Ella winked at him over their head. “I think it would be fun.”
Blake stroked his jaw and pretended to give it great thought while he eyed them. “I don’t know. You look like an unsavory lot who doesn’t deserve weekly grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. I reckon porridge without honey or brown sugar would better.”
Imogen and Finley made twin faces of disgust.
“Mummy, say yes,” Imogen said, and Finley nodded.
Ella grinned. “It’s a yes from me.”
Blake shrugged, holding his hands up in surrender. “If that’s what Mummy says... I have no choice but to go along.”
The little ones cheered, ate the rest of their dinner, and then scampered away to play. They kept a watchful eye on the two of them, even as he convinced Ella to lie down on the blanket with him under the stars.
“Nanny will see to them.”
“Nanny is not their mother,” Ella countered, but there was a smile in her voice.
“They know it. Besides, what’s the point of being married to a billionaire if you can’t enjoy the perks?” he asked, leaning over to kiss her.
Her eyes gleamed with love. “The only perks I want are you and our family. Forever.”
“Then that’s what my darling wife shall have,” he said.
