“I’m more than okay,” she says, a satisfied smile on her face.
“I’m really sorry, but I can’t control my wild urges around you. Give me a few minutes and then I’ll focus on you, slower this time.”
Chapter Ten
Ella
Gentle morning light wakes me up from my dreams. I stretch in the bed and yawn. I had sex with Jake Burns. I sigh and lay back down with a wide grin on my face. I lazily push the covers off me, and walk to the window. I’m sore between my legs, and my muscles hurt, even the ones I didn’t even know existed. I can’t believe how much stamina Jake has. He focused on every single part of my body, and almost killed me with so many orgasms. I finally succumbed to his charm yesterday. His kisses were too delicious, and I just couldn’t find any more excuses as to why we can’t be together. I realize now how much I missed the closeness two people share. It was unbelievable, and he was perfect. I pull the blinds up, and see the sun is shining bright. Nothing is prettier than a sunny winter day. I head to the bathroom and brush my teeth, before heading down to the kitchen to eat some breakfast. The memory of our magical night puts a smile on my face again. I touch my fingers to my swollen lips. We couldn’t stop kissing, even after the wonderful massage and hot sex. I then asked him to take me home because I have to go to work today and all my stuff is here, at my place. Besides, I don’t want to rush anything. I want to take things slow. Jake wasn’t pleased with me going home, but he still safely drove me to my place, and kissed me senseless before letting me go. Jake also has his training scheduled for today. He’s got a motorcycle waiting for him for the next season which needs another try out on the tracks. I still shudder every time I remember what he does for a living, but I try not to think about it too much. I grab my phone as I’m leaving my apartment, a new text already waiting for me.
Jake: I can still feel you on my fingers. I can’t wait to take you again.
I check the time—he must have sent the text right after he dropped me off at home. I grin because I miss him already, and can’t wait to see him. He managed to get inside my heart. I take my car keys and drive to Ace. I plan on going to the cemetery after work, and then to visit my parents. Sophie and Matt are busy making preparations for the wedding. Their biggest issue right now is finding the right band and venue for the wedding. Even though it’s only the beginning of February, all their favorite venues are already booked for summer. They’re searching for different options now. They want an outdoor wedding, and I really hope they’ll get their dream wedding. I promised Sophie I’d go buy a wedding dress with her. Besides, I’m her maid of honor, so this is my official duty.
“Hey, Anna,” I greet my co-worker as I enter. “How are you?”
“Ugh, I don’t know what’s going on today. Three paparazzi were standing in front of the salon when I got here. I guess they gave up because they just drove off five minutes ago.” We are used of press camping in front of our salon because of our high profile clients, and they always try to get new pictures to sell to tabloids. I shake my head; glad I didn’t have to deal with them. “Brett’s already waiting for you,” she points to the massage room I frequently use as my working space. I nod and prepare for work. Sometimes I wish Brett would find some other salon to get massages at because I’m getting tired of his endless attempts at flirting with me. Even though he’s a good person, I’m not attracted to him in any way.
“Hey, gorgeous. Nice to see you,” he greets me, already lying on the table. I say hi, and prepare my oils. Brett is completely naked, so I take a towel and cover his butt. He winks at me. I plaster a fake smile on my face and shake my head. A few minutes into the massage, he speaks again. “Are you finally going to take pity on me and let me take you out for a dinner?” Taking a deep breath, I carefully choose my words.
“Brett, you flatter me. Really. But as I already told you a hundred times, I have to turn down your invitation.”
“Ah, gorgeous, I’ll wear you down eventually, and you’ll say yes, just wait and see,” he teases me. You’d expect he would be offended after being rejected so many times, but it only increases his motivation.
After work, I get into my car, and drive to the cemetery. I park in the parking lot and head through the gate, walk past some graves, and stop at the tombstone with Josh’s name on it. During the drive, I made a quick stop to buy him flowers and a candle. I stand in front of his grave for a while, like I’ve been doing for the last two and a half years. Time passes by so quickly, sometimes I think like it was only yesterday that he last hugged me and told me he loved me, but the cruel reality sets me back on the firm ground the very next moment. I kneel down to replace the candle that has already burnt out, with a new one. I take the wilted flowers from the vase, and put in fresh ones that smell wonderful.
