The Bad Boys' Reluctant Woman(37)
“Let’s dance,” he said.
“I’m working, Connor.”
“I’ll pay them the difference.” There were a few whistles and catcalls as he spun her onto the floor. Her scent washed over him calming his nerves. Jake and Brent were waiting by the bar as he escorted her on the dance floor. The song changed, and Connor pulled her close against his body, his hand going down to her ass.
“You were right,” he said.
“About what?”
“I’m not a sick bastard. I just want you.” He slammed his lips down on hers and pressed a leg between her thighs.

Jake signalled to Vicki for a beer watching Connor with Zoe. The crowd had opened around them. Their dancing catching everyone’s attention. It was explicit and made his own cock thicken. Stefan stood next to him.
“Is that Zoe? The girl everyone is talking about?”
“Yeah,” Jake and Brent said.
“Why are you two watching and not up there with him?” Stefan asked.
“Because he needs this. She calms him in a way we don’t understand.”
“I can see that.”
Connor eased her away then swung her back close to him. Observing the couple Jake saw they were totally into each other. The rest of the world didn’t matter. Zoe looked fucking hot with the jeans they’d brought moulding to the fine shape of her ass.
“He deserves some happiness. You all do. I want to meet this girl.”
The track ended, and then another one started up. Connor kept her locked in his arms. Jake watched his friend bury his head against her neck. It looked like he was trying breathe in her scent.
Minutes passed, and finally Connor made his way over to them. His hands were around her waist. Jake saw her kiss Connor’s cheek then go over to Brent, kissing his lips, and finally to him. Her smile was bright, her face flushed with happiness. She leaned down and brushed her lips against his. He loved this side of her. Jake knew he was a goner for the rest of his life. He would willingly walk to the ends of the earth for her.
“Zoe, Stefan Jackson wants to meet you. Stefan, this is our Zoe.” He pointed between the two.
“Nice to meet you,” she said.
“I’m sorry to break up the introductions, Zoe, but can you help me? I’m swamped here,” Vicki said, over the bar.
“I’m coming.” Zoe turned to Jake. “You’ll be waiting to take me home?” she asked.
“Home? To our place, baby,” Jake said.
She smiled. “I’ll be waiting.”
Zoe moved back around the bar leaving all four men alone.
“Does she pass inspection, Stefan?” Connor asked.
“Yes.”
Stefan moved away from their group.
“What’s going on with you, Connor?” Jake asked.
“Nothing. I’m just not in the mood for Stefan and all of his circus politics is all.”
Connor grabbed the beer and made his way to the end of the bar.
“You know something happened to him as a kid,” Brent said.
“I know. I just don’t know what.”
“He’s been like it for a while.”
“We’re thirty-five, Brent. It is time he got over it or talked to us.”
“It is one of the reasons why I know he’s hiding something serious.”
Jake frowned, turning to his friend. “What do you mean?
“What could be so bad that he prefers to keep it to himself?”

Brent was waiting for Zoe to finish up. Earlier, Connor had dropped him off so he could grab his own truck. The other two were waiting at home for when she arrived. His cock twitched at the thought of how their evening could progress. He wanted her so damn bad. Considering The Dugout had been busy there had been no problem with people starting fights. The last of the customers were leaving. Zoe came out after two in the morning, looking tired. The moment she him, he saw her smile.
“You waited for me.”
“We told you we would.”
“I don’t see a we, Brent. I see a you.”
Brent smiled taking her into his arms. “The guys are back at the house. How are you feeling, baby?”
“Tired, exhausted, happy, and a little nervous.”
“Why nervous?”
“Because I don’t know what’s going to happen, and that scares me sometimes.”
He folded his arms over his chest, staring at her.
“What?” she asked.
“You gave in pretty quickly. Are you regretting your decision to be with us?”
“No, I didn’t give in. I just got tired of running from what I actually wanted.”
Brent wondered if there was more to it. When nothing came to him, he helped her into his truck. His was smaller than Connor’s truck and with less room. He was only able to move one passenger around.
