Techy (Devil Souls MC Book 2)(19)

Uh oh.

“Aww, look at them trying to protect their women,” the man cackles.

I shiver at the sound. He sounds evil.

“Do you want to die?” Kyle says to the man.

The room goes silent. My heart is pounding out of my chest; I can feel it in my throat.

“What do you guys do? Pass them around?”

I hear someone walking, and I hold tighter to Jordan’s hips. He rests his hands on top of mine. I have a bad feeling that what’s going to happen next won’t be any good.

“Must be good pussy for you to protect it like that.” He cackles again.

Then Jordan has the man by the neck, a gun to his head. He is face-to-face with the man. “You will die. You might not know when, but it will happen.”

The man laughs again, but I can see the slight fear in his eyes. The men standing behind him are all staring at Chrystal and me. I back up, taking Chrystal with me. An arm wraps around my back. I look down at the hand on my waist and then up to Vinny. His other hand is on the other side of Chrystal.

Butch is standing closer to me. I can feel the rage coming off him. These men don’t play around. Even though they are nice to me, they are deadly. For some reason, I’m not scared.

Jordan grinds the gun against the man’s head.

“You will pay for this,” the president of the sleazeballs says.

“War,” Kyle states.

My entire body freezes. Chrystal gasps, and I know now that this is as bad as I thought it was. Butch moves closer to me, and Trey does the same thing to Chrystal.

“War,” another man says.

Lane moves up to Kyle. Lane’s men nod in confirmation.

Jordan lets the man go and steps back while looking at him. Once he’s directly in front of me, I grab him again.

Did I just cause a war between these clubs? These men are evil. They take what they can’t have and don’t give any mercy. These men are sleazeballs pure and simple. Just looking at them makes me want to vomit.

The men file out, never once taking their eyes off Jordan and the men. The president winks and licks his lips at Chrystal, who is now in Kyle’s arms. The president stops and turns to look at me.

“It seems your father owes me some money,” he says. “I will be around to collect, sweetheart.” He chuckles and walks out of the room.

“Beyond dead man,” Butch says again.

What did he mean that my father owed him money? From the grave, my father is haunting me and causing me trouble. I don’t want to think about it, but it seems this man is after me.

The door slams shut, and I let out a deep breath.

Jordan twists around and pulls me into his arms, pressing my head to his chest. “You okay, angel?”

I lean back and look at him. “I’m fine.” I smile, and he returns it.

“These fuckers came here for trouble. I heard them talking outside,” Lane tells everyone.

Kyle nods and says, “They fucking got it.”

“Dead men,” Butch pipes in.

My eyes widen at the incredibility of all of this. Jordan kisses the top of my head, and I sink into the kiss. Even with everything going down, there’s no other place I want to be more than in his arms.

You would think I would be scared, but I’m not, because even with all this going down, I feel safe. Crazy thing to think with death threats being thrown around, but call me crazy.

“Meeting in the a.m. Bring Alisha. Lane, you come and bring your daughter because this involves you now,” Kyle tells everyone.

Everyone nods, including Lane’s men. One catches me looking and winks. I blush and press my face into Jordan’s chest. His body starts moving in laughter.

I hear the loud thunder of motorcycles driving away.

“Tim, lock this place up. Let’s roll out!” Kyle yells to someone across the room.

We all move toward the door together. I’m pressed against Jordan’s back. Kyle is beside us, with Chrystal to his back. The men surround us.

The door opens. Kyle and Jordan walk out together. I follow closely behind. What if they start shooting at us while we are on the bike? We’re screwed. Jordan takes my hand and leads me over to his bike. He climbs on first, and I start to climb on behind him, but then he pulls me back. He grabs my hips and lifts me onto his lap so I’m straddling his waist. He grabs my legs and pulls me so I am flush against him, my legs resting on his hips.

“Why am I sitting like this?” I ask him.

His hand goes to my jaw. “To protect you in case they shoot at us. You will not be hurt, angel.” He kisses my forehead.

He spreads his legs a bit and I fall down until my butt is touching the seat. I wrap my arms around his stomach, my face to his chest. Kyle is parked right beside us. Chrystal is sitting the exact same way I am. She waves, and I wave back. We probably look foolish sitting like this, but I need his touch right now. I have to admit that the men scared me. I’m scared of the unknown and what can happen. What those men can do.
