“Famished. Do you think you can handle my cousin Janie at dinner?” Flynn asked her and smiled at her.
“If you can.” Penelope said laughing, and gave him one final kiss before going down for dinner. They had a lot to learn together as they discovered more about each other over the years, but instead of fearing it, and worrying about the future she was starting to look forward to it.
She had a feeling her father would enjoy her next letter. Shaking her head as she thought about how her father knew what she needed, and that maybe she needed to learn to listen and compromise more.
Looking at Flynn, she realized that her little self-discovery was one she’d just keep to herself. The man had a big enough ego without her help. Squeezing his arm as they walked down to eat dinner with his cousin, she promised herself that she’d focus on trying to trust him more, and communicate better.
Their eyes met and she forgot everything but the way he was looking at her. The two of them were meant to be, and when he leaned down to kiss her before going into the dining room, everything disappeared except the way he made her feel.
All felt right in her world.
