Shafted(Devil's Blaze MC 4)(79)

That’s when my lover destroys me. Just like that. My back to Jax’s front. His arms wrapped around my waist and breasts, his cock deep inside of me, a second orgasm melting into a third, as his teeth are biting into my shoulder. I see stars and lose myself so that all I feel is him and nothing else exists, that’s when I know, that’s when I’m absolutely sure. There will never be anyone else in this world for me but Jax. There’s no going back.

He owns me, body and soul.

Chapter Fifty-Eight

New Years Eve

Jax

“Explain again why this has to be done?” Pop’s rides my ass.

“Old man, you’re wearing on my last nerve. I told you your security sucked. That fence is so fucking weak, I wouldn’t be surprised if you couldn’t drive through it on a bike.”

“You sure are emptying out the bank account. Hope you fucking got a plan to make more green.”

“It’s covered,” I tell him, not adding that most of this shit is coming from my pocket and not the club’s. Skull takes care of his men, and fuck, I’ve never had anyone to spend it on but myself, and I sure as hell don’t need much. I watch as Bree comes into the room. Her hair is in a messy bun on the top of her head, she’s wearing flannel pajamas in peach and green with a gray shirt that says, Sleep Machine. I’ve seen women dressed and undressed in a hundred different ways, but Bree like this would be my pick hands down. She takes my breath away and it’s probably better, because she’s not even trying. “Besides, protecting what is important shouldn’t have a fucking price tag,” I tell the old man.

“You may grow on me yet, boy. You just might,” he says, and I can’t do anything but shake my head. Bree and I have been here for two weeks now. We spent Christmas here, and I swear if I didn’t know better I would have thought at one point the old man cried. Skull and some of the boys came over. Pops had his girls and Bree all here, and there was a big dinner. I gave Bree a diamond engagement ring, and I think it made her grandfather happier than she was. Though she did show me her appreciation when we were alone later that night. There’s only one dark spot surrounding any of us right now.

“Any word from Roxy?” Bree asks as she makes it to the table. She leans down to kiss me and her breath is fresh with the taste of toothpaste and woman.

“Not a fucking thing. I’m telling you it’s not like Roxanne. She’d always check in and she’d never just leave without letting us know where she’s going,” Pops reiterates.

“I sent some prospects down there, they didn’t find a trace of her,” I tell him again, needlessly.

“I’m worried,” Bree sighs, sitting down in my lap. I reach down and get a fork full of my omelet to feed her. She rolls her eyes at me, but she eats it.

“You two are disgusting,” the old man grumbles. Bree and I just grin.

“Get used to it. It’s not about to change,” I tell him, and it’s not. Fuck, if I could keep her in my lap with my hand feeding her all the time, I would.

“What’s your plans today, Baby?” I run my hand down her arm, trying to behave in front of the old man.

“I need to run a few errands, including picking up a prescription I had filled. They close early today, so I guess I need to start moving, but it’s cold outside. I was putting it off.”

“I’ll take you.”

“That’d be foolish, you have a bunch of stuff to get done here today, and you promised that you would ring in the New Year with me, I don’t want anything to get in the way of that. I’ll be fine by myself.”

“No, honey. I don’t know what’s going on with Roxanne, but something feels off. Until we know what’s going on, I don’t want you going anywhere alone.” I swallow down my orange juice.

“Jax—”

Pops starts in on her and I chuckle under my breath. “I agree with him girl. You don’t need to be gallivanting everywhere alone. You got a man now.”

“Really Pops? I would hardly call going to the pharmacy gallivanting, though I’m not sure exactly what that is.”

“Quit being smart, Breezy,” he chastises her.

“Fine, then get one of the men to take me into town. That way you still get your work done, and you know I’m not alone. Problem solved,” Bree tells me. Her face is so frustrated at coming up with a compromise, I have an urge to kiss her. So, I do, brief but hard, and with feeling on her beautiful pale pink lips.

“You’re my woman. It’s my job to look after you. I don’t want to give that privilege to another fucker. It’s all mine,” I practically growl at her, but try to tone it down. The day’s young.
