Night Visits(27)

'I can hear your thoughts baby girl, maybe you want to tone it down a little since there's nothing I can do about it right now?'

This speaking telepathically was a hoot, the only drawback was that I couldn't read him the way he did me, but then again, if I understood correctly no no one could except apparently the children.

'I do promise to take you as soon as the battle has been won.'

I hope he's wearing that getup, helmet and all that armor, crap I’m making myself all hot and bothered..

His loud bark of laughter had many heads turning, they probably thought their fearless leader was cracking up, in the meantime I was red as a cherry because I realized he'd just heard that thought. Shoot, I'm going to have to learn how to keep my thoughts hidden.

Suddenly there came from out of nowhere a thunderous noise which proceeded from beyond the hill on the other side, it was as though they were in a hurry to get somewhere. Donovan had used the fore knowledge of the attack to set up an ambush; he'd drilled it into my head that he had the upper hand but I couldn't help the fear.

My pulse kicked up a notch as my heart started beating erratically.

'Steady Tamara, they'll never get anywhere near you. 'Ae Rak.' He growled the last word which I somehow translated to mean guard and suddenly a pack of wolfkind surrounded me closer.

I noticed that everything was still, there was hardly a sound as men moved into position, I found myself marveling at the perfect symmetry, the way they moved in sync with each other, like one knew what the other was about to do and followed.

Before the enemy came into view Donovan broke ranks and came to me, breaking through his men and the creatures that he'd taxed with guarding me, he stopped his steed next to mine.

"We will live out this day princess have no doubt, but before we go into battle, know that you are my heart, that I have loved you since before your first breath and I will love you always, know with a certainty Tamara Maglioni that none before has loved as I love you.'

So serious, he was so serious as he said that, it brought tears to my eyes, and then, "And later, when the battle is over, and our enemies have been vanquished, I will come to you, with the sweat of the battlefield, and the stamina of a lion and I will love you until you can take no more of me."

PUSSY "Well damn motherfucker it's like that?"

PUSSY ' You better blindfold those kids or knock their asses out tonight, warrior boy is

about to fuck the pink off this pussy, did you hear those sweet words, sweat and

battles and hungry cock, I'm in for a treat. Tell him to hurry up with

this killing shit I needs feeding, meow.'

Pussy has lost her damn mind again.

Donovan just smirked at me with that cocky look of his, "I'll deal with your pussy's hunger after the battle promise". He kissed me like just what he was, a soldier going into battle, before turning his horse around and heading back to his men.

As soon as the enemy came into view they were surrounded, their screams of outrage were overshadowed only by the sounds of clashing steel.

My vision was suddenly blocked by a wall of shields as the men guarding me enclosed me behind a metal wall of protection. I lost sight of Donovan and fought very hard not to call out to him, I knew he needed to stay focused to be safe. The kids were silent as if watching the goings-on somehow, and my sense of peaceful calm wrapped around me like a mantle once more.

The wolfkind were spread out around me and my guard, their hair stood on end as they set up a howling mantra that struck fear in the heart. My horse danced in place as suddenly a strange wind blew, and the tops of the trees seemed to dance before suddenly a barrage of arrows came flying through the air. It was then I understood the reason behind the shields as the guards raised them higher and the arrows were deflected

I could hear the noise of the fierce battle being fought around us and then there was a break in the line and finally I could see and what I saw took my breath away.

Donovan was off his horse and in the thick of things with one man, Rudolph at his back.

They fought as though in synchronization, when one moved the other shadowed him, but what caught my eye was the fierceness of Donovan’s countenance, I swear he looked ten feet tall and massive, his hair blowing in the wind as he fought with absolute concentration.

His arm movements were almost too fast for the eye to follow as body parts and limbs flew at the edge of his swords, as he wielded two with perfect precision.

As the wind shifted I heard his voice, it sounded almost like he was singing the way the cadence in his voice moved as he spoke, apparently he was baiting the enemy as he slaughtered them. I’m not sure why the sight of all that blood and mayhem wasn’t making me sick but I had no doubt it was the influence of my husband and children
