Mixed into Love (Bachelorette Party #3)(19)

By:Rochelle Paige

Laughter filled his hazel eyes. "I get that you were a virgin, but you had to know that with as much come as I've shot into your pussy you were bound to get pregnant eventually."

I rolled my eyes at him because, of course, I knew I could get pregnant with all the sex we'd been having. But, was he saying what I thought he was saying?

"Have you been trying to get me pregnant?"

"Of course I've been fucking trying."

Oh.

My.

Goodness.

How in the heck hadn't I figured it out myself when he'd never so much as said the word "condom" around me?

"You know that's kind of, sort of, absolutely insane, right?"

He raised his eyebrows and shot me a look that clearly meant he didn't give a damn. "Is it any crazier than buying a bar the night I met you because I wanted you to have the week off so you could spend it with me?"

"Yeah, I guess when you put it that way," I sighed. But then I thought about it for a moment and changed my mind. "Except, owning Club Cache doesn't have to be a permanent thing. You can always sell it to someone else if you don't want it anymore. But I'll always be your baby mama if I'm pregnant. There won't be any going back from that."

His arms banded around me tightly, as though he thought I was going to try to get away from him. "You won't be my baby mama. You'll be my fucking wife."

"Wife?" I squeaked.

"Yes," he hissed.

"Are you telling me you want to marry me or asking me to marry you?"

"Fuck," he groaned. "I do have a habit of telling you things, but I guess in this instance I should probably ask, huh?"

The sudden lump I felt in my throat made it hard to speak, so I nodded.

"Don't move," he ordered before shifting me off his lap and onto the cushion next to him. Then he got up and disappeared down the hall that led to the bedrooms. I heard a drawer slam shut and his footsteps as he returned. When he reached the couch again, he didn't sit back down. Instead, he dropped to a knee in front of me and opened his clenched fist.

"Holy crap!" I gasped at the sight of the five-carat, emerald-cut diamond, set on a platinum band with baguettes flanking it on either side. It was resting in the palm of his hand. There wasn't a fancy jewelry box, just the ring. Not that it needed one-the ring was stunning all by itself. "You bought me a ring?"

My eyes filled with tears, blurring my view of the prettiest thing I'd ever seen in my life. It didn't stop me from seeing Dane's eyes flare as he slid it onto my finger. "Of course I bought you a ring. A guy doesn't propose to the woman he loves without giving her an incentive to say yes."

I dropped my hand down to my lap. As gorgeous as the ring was, it paled in comparison to the man kneeling in front of me and the way he was looking at me. "You love me?"

"Enough with the parroting shit, Addilyn," he growled. "I want you to be pregnant. I want you to marry me. And I love you. None of this should come as a surprise to you. Not unless I'm doing something wrong and making you doubt me."

"No!" I cried, covering his lips with my index finger. "You're amazing. Perfect. You just never said the words, and I didn't want to assume. Cut me a break, okay? I'm totally new to the whole relationship thing."

I slid my finger lower and rubbed his bottom lip. His tongue swept out to lick me, making me shiver even though I yanked it away.

"Love isn't a strong enough word for what I feel for you, baby. I'm sorry I didn't say it sooner, but I thought you knew."

"I love you, too," I blurted out. "I didn't say it either, but the feelings were there all the same."

"Baby, I've known you loved me from the moment you gave me your virginity."

I slugged him on his shoulder and winced at the unexpected pain in my hand. I hadn't hit him that hard.

"Crap!" I yelped, twisting my wrist around to peer at my ring and make sure I hadn't damaged it. "I forgot about the rock you slipped on my finger when I wasn't looking."

"Like you forgot to tell me yes?"

Whoopsie, I guessed I hadn't given him an answer. "Yes, Dane. I'd love to be your wife." He beamed a smile at me, and I couldn't resist teasing him. "Even though you forgot to ask me."

"What can I say? One way or another I was going to make you my wife."

"Then I guess I didn't need to bother saying yes," I laughed.

"Now that we've got that all squared away, how about you go pee on a stick and find out if we're going to have a baby."
