Techy (Devil Souls MC Book 2)(52)
“I’m an angel,” I say in a singsong voice.
Jordan’s face splits into a grin. “That you are, angel.” He kisses me, and I settle on his chest.
My mom watches us both with a happy grin. “I’m so happy for you, baby.”
“Thanks, Mom.”
“So, I have a woman’s center to go to. I have a room there, and I will help take care of the women.” My mother stands up and bends over Jordan and me. She hugs us both.
Then Vinny knocks on the door. He must be taking my mother to the center.
Jordan and I both asked her to stay with us, but she wants to be on her own, working her own way. She will be only staying at the center until she has enough saved for her own apartment.
I don’t blame her for wanting to be independent again. She was dependent upon my dad and drugs for a very long time. She didn’t have a choice in the matter and horrible things happened to her. Horrible things I witnessed. It’s a good thing she doesn’t remember everything that happened to her. I understand why she wants to be on her own.
“I’ll call you later, Alisha.” She waves and walks out the door, leaving me alone with Jordan.
“Thank you, Jordan, for giving me her,” I whisper and tuck my face against the side of his neck, trying to keep the tears at bay.
“She came to me, angel. I just led her in the right direction.”
I nod and sink into his arms. From crying on and off all day long, I am emotionally drained. I just want to sleep the night away.
“Sleep.”
At his word, I fall asleep in his arms. A perfect ending to an amazing day.
Four weeks later
“Angel, are you ready?” Jordan calls from downstairs.
I finish fixing my hair. “Yeah!” I yell back and bend down to slip my flats on.
Everyone has thrown Jordan and me a party in celebration of our pregnancy. The moment the girls found out? Everyone found out.
I walk down the stairs to where Jordan is waiting on me. He smiles when he sees me coming down. Smiling back, I go straight into his arms. I curl my arms around his waist and lean back to look at his face.
“Angel, did I tell you today how beautiful you are?”
Those words coming from that man mean everything, because he is everything to me. “Thank you, my handsome man.”
Jordan smirks at me cockily before kissing me on the forehead. “Let’s go get this party started.”
I’m nervous about the party. I’ll be seeing a lot of the members plus meeting a lot I haven’t met yet. Lane will be there and I know him well, but I haven’t personally talked to him. He seems nice enough. He’s bringing his daughter. I’ve heard how she came into his care. The mother was his girlfriend for a couple of months, and when he saw her shooting up, he left her. He didn’t know she was pregnant with his child until a couple of months ago. I haven’t gotten the full story, and it’s something I’m not supposed to know at all. They found her in a cage in a basement, about to be used for ransom. Ever since, she’s been with Lane, and I have to admit that that makes me happy. That mother is a piece of shit.
Jordan leads me to the truck, and then we are off to the clubhouse. I don’t have to wear a bulletproof vest because I won’t be getting back on the bike until I have had my babies.
Today, the women will be on a mission to ask Alisha what kind of wedding she wants. I want the details because I want to make sure she has the wedding of her dreams. I’m going to surprise the shit out of her with this wedding. I want to just marry her now and be done with it, but she deserves this moment.
Alisha, has been a lot happier since her mom has been back around, and that makes me feel fucking amazing. Every time she fucking smiles, it makes me feel like I am a hundred feet tall.
She has come such a long way from the moment I met her online until now. It’s like night and day. Even while talking to her online via video chat, I could see her sadness, but I didn’t know how bad it was. I kick myself every day because I didn’t catch what was happening until it was almost too late.
Fuck me, seeing her face over the video chat when she walked into that kitchen will haunt me forever. I will never regret ridding her father from this world. I do regret not making him suffer. Someone like that doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as Alisha. But I couldn’t take a chance of him coming back and hurting what was mine.
Alisha is mine. Body, soul, heart—every single part of her is mine. She will always be mine until we die. She is going to be the mother of my kids, my wife.
I pull into the clubhouse, and the gate slams closed the instant I drive through it. We can’t take any chances of some fucker trying to shoot at us because the gate is partially open. Torch and Kayla were shot at through the gate bars, so that’s why we had bulletproof glass installed—to make sure something like that doesn’t happen again.
