Touching Scars(93)
“You are so beautiful. Seriously, I don’t think I would have thought I’d have pegged this is where I’d be even just a few months ago.”
Her fingers came up and traced the few scars on my torso that I’d gotten in Iraq, but then moved to the raised skin that was whiter than the rest of my skin from where I’d been shot. “Me either. Are you happy?” She once again threw my question back at me.
I glanced up and looked around the space that I now owned, then back down at my dark haired beauty. Her long reddish brown hair was in a mass all over the table underneath her.
“Deliriously.”
She smiled, and I smiled back.
And I was. She had healed me from the inside out. I never knew I’d find someone that could touch my scars. But she had, and I’d love her till the day I died.
TO MY EDITOR, TRISH KUPER from Vixen Editing, I love you woman! You saved my butt when I was in a pickle, and you kept me from losing my mind. You’ve been the biggest blessing in disguise. And by disguise I mean a cute little hot woman package. Your skills are crazy good, and you are really wonderful to work with. In all seriousness though, you are easy to work with and you take everything I say into consideration. That’s invaluable to me. Love you friend! Thank you for giving me the push that I needed with this book.
Joshua Sean McCann, you were hands down the greatest ‘discovery’ I think I could have made for myself. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have found you, but I’m one lucky girl. I took a chance on you, and it was single-handedly the best decision I made for Touching Scars. You’ve become the face that represents this book. And seriously… I love your face! Ha! Somehow through all of this madness, you’ve made me smile and I am so happy that we’ve become more than work partners but friends too. You’ve got something special, and I’m going to do everything I can to keep helping you push on to the next level. No matter what, I’m here for you. I love you Mr.!
Loren Sayre, I’m amazed at how quickly we became such good friends after a meet and greet this summer. And how one little sentence out of your mouth spiraled into plastering your gorgeous face all over my cover and teasers. You and Josh had chemistry on camera, which I knew was going to happen. So thank you for letting me use your face… and boobs! Seriously, we need to name them. They are just as famous as your face. Haha! So thanks for the boobs too. “Work Bitch” I love you tons, and you are hands down one of my best friends.
Bayli Lane (my official BPIC-Bitch Partner In Crime) where on earth would I be without you? You help me throughout my entire day to decompress, to make me laugh, you help me push my boundaries with my writing, and seriously I just love you all around. You are one of my very few best friends in this world. You have an honest heart, and a sincerity that gives me a reminder to not be so cynical. There are good people out there, you’re one of them. Now write woman, write and go Vox me and tell me how much you love me for saying all of this.
Anna Easter, another of my dear friends that I had the privilege of meeting this summer. You ma’am are the epitome of a great woman. You seriously make me laugh like no other. You have the most beautiful family, and the kindest heart. You included me in your inner circle and made me feel like I was already a part of your life and always had been. I love you Anna, and I know without a shadow of a doubt I’m blessed to have you as a friend.
Jason Goulet, oh honey, these acknowledgements wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t include your name in here and tell you just how much you mean to me. Have I told you today how much I love and adore you? Well, now it’s in a book and you can read it every day in case I miss a day. We met through Josh and it started out as a possible business venture. Little did I know it was a hook line and sinker sort of friendship. You had me at hello! Ha! You keep me on my toes with your honesty and kindness. In the short time we’ve known each other you have held my hand when no one else was around, and you reminded me that I am worth so much more than what I receive sometimes. That’s an invaluable quality, and it’s rare. You’re impossible not to love, and I am the lucky one to know you.
Lisa Shirley, you are an invaluable tool my friend. Between being handy for me to ask questions, you’ve also set me up with the most incredible group of blogs that have helped post my teasers, cover, and synopsis. We met back when I did Ever Enough and I can’t believe I got so lucky with you. Honestly…seriously…truly… you are a wonderful person and friend. Thank you for being there for me through my whole writing journey this past year.
