Two days later, I woke up my little pregnant siren with a kiss.
“Here, beloved. I got a special gift for us today.”
She smiled warmly and unwrapped the box. Inside the box was the frame she noticed before, but this time, it was a picture of us. I’d cherish this photo forever.
Epilogue
Three years later...
"Elena! Elena. Woman, where are you?" I called out walking into the house.
“I’m coming, Dex.” She came bouncing down the steps like she was about to burst with our next kid. Elena had on a tiny dress that hugged her breasts, pushing her cleavage into her throat and sending the blood away from my brain. It only went to mid-thigh and had a wavy bounce to it.
“What are you doing running down the stairs, and what the fuck are you wearing?” I asked in a roar. Shocked that she was had on a dress to begin with. I’d never seen her in one before. Being in public with her scars was too much for her, but I guess not anymore.
“I wasn’t running. I don’t think I have it in me. Besides, I thought you’d like it.” She actually seemed hurt.
“We’re not going out with you dressed like that. No, no, no.” I shook my head because that wasn’t going to fly.
“Is it because of my leg? Are the scars too ugly to take me dancing?” There came the paranoia. I had it on occasion too, but she hadn’t voiced her concern about her appearance in a long time.
“Fuck, no. You know I find you perfect. I just don’t want any other dick looking at you. And trust me, in that dress you look so sexy, no man would ignore it—especially every time you move.”
“I look like a whale.” Typical pregnant woman. I learned that they felt fat particularly around other women when they were carrying a kid. She was beautiful and would always be that way to me even if she kept the baby weight on.
“You sure as hell don’t. Men find a beautiful woman with curves like yours and a round pregnant belly sexy as fuck. It’s something in them. I read up on that shit the last time you were pregnant and I almost knocked the sales clerk on his ass.”
“He did tell me I was sexy, but I see the way women look at you like you’re food and they’re starving. Thirsty bitches.”
“Yeah, until they see the other side. Not that I care anyway. I didn’t find anything special in any woman until I met you. You’re the one and only. Besides, do you think we’ll get out of the limo with you dressed in that dress? I’ll have you on all fours fucking you all night.”
“I think that’s an excellent way to spend date night,” she suggested wagging her eyebrows at me.
“Yes, it is, but you wanted to go out without the kids. So Kim’s keeping them for us,” I reminded her, even though sex in the limo sounded fantastic.
“We’d have more date nights if we trusted more people with our kids.” Since my uncle had been convicted of solicitation of attempted murder and embezzlement, we haven’t been able to let people in our small circle. We had two boys within the first two years and this one was following the same schedule. It was like clockwork, so precise.
“Yeah, but the few that we trust have their own kids.” Cole became my friend over the years ever since the pictures in the park. I was still jealous when it came to him talking to Elena. Once he got married, then maybe I wouldn’t be jealous as much. He was the only one without kids and also didn’t have a clue on how to change diapers and shit like that.
“Okay, well let’s get going.”
“Are you going to change?” I asked her when she started moving toward the door.
“Nope.”
“Okay, I warned your ass,” I growled at her rubbing my hard-on against her ass.
“Whatever. Threatening dirty limo sex sounds so terrible. Should I just leave my panties here? I can’t have you shredding them all.”
“No smart ass, but you should keep a spare.”
“Got it covered,” she said pulling another pair out of her purse. Ha. I was just kidding but fuck it.
“Let’s get moving,” I said rushing her out the door.
“So how were the kids when you dropped them off?” I left her here to get ready while I dropped them off.
“They were great. Happy and ready for bed.”
“Good. Take me out, Mr. Price.”
“Gladly,” I said with a dirty grin. This night was only just beginning; although, I had a feeling that the only dancing we’d be doing would be horizontal.
