Summer's Indiscretion(Divine Creek Ranch 7)(18)
“Y–Yes. He asked me out a couple of days ago, and last week, too. I’m not attracted to him.”
A slow smile crossed his face at her admission. “A pretty boy like him? I would think most women would go for the model-type good looks he has.”
“I’m not attracted to young, pretty-boy types. He’s very nice, but he’s not the type of man I want.” She crossed her arms and then dropped them, evidently noting that the action pressed her breasts up into her neckline. He suppressed a chuckle that she was making him “work for it.”
“What type of man do you want?”
Summer’s cheeks flushed as his fingertips stroked up her silky flesh to the indentation at the back of her knee. He longed to let his hand slide farther north until he reached the hot, slick heat at the apex of her thighs. His mouth watered at the thought.
“I prefer taller, more solidly built men. But you know what I like even more?”
“What?” he asked as he rose from the step so he could look her in the eye, regretting that he had to remove his hand to do so. He made up for the loss of contact by standing close to her.
Sparks ignited in her eyes. “A man who trusts me.” Then she balled up her little fist and punched him in the stomach. He grunted at the impact, impressed that her little clout had as much strength as it did. “If you’d eavesdropped a little longer you would’ve heard me turn him down.” Her chin jutted a little in irritation, and she looked just like an adorable little kitten with her back up and claws out.
Kemp grasped her upper arms and pulled her to him. He wanted to growl in satisfaction as her breasts pillowed against his chest and her scent filled his nostrils, fueling the lust he battled with. He meant to apologize again and ask her permission before he kissed her, but all his good intentions flew out the window when her lips parted to say something and a moan came out instead. That small sound spoke volumes.
He cupped her jaw in his hands, and her silky hair twined in his fingers. A thunderous wave of desire crashed through him, demanding satisfaction, but he took her mouth tenderly, enjoying the feel of her soft lips under his. She shuddered and sighed as her body yielded to him, and he wrapped his arms around her.
His cock ached to be inside her, and he slid his hands down her back and grasped her derriere firmly and pressed her against him. Her dazed eyes opened, and he released her from the kiss. She laid her head against his chest, panting rapidly.
A soft click got his attention, and he looked up as Ace came out the front door. Ace paused and watched intently. When Kemp nodded, he came forward. He buried his nose in her fragrant hair before brushing it from her shoulder. He kept his eyes on Kemp, probably trying to judge his reaction to the contact, the sharing of the moment. Kemp smiled when a delicate tremble rippled through her lush body pressed close to his.
They’d talked about sharing over the last couple of years, after seeing the happiness their friends had found. He’d liked Kathleen Stevens well enough, but she and Ace had started out as a couple and he could never picture himself as more than a third wheel with them.
After Ace had broached the subject one day of forming a threesome with her, Kemp had considered talking with Kathleen, but only halfheartedly. She had been beautiful, voluptuous, and always friendly toward him, but her relationship with Ace had already been well established, and he’d felt at a disadvantage.
Additionally, he’d been worried about her ability to handle the physical relationship. He and Ace were both large men, and not only in stature. Ace had tried to reassure him that they would manage, and just about the time Kemp had changed his mind about talking with her, she’d disappeared. He’d felt bad for Ace after Kathleen had left Divine suddenly. Ace had been in a slump for weeks afterward.
If it didn’t work out with Summer, Kemp knew he was in for a world of hurt. He wanted her, and he knew Ace wanted her just as badly. There was the potential for someone to lose big if it didn’t work out. The big difference this time around was that he felt like he and Ace were on even ground with her.
Ace pressed his lips to Summer’s bare shoulder above her neckline, and Kemp watched her face. Her eyelids shuttered closed again, and she moaned through parted lips. Her hips flexed against them, and she trembled slightly in Kemp’s arms. Ace slid his hands up her sides and traced them over her shoulders and her collarbone. She shook life a leaf in the wind and rested her head against Ace’s shoulder as he pressed closely against her back.
Ace pressed a kiss to her cheekbone and whispered, “Kemp didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, kitten. Can you forgive him?”
