Summer's Alpha(10)

By:K.S. Martin

"Better than Melanie?" I ask and grin.

"Who?" I laugh because even though I'm no expert, I think that was damn good. "Just think it will only get better. They always say sex is better when you know each other better."

"How much better could we know each other?" I'm tracing a pattern on his shoulder with my fingertip. The tremors that were quaking through me have stopped now and he pulls out of me. He rolls to the side and pulls me with him my back to his front. "I mean really." I say. "We've known each other since we were two."

"When we get to know each other's bodies better, for instance, half an hour ago I didn't know that if I said things with my mouth against your ear," his lips were moving against my ear now. "That it turned you on." I trembled all over. "There are probably a lot of little things that turn you on and I plan on finding every single one of them." I smiled. "And when you wrapped your legs around me, you found out that it turned me on."

"Yeah." I said softly. "Jackson?" I turned around to face him. "I really do love you and I trust you." He nodded. "This is for real right? You didn't just do this to get the alpha position. You did this because … "

"I did this because I love you Summer. I told you, I go where you go. If you don't want to stay here and you would rather go home, we'll go." I shook my head. "Okay then, now for the serious stuff." I furrowed my eyebrows. "How do you feel about pups?" I bit my lip. Pups? Was he serious? We just mated five minutes ago. Oh, we just mated.

"Do you think I'm … ?" Jackson smiled and leaned over to kiss my cheek.

"No Summer I don't, I meant do you want pups? Someday? And how many? Kelly's right, her pup will need a playmate. There weren't any at the meeting. We need to get some. It's just not a pack without a bunch of pups running around causing trouble. We can't do it anymore." Jackson looked down at me and grinned. "They put us in charge." He whispered conspiratorially. I giggled.

"I know. Can you believe it? Jackson, seriously, you have to be the alpha now. You are the leader of this pack. You'll have to take care of all the pack business. The bills, the arguments, and all of the other crap that goes with it, it's on you." He nodded.

"It's on you too Summer, you're my mate and that means it's on you too."

"Yeah, okay first order of business for the alpha's of the East View pack … "

"Is to go get my damn truck." He gave me his sad puppy face. "Then we get Tim and his new mate to come here, so our kids have a variety of cousins to play with." I nod. My eyes are having trouble staying open. Jackson pulls me close and holds me against him. I rest my head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat. It lulls me to sleep.

I wake to warm kisses trailing over my shoulder and down my arm. He kisses my fingers one by one and looks up to see me watching him. His eyes are pulsing amber. "You were dreaming again and it's too early for breakfast." I nibble my lip. You would think that I wouldn't have that dream after what we just did. "What happens in the dream?" He's nibbling on my wrist. "Tell me."

"I'm not sure which one I had, I don't remember."

"Tell me anyway." I know my cheeks flush because my whole face feels like it's on fire. I shake my head. "We're mates now. No more lying, no more evading the truth, we share everything. Tell me what happens in the dream and maybe I can make your dream come true." He nips my thumb and I gasp. I feel my core getting wet again, readying for him. I swallow hard and take a few deep breaths.

"We're both sweaty, out of breath and naked."

"Good start." He sucks on my finger and I tremble. I close my eyes before going on because mate or not, he's still Jackson and I'm still Summer, this is embarrassing.

"You have me pushed against a wall and you're against my back. I can feel your body against my back, you're pressing into me, and it's turning me on. You lean against me and you say right in my ear, ‘I'm going to bury myself so deep inside you Summer that you won't know where you end and I begin.' Then I come in the dream and sometimes for real."

"In your sleep?" I nod. "That's hot." I can't help the smile that breaks out on my face. He thinks it's sexy and I think it's embarrassing. "What's the other one, you said there are two.

"In the other one, I'm using my tongue on you. I think the first one is a wish and the second one is more of an instructional video." Jackson laughs.

Chapter 7

"Autumn?" I say into Shirley's store phone.

"Summer? Is that you? Where are you? Are you okay? Is Jackson with you? He's been missing for days. His parents are losing it."

"Shh, chill dude." I laugh. "It's me, I'm in East View. I'm fine and Jackson is fine. Please tell his parents he's fine. He said that you mated with Tim. Do you want to come here and join our pack? No pressure but Jackson needs a beta because we're the alphas here now."

"You are huh?" That was my dad's voice. "When were you going to let me know that you were alive Summer? I've been worried sick. Your sister and Frank are missing too; do you know anything about that?" He sounded reasonably calm and not nearly as angry as I knew that he was.

"Daddy? How are you?" I'm surprised and I stall trying to figure out what to say to him. My stupid sister must have let him sneak up on her.

"Just fine, I have two daughters missing, a missing pack member, a son that won't come out of the woods, a disobedient daughter that decided it was a good idea to mate a beta that I didn't approve of and apparently a daughter that is orchestrating the whole thing from East View!" There it was. There was the anger that I expected. His voice boomed by the time he said ‘East View.' I jerked the phone away from my ear. That hurt. Jackson looked up and smirked. He'd told me to wait until later to call that my dad was probably still at home but I wouldn't listen. Always trust your alpha. I grimaced and put the phone back to my ear.

"Okay daddy yes, I did all of that but keep in mind that you backed me into a corner." I stay perfectly calm because I am the female alpha of East View pack. He is no longer in charge of me. "I did not want to be treated like livestock. I love Jackson, period. Just so you are in the loop, Jackson is the current alpha of the East View pack, and I am his mate." I heard the growl, it was familiar, and if I were at home, I would be backing down the hall to my bedroom right now. Shirley was beside me at the counter. She sensed that I was nervous and brought me a cup of tea. Yep, tea cures everything in Shirley's world. I sip the jasmine green tea, its good. Jackson is on the couch speaking to Larry about pack business and my job was to get more members. "Kelly is here with me. She and Frank were passing through town." I turn the wand on the blinds because the sun is starting to shine brightly in the window and is blinding me. "He'd just finished beating her up again when she finally decided that she'd had enough. Kelly put a letter opener in Frank's heart. Frank is dead. Kelly is staying with me just so you know. She is pregnant." I heard him smile. "You should also know that this is her fourth pregnancy and that Frank beat the last three pups, your grandchildren, out of her." He didn't say anything but I heard a low angry growl rumble. I told you before that he beat her and you wouldn't listen. I didn't want that for myself and I don't want it for Kelly. I'm sorry if I disobeyed Daddy but I felt that it was necessary to my safety and my survival." I swallowed and paused. He said nothing. That was a power play; he was trying to make me nervous. I wasn't falling for that one. I took a deep cleansing breath and let it out. I put all business in my non-emotional voice. "I wanted to speak to you anyway Daddy about an alliance with the East View pack. Would it interest you?"

"Of course, you know I am always interested in an alliance." He was back to the pack leader part of his personality. There was no emotion and all alpha in his voice.

"Well, I'm offering you one. My pack needs fresh new blood. This pack has many older members and we are interested in rebuilding our ranks with younger members that will be raising pups. I would like Autumn and Tim to come here with your blessing if they want as a gesture of your good faith."

"Fine and as a gesture of yours, I want you to send Kelly home." That was the voice he used when dealing with sales representatives.

"No. Kelly stays. There is a very strong and responsible wolf here already courting her. His name is Earl. He is completely smitten with Kelly and Kelly with him."

"Summer, he will kill the pup, it belongs to an alpha. I want her here where she will be taken care of."

"She will be taken care of Dad. Jackson and I will make sure of it. We will do a better job than you did. Keep in mind that her alpha mate killed his own pups. You sent her with him for an alliance Dad. You are just as responsible for their deaths as Frank." I shouldn't have said that. He will hold it against me.
