.

It only sealed everyone’s opinion of our relationship, or lack thereof. It was evident to them that we really can’t stand one another.

A gentle breeze blows past me, causing the smell of fresh flowers and pears to suddenly circle around me. Immediately, I know Raven is close by, because I’ve watched her rub a bottle of Sweet Magnolia & Clementine body lotion on her arms and legs numerous times since she came home last weekend. She carries it with her everywhere she goes in that Mary Poppins’ purse of hers.

The scented lotion makes her skin smooth as silk and every inch of her body smell delectable, making me want to nibble every single inch of her before burying myself to the hilt inside of her.

“Hey, stranger. What are you doing out here all alone?” I feel her hand press against my shoulder as she comes to rest beside me. The heat and spark that sizzles against my skin through my white dress shirt makes my heart slam against my chest and my dick to jump in my slacks.

Bringing my glass up to my mouth, I tip the rest of the amber liquid down my throat before crouching down and setting my glass in the grass.

“I needed some air. It was getting a little overwhelming in there. I’ll be lucky if I remember even a quarter of those people’s names come tomorrow morning.”

The wind whips over us this time as the storm clouds begin to roll in above us, causing Raven to shiver slightly. Wrapping her arms around herself, she rubs her arms with her hands over her now chilled arms. I can see tiny goose bumps popping up along her flesh as she shivers faintly beside me. Bending down, I scoop my jacket up off of the ground and shake it before draping it over her shoulders.

“Looks like it’s going to rain at any moment. Good thing we have this party tent or everyone would be soaked within minutes.”

She gazes up at the large dark clouds just as light raindrops begin to fall. “Thank God it held off for the ceremony so we weren’t standing there in the rain.”

“So…where’s Bryant?” I know I shouldn’t keep picking on her about him, but I can’t help it. I love riling her up.

Bring her hands to rest on her hips, she glares on me. “He’s inside. Don’t be an asshole, Linc. We’re just friends. I don’t know how many times I can tell you that.”

“Does he know that? Because he seems to thinking you’re a lot more than ‘just friends’, seeing as he’s been attached to your damn hip all night long. I’m surprised he hasn’t come out here looking for you yet.”

Turning on her stilettos, she starts heading back inside, stomping her heels with each step. Stopping, she whips her head back towards me and seethes with anger, “Kiss my ass.”

I let out a slow, deep chuckle. “I keep trying, but you being the stubborn pain in the ass that you are, you won’t let me. You know me Spitfire. I’ll do a hell lot more than just kiss that fine ass of yours.”

“You’re too much.” I notice her sway slightly as she starts to head back inside.

“And you’re drunk?” I ask in an amused tone.

Glaring at me again, she snaps, “Aren’t you observant tonight?” I know she’s hinting at me talking about her and Bryant.

“Very observant. So much so, I can tell right now just by looking at you that you’re not just drunk, but extremely horny too.”

Huffing out a sigh of annoyance, she folds her arms against her chest again and narrows her eyes at me. “I may be drunk, but I am not horny, especially for you and your overridden dick.” She takes a breath then points her hand at me, with frustration pouring out of her. “What is it with you and sex? Everything is sex, sex, sex!”

“Keep saying sex, Spitfire, and I’ll be forced to prove that you are very horny for this very hard, and not even close to being overused enough by you dick. By how tense you are, I can say for a fact you are in desperate need of a mind-blowing fuck.”

I can see her face blushing under the twinkling outdoor lighting. I’m so getting under her skin, and it’s making my dick so fucking hard.

Right on cue, douchebag Bryant comes strolling out behind her. “There you are. I’ve been looking all over for you.”

Raven watches me as I roll my eyes and walk past her. “Keep the jacket. I’ll get it later.” I walk back into the party and head straight for the bar. “I’ll take a bottle of scotch to go.”

“You’ll what? The bottle?” the bartender asks with a look of surprise on his face.

“Yup. That’s what I said.”

He reluctantly hands me the glass bottle and a new cup. “Hope you enjoy hangovers, because you, my friend, are going to be hurting, come tomorrow.”

I slam a hundred dollar bill down on the bar and push it towards him. “I’m looking forward to it.”

Turning around with the half-full bottle in my hand, I head back to exit the tent. I spot my dad and Vivian on my way out. I shout to them, “I’m outta here. Congrats again, you two.”

My dad gives me a stern look as he eyes the bottle in my hand, but doesn’t say anything besides, “Goodnight, son. Try not to get into too much trouble.”

Vivian flashes me a warm smile and says, “Goodnight, Linc,” before turning and talking to their group of friends again.

This party is officially a bust, so I’m going to have my own private party before strolling into the bar next-door and trying to find my hookup for the night.

Scotch and pussy—the best remedy to forget about Raven and these fucking feelings brewing inside of my damn chest.

I feel Raven’s eyes on me as I head towards the exit, but I force my gaze to stay straight ahead. I’m done torturing myself. So the best choice I can make, I guess, is to walk away.

I always get what I want, but Raven has proven to be more headstrong and stubborn than I had expected. So, I’m waving the white flag and hauling ass out of here.

If she decides she’s willing to break all the rules and be with me for one more night before we go our separate ways once again come Monday morning, she can come find me.

I’m done waiting around for her.

Staggering across the grassy hill where, only a few hours ago, the wedding I still can’t believe actually happened took place, I find a spot under a large tree and plop down on my ass. I tip over slightly, but catch myself with my elbow, making the amber liquid in my glass slosh around and spill out onto the impeccably mowed lawn.

“Shit,” I curse as I try to steady my drink and prop myself up against the tree.

My half a bottle of scotch has now turned into a quarter of a bottle, as I’ve spent the last thirty minutes drinking my sorrows away, sulking in the rain like a lovesick idiot.

I was sitting on the hill, enjoying the feeling of the light drops of rain falling on me as I sipped my scotch, but the rain started to turn into a steady downpour. So, it left me no choice other than to find somewhere drier to drink. I’m not ready to head to the bar yet. I’m too busy watching the party going on in the large white tent below, waiting to see if Raven leaves alone or with Bryant.

I know I shouldn’t care, but I do, no matter how badly I wish I didn’t. I’m a fucking hypocrite, because as soon as I know she’s back at her villa by herself, I’ll be heading into the bar, looking for someone to keep the other side of my bed warm for the night, and hopefully help me forget about Raven, even if it’s only for a few hours.
