I feel my cheeks heat and realize that I’ve never been given the opportunity to taste him. I tilt my head and watch him bustle about the kitchen.
“What are you thinking?”
“That I’d like to suck your cock.”
He stops with a lamb chop gripped in the tongs in his hand and his head whips up to gape at me. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” I shrug and take a bite of bread. “I’ve only done it once in my life, and I’d like to try it again.”
He sets the food on the countertop and braces his hands on the granite, watching me. “Right now?”
“Maybe after dinner. I’m hungry.”
His eyes are hot as he watches me. “Unless you want me to bend you over the breakfast bar, don’t bite your lip.”
I release my lip and lick it slowly where my teeth were buried in it.
“Damn it, Lo,” he whispers.
“What?”
He shakes his head and paces away, pulls the asparagus out of the oven, and plates our meal. “I have a permanent hard-on when I’m with you.”
“Is that bad?” I laugh.
“It’s new. It’s never been like this for me, and we’ve only just begun.”
Wow.
He smiles softly and gestures to the dining table. “Come on, sweetness, let’s eat so I can get you back to bed and bury myself in you for the rest of the night.”
“Maybe I’m tired.”
“You slept all day.”
“Maybe I’m sore.”
“We’ll soak in the tub for a while.” He frowns over at me as I join him at the table. “If you don’t want this, all you have to do is say no, Lauren.”
I grin and rise up on my toes to kiss his cheek. “I’m teasing you.”
He pulls me to him, wraps his arms around my middle, and buries his face in my hair. “You’re not funny.”
“I’m hilarious.”
CHAPTER
Eleven
“Why didn’t you call me Saturday night?”
Cary is furious as I sit across from him in his office. I should be working, and instead I’m here for a meeting late Monday morning. “There was nothing you could do, Cary.”
“It had to be Jack.”
I grin at him and shrug. “Obviously, but there is no proof. No prints, nothing left behind.”
“He’s such a prick. I’m sure the protection order pissed him off. Word has gotten around town, and I heard that he’s been suspended from work.” Cary shakes his head and leans back in his chair watching me. “Is Ty staying with you?”
I nod slowly, maintaining eye contact. “Is that a problem?”
“Nope, he’s not your attorney.” Cary rubs his fingers over his mouth, deep in thought. “Lo, I know that Jack roughed you up when you kicked him out in the beginning, and now he’s destroying your house. You never did tell us what he threatened to do to you that day at your house.”
I drop my eyes and bite my lip.
“I understand if it makes you uncomfortable to talk about it around Ty, but I’m your attorney, and I need to know what’s going on, Lo. Jack’s pissed off, and if he continues like this, he could really hurt you.”
I pull in a deep breath and push my fingers through my hair and blurt out, “He didn’t use the exact words, because he’s too clever for that, but he essentially threatened to rape me.”
“What the fuck?” Cary leans forward and slaps his hands on his desk.
“He just wanted to scare me.”
“I would have agreed with you last week, but he just destroyed your pool house, Lauren. He’s obviously not stable.”
“I have an alarm system on the house and Ty’s been staying with me.” Cary shakes his head and is ready to interrupt me. “Seriously, Cary, there’s nothing more we can do when we can’t prove that he’s done anything wrong.”
“I want everything documented from here on out. If he contacts you, you record it with your phone and you call me and Brad at the station.”
“Okay.”
“I mean it, Lauren. I don’t trust this asshole.”
“I agree.”
“It sounds like we’ll get a court date regarding the matter of the trust in November.”
“November?” I stand and pace about Cary’s small office. “Jesus, Cary, that’s a month away!”
“I know. We were lucky to get in then.”
A whole month of living like this will make me crazy.
“Keep Ty close by, your alarm set, and your eyes open, Lauren.”
“I will.” I check the time and grab my purse. “I have to go. I have an appointment.”
Cary stands and shakes my hand. “I’ll be in touch.”
