Seducing the Billionaire's Wife(33)

Dinner turned into a casual affair, with the two of them going to her grandparent’s house instead of driving to Wilmington.
“What do you think they’re talking about?” Hannah said as she peered at her grandfather and Drew. They were seated on the back deck, drinking beer and grilling steaks. With a filet of salmon for Hannah, since she’d given up eating red meat years ago.
“What are you worried about them talking about?” her grandmother teased.
“Oh, nothing.” Just the fact that they’d gotten married after not seeing one another for almost a decade. Nothing big. “But you know how men are. They gossip more than women.”
“When’s the big day?” her grandmother asked.
“What big day?”
“The one that the ring you’ve been trying to hide from me says is coming.”
Hannah blushed, turning her ring around and holding it out for her grandmother to inspect. “In a couple of weeks.”
“Oh my!”
“Drew wants to have it at The Magnificent Dunes,” Hannah said, feeling shy all of a sudden.
“Does he?” Grandma nodded. “Beautiful ring. I approve.”
“You don’t think we’re being too hasty?” Oh, God. She was totally going to hell for lying to her grandmother. Okay, so she wasn’t totally lying, but—
The back door opened, and her grandfather came striding through. “Congrats, baby girl.”
“Thank you,” she said as he caught her up in a hug.
Drew closed the door, holding the plate of steaks in one hand. He mouthed an ‘I’m sorry.’ She couldn’t be mad at him. Her grandpa was a pro at getting information out of people. Plus, he had probably spotted the ring like her grandma had.
Sure, she probably shouldn’t have worn it, if she didn’t want them asking questions, but it was a relief for them to know at least part of the truth.
Letting go of Hannah, her grandfather turned to her grandmother. “They plan on having a second ceremony for family at The Magnificent Dunes.”
“I know,” Grandma replied without looking at Hannah. She turned away and started rummaging through the cabinets.
Hannah dropped her gaze to the floor. So going to hell.
“This calls for a celebratory toast.”
Hannah jerked her gaze up in time to see her grandmother holding a bottle of champagne. “Pop the cork, Bud.”
Her grandfather winked at his wife. “My pleasure.”
“I’m sorry. I don’t know how he got it out of me. One minute, we were talking stocks and retirement and the next, he wanted to know my intentions. Then how I planned on providing for you,” Drew said as the duo poured champagne and talked excitedly to one another. “It was an out-of-body experience.”
“Grandpa has a way about him,” Hannah said proudly.
“If he wasn’t ready to retire, I’d hire him. Give Blake a run for his money,” Drew said with a laugh.
“Was he mad?”
Drew set the plate on the table and put his arms around her. “Not at all. He loves you, and if I can make you happy, then he’ll let me keep my balls intact.”
She burst out laughing.
“Baby, I like my balls,” he said.
“I like you. Balls, too,” she said.
“This is not a conversation we should be having at your grandparents’ place.”
“You want to talk about your balls later?”
“Hannah,” he said, a note of warning in his tone.
She glanced over at her grandparents, who were still ignoring them and pulling out dishes and silverware. “You want me to make them feel better?”
“Hell, yes,” he said softly.
“Smile for the camera,” her grandmother chirped.
She and Drew turned, their arms around one another as her grandparents snapped picture after picture. Then they toasted one another and settled down to eat.
By the end of the night, things were back to a comfortable level. Of course, her grandmother had forgiven her for not telling her.
“I promise that the wedding will be amazing, and you’ll get to help me pick everything out.”
Grandma nodded as they walked outside to where Drew was waiting in his car. “Never got to do that before. Your grandfather and I eloped, took two days off, and then came right back to work at The Magnificent Dunes.”
“Drew and I tried to do that, but he… uh, couldn’t stay away.”
“That’s as it should be.”

The rest of the week passed by in a blur. It was like old times with Drew. Except for the mind-blowing sex. That was new. Oh, and waking up in his arms.
Once her grandparents had found out, Drew felt comfortable staying at her place. Yet another reason to love him. He didn’t want to disrespect her or her family.
