LLucy’s Revenge(Divine Creek Ranch 15)(96)

They lay there, still joined for some time afterward, panting and trembling. The scent of passion mingling with jasmine and vanilla filled the air. He finally released her shoulders and clasped one of his hands with hers, as he tilted them to their sides so she could breathe easier. She stayed still, knowing how much he enjoyed lingering after making love, buried deep inside her. His other hand rested on her hip, stroking and petting her. He whispered, “You are so precious to me, little tiger. Thank you.”

Chapter Sixteen

By the time Lucy arrived at Seth’s house on the Saturday morning of the Republic of Texas Bike Rally, the day was already promising to be a hot, humid one. Jayne gasped when she answered Lucy’s knock on their door before dawn. “You look fantastic!” she softly said as she stepped out of the way so Lucy could enter.

Smoothing her hand over the front of the corset, Lucy giggled and said, “I could say the same thing about you.”

Jayne was dressed in a gauzy red sundress that skimmed her curves and accentuated the red highlights in her hair. In a conspiratorial whisper, she said, “Dad still isn’t reconciled to the fact his daughter has a tattoo. We thought it’d be better to not poke the bear so I’m wearing this right now and I’ll change once we get to the Expo Center.”

“What are you changing into?”

Jayne gave her a lopsided smile. “You’ll see when we get there.”

Toby was staying with Jayne’s mother and father who were down for a visit, so that Jayne could help promote Seth’s work at the rally.

Because Seth needed to bring all of his gear with him, the three of them were riding out to Austin in his truck. His Harley was also loaded in the back of his vehicle but he wasn’t sure if he’d be riding it or not. His left hand, while fully healed, was still bothering him sometimes in the evening. She wouldn’t be surprised if he decided to not ride in the parade loop that would start after sunset once all the kids were gone from the rally grounds. After dark was strictly for adults only.

Lucy thought of her men as the miles stretched out in front of them. The night before, she’d gone with the guys and PJ to see a movie after supper. It had been a fun evening and they’d invited her to come home with them afterward. She had, and once PJ had gone to bed they’d fooled around.

Making love with them was addictive. Sometimes the passion was white hot and rough. Other times it was gentle and sweet. It was always satisfying. She liked the way they kept her guessing. Beck liked pushing her limits and teasing her. Patrick liked calling the shots and she loved doing what he wanted.

Knowing that she needed to get an early start, she hadn’t stayed the night with them even though they’d asked. Leaving to come home had felt odd and she’d spent the rest of the evening contemplating the emptiness she felt.

She liked her little house, but she liked being with them more. She loved seeing their sleepy faces in the morning, showering with Patrick and Beck before work, and making happy-face pancakes for PJ. Her days felt so fulfilled now that they were a part of her life..

She shook her head, fighting the melancholy she’d fallen asleep with the night before, missing them. They hadn’t complained, or grilled her anymore about the ROT Rally or her choice of attire for the event. Only said that they’d see her when they arrived.

The interstate traffic was light but they noticed more bikers than normal on the highway as they rode into the state capitol later that morning. Lucy helped her brother get his equipment, supplies, and displays all set up while Jayne hurried to change.

She was talking to a couple who were interested in getting matching tattoos when Seth let out a long, appreciative whistle.

A big, burly biker nearby murmured, “Holy shit. Who does she belong to?”

Foot traffic stopped around the booth as Jayne came into view, walking down the long aisle, stomping all-to-hell anyone’s notions about what a reserved, small-town librarian looked like beneath her badass red leather high-heeled sandals.

Jayne was clad in a sleek red two-piece leather outfit. The top was a halter that left her midriff and back bare except for the strap in back. The hip-hugger pants looked like they’d been sprayed on her curves, they fit so snugly. The outfit showcased her extensive rose tattoo which extended from her right upper ribcage beside her breast, diagonally across her midriff to her left hip. Like Lucy’s skirt, the side seams of her butter-soft pants were split all the way down and held together with crisscrossing drawstrings, revealing a two inch strip of bare flesh from her hips to her ankles. The opening revealed that her rose tattoo extended to her upper thigh. Elegant poetic script twined throughout the design.
