Remember Me(19)

“I was thinking about it, but I can’t just show up at his place. I don’t want him to think I’m a stalker.” He looked down at the pan, stirring the ingredients together.

“I talked about you constantly. He’ll know your name even if he doesn’t know your face.”

Michael smiled at that. He was incredibly grateful to have the Sabbath brothers in his life. He felt as if he were part of their little family. He wasn’t homesick and he didn’t miss his family as much as he thought he would when he left Alaska because of these men.

“Go to his house, knock on the door, and introduce yourself. It’s that easy.”

“You think so, huh?” Michael chuckled as the doorbell rang.

He took the pan off the heat of the stove. Passing Damon at the kitchen table, he strode to the front door. Michael didn’t bother with the peephole. He unlocked the door and opened it wide. Michael’s mouth dropped open in surprise before the corners kicked up into a smile.

“Hi,” he said softly, noticing the polar bear necklace hanging around his mate’s neck.

Kenny stared at him for a moment in silence and Michael wondered what the young man was thinking. Was he scared? Did his height and weight intimidate the human? When Kenny’s eyes filled with tears, Michael’s heart broke into tiny little pieces. He opened his mouth, prepared to apologize. For what, he didn’t know. He just didn’t want to see his little mate cry.

As Michael stared at Kenny, he saw the exact moment when recognition set in.

“I remember you.” Kenny breathed out.

Michael stumbled back as if he’d been hit with a two by four. He was shocked stupid for a minute, unable to form a single sentence. He couldn’t believe it. Damon and Stephen both said that Kenny had no memory, but it seemed as though they were both wrong.

“You said I was your mate.” Tears dripped down the young man’s cheeks, snapping Michael back to reality. “You told me to remember you and I did, I do.” He nodded.

Reaching out, he cupped Kenny’s face and pulled the man into the house. “You are my mate,” he whispered before taking the man’s lips in a slow kiss.

Michael closed his eyes at the softness of his mate’s lips. He’d been dreaming about the man’s plump lips and now, he was actually kissing him. It was unbelievable. His mate’s wonderful scent surrounded him and Michael inhaled deeply, letting the smell of wildflowers and honey fill his head and invaded his lungs. His heart fluttered and filled with a love he’d never felt before. The mate bond was growing between them, tying them together.

Kenny was exactly where Michael needed him, in his arms.

Kenny placed his soft hands against Michael’s bare chest before moving them against his sides, and goose bumps broke out on Michael’s flesh as he shivered. His human then wrapped his arms around Michael, moving closer, connecting their bodies. Kenny melted into him as he opened his mouth. Michael explored, sliding his tongue over Kenny’s lips before he gently slipped between them. It was the sweetest kiss Michael had ever had, and he knew without a doubt that he wouldn’t be able to live without Kenny.

This was just the beginning.

The gentle kiss changed as his arousal grew. Their teeth clashed and their tongue danced in a synchronized battle before Michael had to stop. He wanted to get carried away and forget their surroundings but it was impossible. The front door was opened and Damon was only a few feet away, sitting in the kitchen. He didn’t want an audience.

When he pulled back, Kenny was breathing hard. He stared at the young man as he slowly opened his eyes. Michael could see that the human’s pupils were dilated, his cheeks flushed, and his lips swollen. He felt incredibly powerful, just seeing his mate’s reaction to a kiss. What would the human look like in the throes of passion? What sounds would he make? Would Kenny shout out his name as he climaxed?

“Thank you,” Michael said.

“For what?” Kenny asked, shaking his head.

He had no idea why Michael was thanking him. Was it for the kiss? Because he was more than willing to continue kissing the man, it wasn’t a hardship.

“For remembering me,” Michael said.

“I didn’t remember you when I woke up. I didn’t remember anything about that night. I came to the club to celebrate my twenty-first birthday and I met an older gentleman. I was drinking soda, but he brought me a mixed drink. I never thought that someone would drug me. I just…” He shook his head. Now that he had seen Michael, the memories were flooding back, and Kenny could remember each detail.

“I know,” Michael said sadly.
