My Son(53)

By:Marie Kelly

Smiling back, he had taken her hand before leading her back to where the table had been, the area now converted into an impromptu dance floor, the waiter having disappeared down below. From speakers hidden from sight, soft music had played and small fairy lights twinkled in the darkness.

Taking her into his arms Marc had begun to gently move with her making Kelly sigh once more with complete contentment.

“Wow” she said softly against his neck

“If this is how you date your lady friends Marc, then it’s no wonder you’re so popular” she said with a soft smile

“Actually” he replied “You are the very first person I have ever done this with”

For some reason this answer making her very happy indeed.

They had danced and sipped their wine happily for several more hours before the yacht had once again docked and they had disembarked. The car was again there to meet them and as they sat in the plush exterior of the large car she had sighed with pleasure

“Thank you Marc….. I had a really good time”

He had smiled back at her, his eyes soft and thoughtful as they looked down.

When they reached the villa both walked together up the stairs, stopping on reaching Kelly’s door. Holding her breath in anticipation, she had felt the heavy surge of disappointment, as he had lifted her hand holding it between them, before softly and slowly his lips had brushed against her fingers, causing small shiver to run along her spine, her eyes closing momentarily. She had looked deeply into his black ones not fully aware of the fire that burned so deeply within hers, aware only of how his had been hooded, dark and impenetrable

“Good night Kelly” he whispered huskily, gently releasing her hand and stepping back.

“Goodnight,” she said softly opening the door to her room before moving into it. As she closed the door she had been aware as he stood watching her, before turning, he began moving back towards his own room.

That night she was restless, as she lay moaning in her bed unable to get the whole evening out of her mind. It had been perfect, and she had realised that she had wanted so much to kiss him. Groaning she was aware that he had prevented her from doing so by lifting her hand, once again proving that he had someone else providing these services for him. Kelly could feel the tears running down her cheeks. Finally she had to admit that her feelings for Marc where never going to disappear. She had fallen completely in love with him and she was slowly being torn apart inside, as with each day her feelings grew stronger.

CHAPTER TWELVE

It was almost a week since she and Marc had talked in the living room, and they were once again preparing to spend time with Max, this time staying at home and spending the day in the pool. The phone had rung and Marc, laughing at Max, who was now toddling everywhere looking similar to what he had referred to as a drunken midget, had answered it

“Hello” he began

Kelly looked on in interest, noticing that he had deliberately turned away from her, his body stiffening

“Phil how was London” she heard him say, his voice friendly

There was silence for a while as his friend no doubt filled in the blanks of his business trip

“Tonight?” she heard Marc saying

“Look forward to it”

After another second he had hung up, taking a second before turning to her. While his face was smiling, Kelly had caught something in his eyes, a look which seemed hard, making her look back at him in puzzlement.

“That was Phil. Says he’s coming around tonight at 9 ish….some big thing to tell us”

Softly adding

“Any idea what?”

Kelly had dropping her gaze and moved over to pick up Max

“I’m sure Phil will let us all in on it” she said softly “You know him”

Behind her Marc had watched pensively while she busied herself with the youngster, a thoughtful but determined look in his eyes.

That evening at 9.30, as the doorbell rang Marc had been the first to reach it. Kelly standing at the door of the study watched him open it to his friend.

“Phil…good to see you” he cried affectionately, stopping suddenly as Theresa had appeared beside him

“Theresa” he cried confusion suddenly filling his voice, giving Kelly a quick look, he had beckoned the two of them in.

“It’s good to see you” he smiled with real pleasure as she flushed slightly

“Good to see you too Marc” she replied before smiling broadly at Kelly who had appeared at Marc’s side as he had beckoned the two of them into the living room, dispensing drinks to the group.

“So how have you been” he asked Theresa warmly “missed seeing you around”

She had smiled at the obvious sincerity of his voice
