Styx (Walk Of Shame 2nd Generation #2)(30)

I just hope like hell that Jase doesn’t decide to be an asshole and get me fired.

After I have a few moments to myself, I step out of the bathroom just to have Jase waiting outside.

“What the fuck was that?” He follows beside me as I walk in an attempt to lose him. “You’re fucking this guy over me? He’s a male stripper. He doesn’t even deserve your time, dammit.”

“Fuck off, Jase.” I stop abruptly and turn around to face him. “Don’t you dare think that you have the right to judge Styx.”

He laughs as if I just said something funny. “Styx. Real fucking nice. Sounds like a real man to me.”

I shove my finger in his chest and dig it in as I look him in the eyes. “Oh he is,” I say firmly. “More of a man than you’ll ever be.” My eyes trail down to his not so big bulge. “Styx seems to make every man other than him look small. Trust me.”

“Oh come on. Don’t do me like that.” He follows me as I begin walking again. “Meadow . . . just let me take you out with me tonight. I’ll show you what you’ve been missing. We’ll have fun and you’ll forget all about . . .”

He stops talking and lets out an angry grunt when I walk away from him to join Mandy and Dani as if he was never even talking to begin with.

This is going to be the longest day of my life . . .

Styx

THE BRUNETTE DANCING IN FRONT of me, has been eye-fucking me ever since I walked out on that stage for my first performance. She’s barely taken her eyes off me the whole night and it doesn’t seem as if she plans to.

She’s dressed in a short dress that barely covers her red thong and she keeps lifting it slightly in the front in an attempt to get my attention.

It’s been working, but not in the way I’m sure she hopes for.

Kash appears next to me, out of breath as he watches the way she’s watching me as if she wants to tear me apart with her teeth.

He slaps my back and chuckles. “You going to give her what she wants, man? She’s been working all damn night to get your attention. I’ve never seen so much desperation in my damn life.”

I reach up and wipe the sweat off my forehead, while pulling my jeans back up my hips. “No. I’m good.”

Breathing heavily, I rush past the herd of women and over to the bar, grabbing the beer from Sara as she slides it my way with a crazy smirk.

Tonight has been total insanity and I’ve been completely distracted with keeping my eye on the clock and trying to avoid my stalker for the night. I told Meadow I was meeting her after her shift and I plan to be there no matter what it takes.

I keep my word.

Walk Of Shame will have to wait.

I’ve never been late when my father gets off work and I won’t be for Meadow neither.

“Woah there, gorgeous. Looking a little sweaty. Your stalker wearing you out already? Want me to get the water pitcher to cool you off?” She winks and laughs as I tilt the beer back and then pour some over my head to cool off.

I’m that damn hot.

Her throwing water on us is the highlight of her damn night. She did it once a few months back and now it’s become almost a nightly routine.

Sometimes just to fuck with us, she throws some ice in it. That’s why you want to keep on her good side. Ice does not do the body good. Especially the most important part and the way she’s looking at me now gives me the idea that there’d be ice in my pitcher for annoying her.

“Nope, I got it. What time is it?”

“Someone sure has been asking about the time an awful lot tonight. What . . . Do you think I don’t have better things to do than check the time every twenty minutes for your ass?” She walks over to the register to grab her phone with a roll of her eyes. “It’s a quarter to eleven. Why? It’s not like-”

“Shit.” I slam my empty beer down on the bar in front of her when she walks back over. “Tell Cale I’ll be back in thirty. I gotta go take care of something important.”

“Styx,” she yells after me, when I take off through the crowd in a hurry. “What the hell. You’re in the middle of a damn show.”

“Was!” I yell back, before pushing past Lane and out the back door, shirtless with my jeans still unbuttoned.

Grabbing my helmet, I straddle my bike and rev the engine, ignoring Lane’s attempts to get my attention.

I’m just about to speed off, when I feel a hand run down my bare back. “Where you headed, Styx? I can be some pretty good company.”

Growling under my breath, I let out a frustrated breath and shake my head as the tall brunette walks around me, trailing her hand along my body on the way.
