“I’ve missed you as well, Evan, too much.”
Maybe I can be the man that she deserves. We stay silent for a moment looking out the large glass doors, the street lights illuminating the room.
“What happened tonight?” Sienna asks.
Not sure how to answer her so I say nothing and stay silent.
“Maybe you should go, Evan,” she says, sounding annoyed and pushing away from me.#p#分页标题#e#
Oh no, she doesn’t. I pull her back against me, my body wrapping around her. “I’m staying tonight; I miss sharing a bed with you, Sienna. Let me stay tonight then you can kick me out.”
She lets out a sigh, “I don’t want to kick you out.” Her confession was so quiet I almost missed it.
“I never want to leave either, sweetheart,” I whisper, kissing her shoulder.
We both fall asleep wrapped around each other.
Waking up the next morning alone in Sienna’s bed, I guess our night is over. I sneak back to my bedroom where I take a shower and try to work out these feelings I have for her.

“Morning,” I say, directing it to Sienna, who is sitting at the breakfast bar eating some fruit.
“Morning,” she says, sunnily.
Walking past her, I let my fingers graze along her arm, and watch her shiver at my touch.
Her green eyes are looking up at me when she says, “Thank you for the flowers.”
Flowers? “I didn’t send you flowers, but fuck, now I wish I had.”
Her cheeks turn red from embarrassment. “Who sent me flowers then?”
“Sebastien did,” Derrick answers Sienna’s question as he walks into the kitchen.
My hands ball into fists hearing his name.
“Really?” A smile lights up her face.
“Yeah, he felt sad not being able to catch up properly last night,” Derricks says, as his eyes bore into mine. “I suggested flowers would be a good idea,” he continued, while giving me a triumphant smile.
“I should go and thank him; they are beautiful.”
Once Sienna was out of earshot, Derrick turns to me with fire in his eyes. “Not sure what game you’re playing Evan, but it won’t involve Sienna. She deserves to explore her singledom, so unless you want more than just a quick fuck with my friend, I suggest you back the fuck away from her and never pull a stunt like you did last night again.”
I’m in total shock at Derrick’s confrontation. He is usually so relaxed and easy going. Seeing him go into protective mode over Sienna was impressive.
“And you think this Sebastien guy is good enough for her?”
“Of course nobody will be good enough for my girl; men suck, but she deserves to find out doesn’t she? If you care about her, then stop whatever hold you have on her, and let her move on. We both know you don’t want a girlfriend, and even if you do, could you stay faithful when you have all those women after you? My girl deserves not to worry about her man. I was there when Beau cheated; I will not let her go through it again. You hear me?”
“Loud and clear, Derrick, I hear you loud and clear.” I can’t be pissed at him for voicing his concerns because they are the same as I’ve been thinking. I don’t say another word as Derrick storms out of the kitchen.
“What was that all about?” Axel asks.
“Nothing,” I say, grabbing an apple.
Axel doesn’t look convinced. “He’s only looking out for her,” he adds, pouring himself a coffee.
I ignore him because I don’t need another lecture or someone to tell me that she deserves better than me. I get it!
“I know you like Sienna; I know you probably have done something with her, last night it was pretty obvious by the way you acted. It surprised me though, I haven’t seen you that jealous, not since Hailey.”
I can’t believe he brought my ex into this.
“Nothing is going on man,” I say, patting him on his shoulder.
“Okay, fine nothing’s going on. So you wouldn’t mind if I maybe show her a good time then.”#p#分页标题#e#
That’s it. I’ve had enough of other men trying to take what’s mine. Grabbing him by the shirt I push him up against the kitchen cupboards. “You don’t fucking touch her,” I growl.
Axel bursts out laughing. “Wow, never seen anyone get so riled up over nothing.” Pushing me away he adds, “Man, I’m not my brother, I don’t cut anyone’s grass, but your reaction just proves to me she’s more than nothing.”
Slamming my hand against the kitchen cupboard, I mumble, “I’m not good enough for her.”
“Why? Because you’re a rock star, a successful businessman or because you’re a good guy underneath? I think most women would believe you’re a catch,” he says, punching me in the arm.
