“And? Daimon, this is only the beginning, man. You’re going to be fighting with her always. You know that,” Rafe commented.
He was right. It wouldn’t be the last. The old Addie, as she called it, would continuously appear until hopefully she would be gone. I hated the insecure part of her. I hated how much she felt like she didn’t deserve the world when she deserved the world and more.
We headed up to our room, Rafe in his usual double bed off to the side of the suite while I took the king-size room. Rafe and I usually bunked together in the largest suite in the hotel. It was easier this way, especially due to our schedules and meetings, which we held in the conference room of the suite.
Once back in my room, I headed off to take a shower and laid down on the bed. Fucking Addie wasn’t back just yet. It was late too. I lay there with the lights off, seething and waiting. Finally, I heard her coming in. She slowly eased into our room and stepped toward the bathroom so as not wake me.
“Don’t bother being so quiet. I’m obviously awake,” I said coldly.
“Oh,” she murmured as she stopped and stood in the middle of the room. The soft blue hue of the night sky lit her as she faced me. I let out a heavy sigh as I continued to lay there.
“Was it stupid to think I might have changed you? That my sick love was enough to bring you back to life?” I asked, just as Addie started for the bathroom again.
“Your love isn’t sick, Daimon. It’s just…it’s you. I happen to love the way you’ve changed me. Don’t you remember what I said in Bora Bora?” she said softly.
“That was then, before you knew I had lied to you,” I said callously.
“Daimon…I—”
“Fuck, Addie, I just wanted to think that I…somehow…”
“Daimon, would you shut up already. I told you you did change me, but you can’t think I won’t go back to my old ways sometimes. You invited me here on a business trip. You’ve never done that before. I was just worried that I would screw something up. I’m sorry. I know you said what you did before was for my benefit. I just hate the idea you didn’t like who I was,” Addie said quietly.
“How can I hate who you were when I’m in awe of you?” I said earnestly as I rose up from the bed. “Damn, Addie, you were and are still so strong. So when I saw you hide away, it pissed me off. Anyone else can hide away, but not you, not after everything you did for your family.”
“What did I do, Daimon? I bought an obvious lie. One you fed me. I was stupid,” she said, shaking her head.
“First off, you weren’t stupid. You were desperate, and with desperation comes blindness. You wanted to believe what I said, because you needed the money. Plus I was glad you did. Addie, I was desperate too. I was desperate to have you in my life. Even if it meant coming up with a lie. I’d lie my whole life if it meant I could keep you,” I admitted as I stepped closer to her.
“Lie? You lie one more time asshole and I'm out of here,” she threatened.
“You can’t leave me, Addie. It’s you and me. It’s fate.” I smiled as I grabbed at her pulling her in.
“Fate my ass,” she snapped, but had a cute little smirk across her lips.
“I’m glad it’s you, Addie, because without you, nothing makes sense,” I said hoarsely as I leaned in, cocooning her in my arms.
“I hate to admit it, but it feels right, even when we fight. It feels so right,” she murmured as she surrendered in my embrace. Her sweet scent hit my nose and the alpha in me rose up from inside, my little seductress had to pay for her little stunt.
“Take off your clothes.”
“Daimon,” she said meekly.
“Do as I say.” Addie froze, her eyes wide as I reached for her shirt and yanked at it, ripping it open.
“Daimon,” she breathed.
“Take it off.” I towered over her, my body ready to fuck her senseless.
Addie looked up and slowly pulled the ripped shirt over her head. I moved to the corner of the bed and sat as I watched her. “Do it slowly. I want to see you move in the light of the night. Do it. Make me hungry for your body,” I growled low, watching her pull off her clothes. The soft blue hue of the West End’s night sky seeped into our room as it lit her beautiful body. Addie moved deliberately, just like I asked. I licked my lips wanting to taste her, my body lusting after her.
“Come here,” I ordered and she obeyed. Fuck, I loved how easily she gave over her power to me. I reached out and took her hand, pulling her in front of me. “Turn around,” I breathed; she did as she was told. “Now sit between my legs.” I spread my legs at the corner of the bed, anticipating her. She sat down, her naked ass snug against my stiff cock. “Look into the mirror in front of you,” I said low into her ear as I wrapped my arm around her waist, pinning her in my embrace.
