Ruined: Loving An Alpha Male(44)

By:S.K. Lessly

I was tired a little and quite winded. But the feeling of seeing worry in Max’s eyes and her touch afterwards did something to me. If it didn’t irritate me to get hit, I would do it more often just to get her to take care of me. She started the jetted bathtub for me when I got home. She iced my bruises and kissed all the places I told her hurt. Well, there was one place that didn’t hurt, but it missed her, and she took care of it too. Let me tell you, there’s nothing better than a woman willing to go down on you, and it’s even rarer that she’s skillful too.

I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about me. I don’t just think about Max in a sexual manner. We just don’t do anything except have sex all the time—all hours of the day and night. As I told you, I’m addicted to her. I’ve tried to give her space, but I still find myself wanting to be around her. So I sometimes stop by her job for a little while. I would also stop by her house and hang out with her and her roommates. Alex would tag along, of course, since a certain girl has been staying there and has been on his hit-it list.

She has been hitting the books hard. So I try to get in when I fit in, but she always makes time for me. The time we spend with each other alone isn’t an effort spent on entertaining each other. Maxine could be sitting on the couch studying while I’m at my desk working for hours. We don’t have to spend it talking. Hell I could be watching Sports Center—lounging on the couch—and she is sitting right next to me. We still don’t have to fill the silence. One thing though, if I’m close to her, I have to touch her somehow. But that’s about it.

The only issue I had was during one of the fight weekends. She hung out a little in the waiting room, but when Travis or one of his goons came in, she just up and left the room. That irritated me to no end. I texted her and told her to get her ass back in here quickly, or there will be a problem. I didn’t think she should be different around me because of Travis. I got her to loosen up a little in the training gym. She was required to kiss me when she arrived, and if she left before I did, no matter what I was doing, she had to kiss me when she left.

She walked back in later than I liked, and as she sauntered up to me, I showed her how pissed I was.

“Where did you go?” I asked her.

She sighed, “I was heading to my seat.”

I tilted my head. “Without wishing me luck?” I pulled her closer to me and gave her the tape for my hands. She sighed again and started taping me. “Are you running because of Travis?”

“Mason…” she started, but she didn’t complete her thought.

I could see the fear in her eyes, and it was all over her body. Alex caught my eye, and he shook his head. He knew where I was going, but he, as well as myself, could see how Travis affected her. As much as I didn’t like it, I kept my mouth shut and saved what I had to say to her afterwards. I was pissed though, and as always, I had a hard time hiding it.

When she was done with both my hands, I tested her work by punching my fists in my own hand. She did a great job, I had to say. She definitely knew what she was doing.

I asked her, “Are you going in the bleachers or sitting in my corner?”

She looked at me surprised. I honestly didn’t think I asked a shocking question.

“What? You think, because I’m pissed, I don’t want you around?”

She didn’t answer me for a second, and I assumed she was trying to figure out what to say.

She chose wisely and said, “I’m with you.”

I just nodded and placed my headphones on my ears as she sat down and started texting. I looked over at Travis’ brother and found him looking over in our direction. I held his gaze for a minute before I turned and looked over at Alex. Alex was looking over at Travis’ team as well, wondering probably the same as me: when was this going to come to a head? I’m not going to do or say anything to him about Max right now. I knew it wouldn’t be a pleasant conversation, but it needed to be had and soon.

When I finally made my way to the cage, she walked right behind me and in front of Alex. Alex knew exactly what I was feeling, and I knew he had my back looking out for her when I couldn’t. The fight didn’t last very long. Lou said this guy was good. But honestly, I couldn’t tell he had any real skill. I mean maybe he was okay compared to these other fighters. But I didn’t think he should be in the cage with me. It could have been because I was pissed off anyway and just wanted to get out of here…I’m not sure. Actually, I don’t remember much of the fight, to be honest with you. When I left the cage, Max looked at me funny. Alex chuckled, and Max, who was still getting used to me, just shook her head.
