"Want to get something to eat?" Lucy asked with a smile.
Xanther grinned and kissed her again.
"I'd rather eat in" he said with a wink.
Lucy groaned as she pushed her waist against Xanther's.
"Baby if we do this too much more I'm not going to be able to walk tomorrow" Lucy laughed.
Xanther grinned and gave Lucy a wink before nodding his head.
"How about I just eat and then I'll take you out for dinner?" he asked.
Lucy raised her eyebrows as she felt his hand slide up the back of her skirt. A small giggle escaped her lips when she looked up into his eyes to see him pouting and begging. Lucy shook her head and took his hand leading Xanther to the bed. He slid her skirt up to her waist before pulling her panties to the side and greedily began to lap at her. Within minutes Lucy was screaming and pulling at his hair, writhing underneath Xanther. He sat up with a grin on his face before gently kissing her; she could taste her juices still on his lips as she smiled at him.
"You are something else" Lucy laughed.
Xanther winked at her, before gently putting her panties back in place and reaching out his hand for her. Lucy took his hand and pushed her skirt back down in place while he led her out to the car and to the restaurant.
Chapter Fourteen
Over dinner they sat and talked quietly about Lucy's childhood growing up in the area. Xanther seemed to be enthralled by every word; he didn't seem to bore by any topic she spoke about. As Lucy sat telling him about her childhood she realised that she didn't really know a lot about Xanther.
"Tell me about your childhood?" she asked.
Xanther sat back in his seat and smiled before he shrugged his shoulder.
"There isn't really much to tell" he said with a curled lip smile. "I grew up with my mum who had me when she was only fifteen, I never knew my dad."
Lucy smiled sadly; she couldn't imagine not having her dad or her big extended family in her life. It wasn't the most conventional family but it was her family and she loved it, she felt loved and wanted.
"Did you always sing?" Lucy asked.
Xanther nodded his head between bites of his steak.
"My mum sung all the time, so I just grew up around music. She loved the music of the ‘50s so that's what I loved too" he said with a smile.
Lucy smiled back at him. She glanced around the restaurant and noticed a couple of the young waiting staff staring over at them talking behind their hands. Lucy nodded her head towards the two girls.
"I think you might have some fans" Lucy said with a smile.
Xanther turned to follow Lucy's line of sight. When the two girls saw him looking at her they quickly turned giggling trying to make themselves look busy. Xanther chuckled and turned back to Lucy.
"Does that feel weird? Being recognised everywhere?" she asked.
Xanther shrugged his shoulder.
"At first it was great, I felt like some sort of super hero. But after a while it just got annoying" he said with a smile and a shrug of his shoulder. "I knew you had no idea who I was that day on the stairs and I loved it"
Lucy smiled and ran her hand through her hair just as one of the waitresses came to their table to clear their plates. She looked Lucy up and down with a scowl before turning to Xanther and giving him a wicked grin.
"Are you Xanther Anderson?" the girl asked.
Xanther's personality changed he leaned back in the chair and ran his hand up through his hair nodding slightly. The girl just about swooned to the floor. Lucy watched in bemusement. She knew how the girl felt. One look from Xanther and she virtually dropped her panties as well. Xanther pointed to Lucy.
"This is my girlfriend Lucy" he said with a smile as the girls face dropped and she turned with a scowl to Lucy, looking her up and down.
Lucy had to bite her lip to prevent the giggle that she felt building up.
"Nice to meet you" the girl curtly said.
Lucy smiled sweetly at the girl, before taking Xanther's hand in hers and bringing it up to her lips, sensually kissing each knuckle while staring into his eyes. Xanther curled his lip into a smile as he enjoyed the show. The girl huffed and turned clanging their plates as she cleared the table. Once the waitress was out of ear shot Lucy burst out laughing. Xanther shook his head as he smiled at her.
"You're a vixen" Xanther said with a grin.
"Let's go and I'll show you how much of a vixen I can really be" Lucy purred.
Xanther raised his eyebrow and grinned as he raised his hand for the check. Lucy didn't think there was so many ways that two people could have sex, but yet she and Xanther seemed to work hard at exhausting the list. As the morning light was getting ready to poke its head up, the two of them fell exhausted into each other's arms onto the big soft bed.
Chapter Fifteen
By the time Lucy woke it was well into the afternoon. She sat up bleary eyed and was aching all over from the previous night's exhaustive activities. Lucy looked around for Xanther but he wasn't in the room. She went outside but he wasn't there either. Lucy frowned and shrugged her shoulders figuring he might have gone for a walk as she went for a shower. When she got out there was a knock on the door. Lucy swung the door open to see her Uncle Tommy standing there. Lucy frowned and looked down at his hands which held an envelope.
"Your husband left this for you" Tommy said sadly.
Lucy looked up at Tommy and frowned before taking the envelope and opening the letter. As she read it she felt tears overwhelm her and drip from her cheeks to the paper. Tommy looked at Lucy and pulled her into his arms.
"What does it say sweetheart?" he asked.
"Xanther doesn't want to be with me. He said he was sorry that he pulled me into his life, but he doesn't want to hurt me so he left" Lucy sobbed.
Tommy frowned as he looked down at Lucy.
"Do you want me to fix it?" he asked with all seriousness and anger threaded through his voice.
Lucy shook her head and rested her chest on Tommy's chest.
"No I don't Uncle" she sighed "I was stupid for believing that there was such a thing as a happy ever after"
Tommy pulled Lucy away from his chest and held her at an arm's length with tears in his eyes.
"You of all people child deserve your happy ever after" he said with a growl.
Lucy managed a weak smile. They sat quietly on the front porch for some time. Lucy had scrunched up the letter and shoved into her pocket, her emotions ranged from hurt, to sad and to anger. She didn't know how to feel. She didn't have Xanther's number and she didn't know whether he would go back to his home, not that she was even sure that she wanted to see him. Lucy needed more of an explanation. She wanted to tell him that she wanted to be in his life, she was prepared to accept the crazy that came with him being famous. Lucy kept going over everything that had happened, last night he had shown no sign that he was unhappy, it just seemed to come out of the blue.
"Did he just walk away?" Lucy asked Tommy.
Tommy frowned and shook his head.
"No he made a phone call and then some woman in a flash car came and picked him up. I got her number plate. I can fix it" he said.
Lucy shook her head.
"Uncle Tommy I love you like I loved grandpa, but I do not want you to have someone killed for me" she said sternly.
Tommy looked almost disappointed as he nodded his head. Lucy sighed before standing up.
"Well I suppose I better head home. Mum was looking after Samson for me" Lucy said with a weak smile.
Tommy smiled and put his arm around Lucy's shoulders.
"You've still got that old dog?" he said with a laugh.
Lucy smiled and nodded her head as she remembered how she came to find him, just a tiny puppy lost in the forest behind the motel. She had thrown a fit until her parents had let her keep him.
"I can't imagine life without him, but he hasn't got much time left" Lucy said sadly.
Tommy nodded his head and gave her shoulder a squeeze.
"One thing that's always guaranteed when we live, we die, it's shitty, but it's the truth" Tommy said with a weak smile.
Lucy looked up at Tommy and smiled before she put her arms around his waist and put her head on his chest.
"I love you Uncle Tommy" she said.
Lucy heard Tommy's voice hitch as he kissed her on the top of her head.
"I love you too sweetheart" he said. "You just ring if you want me to fix it"
Lucy shook her head and rolled her eyes. He was far too keen to do some killing Lucy thought with a laugh.
Chapter Sixteen
On Lucy's way home her mind kept going over the night with Xanther, she thought through every detail trying to find something that would show her why he would just up and leave. She had no idea who the woman was, whether it was another girlfriend, whether it was a manager or a band member, for all Lucy knew it was one of the waitresses from the night before. She thumped on the wheel of her car as she swung it into fill up with fuel. As Lucy went into the store to pay she caught sight of the front of one of the tabloid newspapers for sale. On the front cover was a picture of her kissing Xanther's knuckles in the restaurant. The headline read ‘Rock star Xanther Anderson seen with crime boss Tommy Russo's niece'. Lucy shook her head and felt the colour drain from her face as she picked up the paper and scanned over the newspaper.
