Outlaw's Vow: Grizzlies MC Romance(158)

Clutching at his cut, I swung him around, threw the bastard at the wall like a shitty piece of furniture. Something cracked, but it didn't knock him out like I'd hoped. He yelled, tried to charge me, right as the rest of the clubhouse realized hell was coming down.

Everything exploded around us.

Asshole Beam crashed into my chest. He was a lean motherfucker, but he'd gotten enough leverage to knock me down flat.

We both hit the floor, fists swinging, snarling like feral animals, a death match surrounded in screams.

I grabbed his face and shoved it, hard enough to rip him off me, assuming I didn't crack his fucking skull first. Then his fingers connected with my jaw.

Blood flooded my teeth. I instantly knew the asshole smashed me in the face with brass knuckles – there was no fucking way any other bastard would bust my jaw this hard with his naked fist.

My arms wrapped around his back and felt for his spine. He wasn't just out to fight. He was going to fucking kill me if I slipped up. I had to fight, had to kill him first.

Asshole threw another punch, and I rolled my head just in time. His brass knuckles slapped the floor with a deafening bang, like a grenade exploding next to my ear, and I dug my fist into his goddamned vertebrae, pounding the same weak bone like a jackhammer.

Die. Die, you cheating, worthless sonofabitch.

I fucking wanted him to. But of course, I wanted to make him suffer first. Suffer good, hard, and long for putting his filthy paws all over my woman.

Too bad the brothers had other ideas. Before I could crack his spine, the asshole pulled away from me, like he was lifted up into the air by strings. Then it was like nine hundred pounds of bricks collapsed on top of me, knocking the air outta my lungs.

The bastards intervened, right when I had him where I wanted him.

“Let me the fuck up!” I growled, screaming with all my might. The pressure piled on top of me caused it to slip out like a whisper.

“No, goddamn it. Hold him tighter. Pin him the fuck down.”

“He's gonna kill somebody!”

I couldn't even make out who the hell was shouting. The voices all blurred together, Rabid, Brass, Asphalt, and Southpaw. All aligned against me to prevent me from snapping Beam in half.

They scrambled, directionless, forced to control the Enforcer who was supposed to be keeping their asses in line.

It took four mean bastards at full strength to keep my hands behind my back. Slowly, the pressure eased, and I got on my feet.

“Jesus, let him go!” Sally yelped, soon as she saw me. “He's bleeding!”

It was true. I'd been goddamned lucky not to lose a few teeth from Beam's punch. The blood kept coming, mixing with my spit, so fast and heavy I couldn't swallow it without getting sick.

I craned my head and spat on the ground. When I looked up, I saw Beam across from me, being held by several burly prospects. Hate blazed in the asshole's wounded eyes. I sent two blistering fireballs back at him outta mine.

“Piece of shit. You lost. Keep your goddamned dirty hands off my old lady, or I'll kill you next time for sure.”

“There isn't a ring on her finger yet, asshole,” Beam growled back.

The other guys stared at him like he'd flipped his shit. A couple seconds later, all eyes were on something else. Blackjack marched up the hall with his tough old fists at his sides.

“What the hell's going on here, boys? I've never heard a bash so quiet you could hear a glass shatter, and I've been to hundreds.”

“Caught these two brothers fighting over Sally, Prez,” Brass said, jerking my arm. “We stopped 'em just in time. They were gonna kill each other.”

“And I would've snapped his goddamned neck like a twig!” I shouted, spitting another bloody mess on the floor. “He tried to fuck with my old lady, Prez. Caught the bastard throwing her against the wall, and she was fighting him too.”

Blackjack swiveled to face Beam, a volcanic storm building in his features. “Is this true?”

Beam clenched his jaw, refused to say shit, even as the Prez got in his face.

After a minute, he cracked his lips and whispered. “The bitch wanted me before this asshole took her prisoner. I was only trying to make things right, Prez, find out how she really felt.”

“I didn't ask for any of it, you bastard!” Sally screamed. “I told you to keep your hands to yourself. You wouldn't listen. I didn't get two words out before you pinned me down, tried to cover my mouth. You tried to pull me into your room, alone.”

Blackjack's teeth flashed. He shook his head for about a second, and then his fist darted out, crashing against Beam's mouth so hard I heard bone crunch.

“You're a goddamned idiot, son,” he growled. “Are you seriously so new to this patch you don't realize another man's old lady is untouchable? Let's be clear – Sally's Off. Fucking. Limits.”
