The Yeah Baby Series(74)

By:Fiona Davenport

“Yup,” Eden continued cheerfully, “there’s the rest of your lip, over there on the floor.”

Andrea started screaming in earnest, causing Natalie to cringe and cover her ears. I was about to snap at Eden to get her sister out of there, but she was already moving.

“Let’s get you to a doctor, come on.” She gathered a pile of clothes from the floor and took Andrea’s arm, leading her to the exit. As she passed Natalie, she threw her arm out for a fist bump, then kept right on shuffling by.

After they were gone and we were alone, I took Natalie into my arms, prepared to tell her just how remarkable she was. But, she lurched suddenly, her hands flying to cover her mouth. For a split-second, I wondered if she was imitating Andrea, until she tore out of my embrace and raced to the bathroom. I swiftly followed, reaching her just in time to see her lean over the toilet and empty her stomach.

I held her hair back while she finished, then helped her stand to wash her mouth and hands. She batted me away grumpily. “Don’t touch me, you . . . you—giant sperm!” she snapped and pointed at my cock. “That thing better be shooting blanks for a good long while after I pop out this kid. This is the second time today. And yesterday, I even had to leave a meeting early to throw up!” She stomped past me muttering, “Morning sickness, my foot.”

I raised my hands in surrender and bit my lip to suppress my smile. “Are you okay?” I asked after a minute.

She flopped down into my plush desk chair and scowled at me. “No.”

My heart sank. Shit, the stuff with Andrea must have gotten to her more than I’d thought.

“After today, I really want to get drunk. But I can’t, all because you decided to go all caveman and knock up your woman.”

Okay, apparently this wasn’t about Andrea. I circled around the desk and kneeled in front of her, taking her hands and kissing each one. “You seem more upset about your morning sickness than you do about what just happened with Andrea.” I was quite genuinely confused.

“What?” she looked at me as though I was the one confusing her. “Of course I am! Andrea is an empty-headed Barbie, who clearly doesn’t know my Neanderthal fiancé at all or she wouldn’t have been deluded enough to think she could interest him,” she said dryly. “But, the pregnancy stuff is your fault! You, and your giant cock, and your ridiculous super sperm!” She yelled the last bit then looked at the door in alarm, blushing furiously.

“Betty is still at lunch, sweetheart.”

She visibly relaxed and then smiled at me slyly. “So . . . we’re all alone?” Her hands strayed to my suit jacket and she popped open the three buttons. “Didn’t you say something about naked wall-sex the other day?”

I had a feeling this swift change in mood was indicative of how the next 8 months were going to be. I couldn’t wait to experience every moment. And, the raging pregnancy hormones definitely had their advantages.

Wrapping her legs around my waist, I stood, holding her with my hands under her ass. I walked toward the wall on the opposite side of the room. “You know we’re going to have to burn that couch, right?” she quipped.

Smirking, I squeezed her cheeks and pressed her back against the wall, my cock firmly nestled in the apex of her thighs. “What couch? I believe the subject at hand was wall-fucking,” I growled before my mouth crashed down over hers.

“The courthouse isn’t even open on weekends,” I grumbled. “Why are we stopping here?”

I was beyond irritated and just wanted to go home. I’d been looking forward to a quiet Sunday morning at home, but Jax had dragged me out of bed at the butt crack of dawn—without even giving me one little orgasm first—and taken me out for brunch. Then he’d insisted we go to the farmer’s market, where we’d wandered around without buying anything, except for an absolutely stunning bouquet of flowers that Jax had spotted. The arrangement was perfect for me since pink peonies were my favorite, and I’d been surprised to find them there since it wasn’t your usual run-of-the-mill bouquet.

“Judge Frazier is in his chambers this morning,” he explained as he led me towards the front doors. “He promised the building would be open.”

“This is highly unusual,” I mumbled, still not understanding why he needed to see the judge so urgently in the first place. At least, not until he prodded me through the doors and I found my mom, step-dad, Eden, and Isaac standing there with huge grins on their faces.

“What in the world?” I gasped as my mom swept me up in a hug.
