The Bad Boys of Capitol Hill(7)

By:Jordan Silver

“What was that all about?”

“Wouldn’t you just like to know?”

I glared at her in the rear view mirror but she just smirked back.

"Dad, Kevin's being mean to me again."

"Kev, why are you being mean to our girl?"

Our girl, yeah get him. Three weeks and I'm still here; the longest lasting agent, apparently I was supposed to feel honored by this; what I felt was put upon.

I've done everything in my power to get released from my duties, but nothing I did worked. For some stupid ass reason this crazy chick really liked me. That first day she'd ran into her dad's private office and told him how great I was and how they had to keep me, you could've blown me over with a feather.

"Sir, her and Casey are up to one of their harebrained schemes and I'm putting my foot down."

"Aw come on Kev, live a little; the girls are young and carefree let them have their fun."

He's bat shit crazy too, all of them are; that's another thing. The little hellion went behind my back and invited Casey to the fucking White House.

Now you've got to understand, ever since I informed my family about my new position, my sister has been after me to meet Danielle. I had no intentions on ever bringing that about, but the little sneak made an end run around me. Now for the past three weekends these two have been tormenting my ass with their crap. I gave Danielle the stink eye as she poked her tongue out at me.

"Brat."

"Asshat."

"Come now you two play nice."

Yeah, I so love being scolded by the leader of the free world like I was a recalcitrant toddler. His new thing was having me stay over for dinner with them. I'm not sure, but I think she has something to do with that. My nosy ass sister had probably told her that my family wasn't in the city and I was all alone in my condo, which is just how I liked it.

The first time he'd offered I got out of it, but almost every night since then he's hoodwinked me into staying. He'd used my growing weakness against me. His daughter.

"I'm afraid one of these nights she's going to jump out the damn window again. She gets restless you know poor kid; isolated here as she is."

That had struck fear in my heart, because in the last few weeks while she'd been busy working my last damn nerve, she'd also been doing something else, something way more dangerous, to me anyway. She'd been climbing her way into my heart. So after he dropped his little bombshell on me I'd spent every night until bedtime hanging out with the president and his beautiful daughter.

At night alone in my bed I tried to talk myself down from my craziness; there was nowhere to go with this. Yes I found her beautiful and spirited and effervescent and sexy as fuck, but she was the daughter of the president of the untied states and if that wasn't bad enough, she was twelve years my junior. It would never happen.

Chapter 3

"Don't do it babe." I uttered the words under my breath knowing they were futile; this is exactly what I've been trying to avoid, just this sort of situation. Danielle, Casey and a horde of their friends are partying at a club in Virginia; the good thing was that it was one of those places that catered to the elite. The bad; there was booze.

I'd never seen her drink before and now I knew why; two shots and a beer, and she was gone. Her friends were egging her on to climb on top the bar and shake her stuff.

Like hell; they were way too many young bloods in here with their tongues hanging out.

"Fuck, get down from there." I started moving forward as soon as she went topside; there were other agents here, which is the norm in a situation like this, but I was lead. When the first hand reached out and grabbed her I saw red; my vision went in and out for a second and I was suddenly there.

"Get your hands off her asshole." I flung the offensive limb aside as I reached up to lift her down. She wasn't too steady on the killer heels she was wearing; dude decided he was tired of living and threw a punch, which I blocked and countered with a roundhouse which sent him flying back into the crowd.

Fuck, what you would expect to happen happened and pretty soon there was a free for all. I grabbed her down and looked around for my sister; this is the worst fucking position for me to be in.

"Go Jackson we've got the others get her out."

Bottles as well as fists were flying; it was only a matter of time before furniture joined the melee.

I pulled her behind me using my body as a shield as we went; as soon as we were clear I pulled her around the side of the building away from any foot traffic and prying eyes.

"What the fuck was that; what did I say before we got here; do you not fucking listen ever are you that stupid?" I ranted at her for what felt like hours, but was only a few seconds at most, until I realized she wasn't giving me any of her usual sass. I looked down at her, she huddled against the wall, scared, that's what I saw, pure fear.
