The Champ:Bad Boys Book 5(28)

By:Jordan Silver

"Aww come on, I now find myself having to live vicariously through you   which is a sad state of events because let's face it girlfriend, for a   minute there I thought you were trying for sainthood. We all discussed   it and swore you planned on taking it to the grave with you. But look   what you've gone and landed."

"I hear he's a champ as much outside of the ring as he is in if you know what I mean?"

"Where did you hear that?" I glared at Cassie not at all liking the reminder.

"Girl didn't you read any of the shit we pulled up on the net? The man   has bedded some of the most gorgeous women in the world, and some of   them talked. Wait ‘til I tell everyone that my best friend has landed   the great Wyatt Hunter."

"Oh shit how could I have forgotten about that? Why would he marry me after … after? I think I'm going to be sick."

"Don't be an ass, of course he wants you, none of those other women have   anything on you. Personally I think it shows he has great taste.   Obviously he didn't find any of them worthy of carrying his name, or   having his babies, swoon."

"Get your mind off her man's dick you freak. But she does have a point   Trace, the guy obviously knows what he wants and from what I see he's no   game player. The way he honed in on you and went after what he wanted,  I  can only hope I instill that in some man." Melissa bumped my  shoulder  with a laugh.

"I know that's right, now let's have another round this is a celebration. Hey barkeep."

"Yes Cris but we all have work tomorrow don't we? And then school starts   back. Oh crap, how am I going to plan a wedding with such little time   and all the other stuff I have going on?"

"Don't panic Traci damn, breathe. We're here to help and I'm sure his   mom is going to want to help she strikes me as the type. And didn't you   say Wyatt invited your folks to come down next week? You'll have more   than enough people willing to help." I could only imagine what Cris   would come up with.

Wyatt

"Yeah Jace what's up?" I was half expecting this call and half hoping it wouldn't come.

"Looks like you know your woman she's at the Blarney Stone."

"What the fuck?" The other people at the table stopped talking and   looked around at me. I held up a finger as I stood up to leave. "I have   to go, you guys can hammer out the details without me." I didn't wait   around for my manager's answer, just left on the double.

"You on her?" I took the stairs two at a time too wound up to wait for the elevator.

"Yeah, I'm your damn errand boy, I dragged your brother along with me   since he had nothing better to do with his night either." I could hear   Chad in the background grumbling about the cold.

I knew her redheaded ass wasn't going to listen. That sweet innocent act   she had going when we met was just that, the woman is a pain in the  ass  who's probably gonna keep me on my fucking toes ‘til kingdom come.

I'd called Jace as soon as I cleared the gates knowing that when she   went all quiet and acquiescent on me she was up to something. Looks like   we'd both been learning each other in the short time we'd been   together. But this was unacceptable and I was going to tell her little   ass just that as soon as I dragged her ass back home where it was safe.

I was already second guessing the deal I'd just signed but I'd kinda   committed before all this went down and I wasn't too fond of breaking my   word. As it stood I'd be getting married and hitting the road not long   after if I had anything to say about it.

Ma had finally given in on the wedding thing once she realized I wasn't   about to budge. As soon as I'd threatened that she'd have to wait on   those grandkids she was fiending for, she'd caved like a lava cake. The   woman is truly obsessed. I was almost afraid we'd find her at our   bedroom door with instructions on how to get the job done.

"I'm on my way, don't leave there without her, if she moves nab her ass   until I get there." Fucking girl. I guess I can't blame her for not   understanding that when I say no that's just what the fuck I mean,   she'll learn.

There will be times when she'd get away with that shit, now wasn't one   of them. There was a fucking lunatic stalking her, even her hardheaded   ass should understand the danger. What the fuck is she doing at the   Blarney Stone? Couldn't she have invited her friends over to the house   if she just had to see them?

I should probably call dad and ask him how to deal with a pigheaded   female but I doubt there's enough time in the damn day for him to   explain. Ma's ass has never been right come to think of it, and more   often than not she'd run circles around him. "Fuck!"

I pulled up to the little restaurant and saw my brother and Jace getting   out of his car parked two cars ahead. At least she hadn't gone back to   Smiley's but there was no guarantee that asshole didn't have eyes on  her  even now. What if he came after her while I wasn't there to protect   her?

My blood ran cold at the thought and her ass just earned an extra wailing. "Dude fix your face, she's safe."

"Yeah Chad but I told her not to leave the house. How the hell did she get here anyway?"

"She took your Diablo." He thought that shit was funny.

"She's gonna get it." The damn car was built more for racing than joy   riding. The last thing I need is her and her crazy ass friends behind   the wheel especially after a night of drinking.

I spotted her as soon as I cleared the door and wondered fleetingly how   long before that thump in my chest at the sight of her would disappear.   She was safe, at least from the asshole, from me, not so much.

"Uh-oh. We've got company and he's breathing fire." I heard Cris' loud whisper as I drew closer to their table.

"Ladies." Her eyes were wide as saucers when she saw me.

"Wyatt what are you doing here?"

"That's my line. Say goodnight Red." My relief at finding her safe and in one piece was tinged with anger.

"I'm not done yet run along now." She was drunk off her ass and cruising   for an ass whipping of monumental proportions. There were eyes on me   but I didn't care. So what if I ended up on the net or the late night   news? I didn't give a fuck. She lifted the martini glass to her lips and   I damn near snatched the shit from her hand.

"How the hell were you planning on getting home after drinking all night?"

"Don't be a jerk, we never go beyond the limit. Besides Cassie is the designated driver."

"Good try but I know you drove here tonight and Cris' car is outside."

"Oh that, your dad is going to bring your mother by here to drive me back and he's going to follow us home."

"Ma was going to drive my car?" what the fuck is going on with the women   in my life? I told that old woman more than once that she was under no   circumstances to get behind the wheel of that damn car. "Is this the   kinda shit I have to look forward to?" I was talking about her and ma's   sneak attacks but she took umbrage.

"Hey, I don't see a ring on this finger big guy." She waved her hand   under my nose and her girls all but fell off their chairs laughing while   the two jackasses that were supposed to be on my side snickered behind   their hands.

A good hard glare was enough to straighten them out but there was no   hope for the females. "What do you think girls, I don't think I should   marry someone who's so bossy." She pouted at me and did that shit with   her hair that makes my dick hard.

"You're drunk." She's cute as hell, and way too fuckable when she's like   this to be out in public. I pulled her up from her chair but she  wasn't  done yet. She flopped back into her seat and held onto the  sides. "Hey a  lady never gets drunk."

My ass. "Let's go Red the celebration is over."

"I'm not ready to go." She looked ready to mutiny and I knew there was a   battle of wills up ahead and I had no intentions on losing. Instead of   arguing I lifted her from her seat being careful not to jostle her too   much since she looked like she was ready to puke at the slightest   provocation.

"Chad call your mother and tell her you're driving the car back." I'll   deal with her later; right now I had a squalling redhead on my hands.   "Would you be still?" I smacked her ass to get her to pipe down and stop   trying to bore holes in my back with her nails.

Jace was rounding up the other culprits to see them out and half the   damn town was having a good laugh at this little pint sized doll giving   me hell. It struck me as funny that I could take down men twice her   size, but she had me by the short ones. Fucking women, it's a damn con.
