Unchain My Heart(35)

“Ryder. You’re being silly. A baby boy suckles as innocently as a baby girl. You know that.”

“Yeah, I do. I'm kidding. I know my boy will take good care of his mom. But I still want a girl.” He fell to his knees and opened my robe. He pressed his lips to my flat stomach. “Hear that, Peanut?”

I ruffled his hair, laughing. “It will be what it will be. And we will love Peanut all the same.”

He looked up at me, a wicked glint in his eyes. “We will. But in the mean time, I need more of you, of sucking those glorious tits.”

His hand slipped between my thighs, stroking the inside of my legs, brushing against my pussy until my knees felt like jelly. “I like making babies. We should keep going.” He pulled me down to the floor. “Right now we’re going to celebrate with my dick deep inside you. Practicing for Peanut’s brother or sister.”

His eyes were on fire. I'd never seen Ryder this happy. I wanted to bottle this moment so that I could remember it forever.

Chapter Twenty-Five — Ryder

“It's okay, babe, I’m here.” I held Jade’s hair back as she wiped her face with the damp towel I’d passed her. I didn’t understand why they called it morning sickness when she was sick at all hours of the day. She was pale and her face drawn, a light sweat covering her skin. I pulled her into my arms. She trembled against me.

“I wonder when it will go away?” she groaned.

Rubbing her back in small circles seemed to settle her, and her breathing slowed as she leaned against me. My girl was worn down; bouts of round-the-clock nausea and vomiting had left her exhausted.

“I read on Google it should pass when you get to about three months, babe. That’s only two more weeks. Hang in there, ‘kay?” Whoever said that women were the weaker sex needed to be shot—or at least, corrected. Since the time Peanut was six weeks old until now, Jade had been miserable, spending more time in the bathroom than anywhere else in the house.

Luckily this bathroom had exceptional views over the ocean. Because the house faced the water, it had floor-to-ceiling windows with one-hundred-and-eighty-degree vistas to the horizon. The tiles were cool, so we sat like that for a long while, looking out of the window as she caught her breath and waited for her queasiness to pass.

I held a glass of water to her lips, watching her take small sips to rehydrate her body. I rose from the floor and scooped her into my arms. She was lighter than she had been a few weeks ago. If only she could keep something down. Tea and toast was about all that would settle in her stomach.

Laying her gently on the bed, I drew the covers over her, then sat at the end of the mattress and massaged the soles of her feet, one by one. She sighed appreciatively, so I kept going till I felt her relax completely.

“Close your eyes, babe. Just enjoy.” A shudder ran through her body as she released the tension. At least I could help her feel a little better—I'd felt so helpless when she heaved, wishing I could take her place so that she didn’t have to go through it.

Her soft rhythmic breathing was a sure sign that she had drifted into sleep, so I went off to the kitchen to make her something to eat. At least I knew how to make tea and toast.

Twenty minutes later, she smiled weakly when I brought the tray into the bedroom and sat next to her, feeding her wholegrain toast with just a scraping of Vegemite that Rebecca had brought from Australia. The black vegetable paste tasted vile to me, but Jade didn’t seem to mind it, saying she’d learned to enjoy it as a kid when she visited her cousins in Melbourne. She liked that it reminded her of her visit there and her family.

“I don’t really know how you can eat that stuff,” I said, screwing up my nose as she took small bites and chewed slowly.

“I should take you to Australia some time. We could visit my aunt and cousins. Rebecca’s sisters are living in her apartment while she is in Europe. I'm sure Chloe and Lily would love to meet you . . . and Peanut.” She smiled, her strength already returning.

Wiggling my eyebrows, I chuckled. “Yeah, babe, seems that’s the only way I’m going to get down under these days.”

She smiled. “Oh baby, have I been starving you lately?” Since the morning sickness hit her, we hadn’t had half as much sex as we usually did. Of course I didn’t complain, but I missed it.

“It's okay, I’ll live. I know you’ll make it up to me,” I joked.

She swatted my arm. “Men. So preoccupied with your dicks. Should I remind you that it's your cock that got me into this condition, Mr. Sexy Biker?”

“Ohhh, that sounds sexy. Say it again.”
