Seducing Sara
Sara was just an ordinary girl in a lot of ways. She was 25 years old, single and getting ready for her first day of work, choosing a conservative skirt and blazer with a white blouse. It was a perfect go-to outfit for the first day, and she could find out how everyone else dressed without worrying about being too casual. Sara looked at herself in the mirror, and decided it was an acceptable outfit. She always got nervous when she started a new job, she needed the money and didn’t want to screw this up.
Despite having a bachelor of arts, Sara had a very tough time finding a job after graduating, and the terrible state of the economy didn’t help. Not wanting to move back in with her parents, Sara eventually went to a temp agency, desperate for any sort of job. Now she was starting at Terringer International’s headquarters, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of auto parts. Sara had barely heard of the company before starting, but did her homework before her first day.
The company was founded, run and owned by Mark Terringer when he was only 21 years old, 14 years earlier, spotting an opportunity in the market. During the 2000s, when most auto part manufacturers were focused on getting contracts with the domestic companies, Terringer International went overseas, and struck deals with the largest car manufacturers in Japan, South Korea, China and India. When the global financial crisis hit and domestic car manufacturers struggled, Terringer thrived.
Now Sara was working as an office assistant in Terringer’s accounting division. Sara figured the term was probably a catch-all generic term for the person who got coffee, made photocopies and generally helped out with whatever basic office stuff needed to be done.
Sara got into the elevator on the ground floor when she entered Terringer headquarters, who owned the entire skyscraper, 42 stories in the middle of Manhattan. She immediately noticed the tall, dark stranger behind her, with his jet black hair, expensive suit and eyes that looked like black pools that went down for miles. Sara secretly hoped he would get off with her, on the 15th floor, as one of the two people in the elevator had already pushed that button. “I’ve never met an accountant in my life who’s that good looking though, so I shouldn’t get my hopes up” she thought to herself, and sure enough, when the elevator reached the 15th floor, it was the short, plump, happy looking redheaded woman who got off with her. “Oh well” Sara thought to herself. “Maybe we’ll run into each other in the elevator again sometime.”
Sara promptly put the handsome stranger behind her as she introduced herself, met her boss Kathleen (who just so happened to be the happy, short, plump redhead) and started learning how things were done at Terringer International. Sara spent the rest of the day learning about her new responsibilities. She met most of the staff she’d be working with, trying to commit names and faces to memory, as well as learning how the gigantic photocopier/fax machine/scanner worked. She was shown the computer network and got a basic lesson as to how it worked, although she was assured she wouldn’t need to use it too much.
Finally, the day ended. Sara felt as though her head was full. It was definitely spinning. Despite only being a temp, everyone had been super nice to her. She was shown the company cafeteria where she could get lunch for free, the gym in the basement where she could work out after work, and even though she had no need for it, the daycare center on the first floor. Sara was already in love with this job, and it was only her first day.
Then again, Sara thought to herself, at her last job she had to serve food for minimum wage while her creepy boss stared at her chest every time he spoke to her, so almost anything was going to be an improvement on that.
Sadly, when she rode the elevator down to the ground floor, “Tall and Handsome” as she had nicknamed him, was not on it.
Two days later, however, Sara rode the elevator with Tall and Handsome once again, and twice again later in the week. She always dared a small smile to him, but never once got the courage to talk to him. He was probably around 10 years older than her, and while he looked friendly, Sara was naturally quite shy. She had a boyfriend or two in the past, but they had always made the first move, and it had always gone slowly from there. Sara did, however, start wearing slightly more revealing clothing to work to flaunt her body, and started spending even more time than usual in the company gym.
Sara came to love the secret encounters with Tall and Handsome. After a month of working at Terringer, she still had no idea where he worked, as he always went to a different floor when she got on the elevator, although never her own 15th. But, she still waited with anticipation every morning, lunch and evening when the elevator doors opened, hoping he would be there waiting for her. The more she saw him in the elevator, the more she wanted to speak to him, and the less her body would allow her to.
