Town of Chance_ Believing in Love(59)

She smiled at her best friend. “I need to go in alone. But I’m so glad that you’re here with me. I get very nervous when the guys aren’t with me, especially after the other night.”

“I’m surprised they let you come here with me.”

“I know, but they want to solve that case and I’m safe here. Clarissa and Mr. Divanni have nothing to do with the case. As soon as we’re done here, we’ll call Parker and Burker to let them know we’re on our way back.”

Missy Ann smiled. “Okay. Knock ‘em dead,” she said and then they got to the office and opened the door.

Eliza Grace saw two men sitting in the office reading magazines. A woman at the desk told Eliza Grace that they were waiting for her in the back room. She had this uneasy feeling in her gut as she looked back at the men and at Missy Ann. Before she went inside she whispered to Missy Ann.

“Take out your phone and be ready to text Parker. Just in case,” she said to her and Missy Ann looked scared. “I may be paranoid so just humor me,” she said and gave a soft smile. Missy Ann nodded and then took out her phone and kept it on her lap.

Eliza Grace met Mr. Divanni, who couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her. It was rather annoying and she didn’t like the feeling she had. As Clarissa described the contractual agreement it seemed odd, and unclear.

“I don’t understand the contract. It doesn’t state anything about modeling lingerie but a lot of stipulations of responsibilities and upkeep of my body, my skin and even the food I eat. I’m confused,” she said and looked at him and then Clarissa.

“It’s a typical contract. All the girls sign them before they begin their training,” he said to her.

“Training?” she asked.

“Well yes, you’re going to need a lot of training in order to fulfill your owner’s desires.”

The words hit her gut like a hard kick. She stood up and the door opened. The moment she saw Si she gasped and reached for her purse. Clarissa knocked it from her hands. “I’m sorry, Eliza Grace, I tried to keep them at bay but you were just too appealing to all involved,” Clarissa said.

Eliza was in shock. “How could you do this? I trusted you. You set this all up? You’re part of the illegal prostitution ring?” she asked as she maneuvered around the meeting table. There was nowhere to run. She would have to get through Divanni on her left or Si on her right. Both men would be able to stop her. “Don’t fight it, Eliza Grace. You knew since the moment we met that there was something between us,” Si said, moving closer.

She shook her head. “No, nothing was between us. I don’t want anything to do with you.”

“Sure you do, because myself, Vic and Daville are the only men who will take interest in you after you’ve been fucking four men.” Her eyes widened. “Oh, by the way, two of them are already dead and the other two will die too if you don’t cooperate.”

“No. No. You’re lying,” she screamed at him.

He held her gaze. “Believe what you want. It won’t matter a few days from now and definitely not weeks from now. Vic has a way with discipline and Daville, well, he likes to use his fists and has a bit of a temper. I’m the calmest, so I suggest you cooperate.”

“No. I’m not going anywhere with you. Especially if you did kill my boyfriends,” she screamed as the tears filled her eyes. She tried not to cry and grabbed onto the table. They can’t be dead. They can’t be.

There was a knock at the door.

“Oh, you may want to think about your friend Missy Ann who was sitting out in the waiting room. Seems Mr. Divanni here has been kind enough to make a deal for a friend of his. I take you and his friend gets Missy Ann.”

She felt sick, angry and also responsible for Missy Ann. “No. Please don’t hurt her. Please leave her alone.”

“Then come with me now. I won’t have my men take out Parker and Burker at their house right now, and I won’t turn over Missy Ann to Divanni’s friend.”

The door opened and there was one of the men.

“We need to go,” the guy said and he was the one in the waiting room with Missy Ann.

Eliza Grace took a chance and ran for the door. Si stopped her, lifting her up off the ground. He slammed her onto the table and gripped her head. She couldn’t move with him on top of her.

“You will cooperate or she will die right here in this office. Do you understand me?” he said through clenched teeth. She could tell by his tone, his facial expression that he meant business. He would kill Missy Ann if she didn’t cooperate. The tears rolled down her cheeks. She nodded.
