Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. “Sorry. If it bothers you, I’ll stop. But since it’s the weekend and this is normally when I act as a little girl, I decided I would see how it felt acting like a little in front of people who I knew were in the lifestyle.”
“Oh. So you wouldn’t continue doing this in front of strangers?”
“Right. That would be embarrassing. But, since you, Robert, Joey, Jackson, and Meghan all play in the lifestyle, it’s easier for me to continue acting little.”
What she said did make sense. Earlier, I’d been so set against acting as my little self. But, if Samantha was doing it, it wouldn’t be so bad. Besides, what’s the worst that can happen?
“Okay… maybe I’ll try it too!”
“Hooray! I have a friend to play with! Joey do you want to act little too?” Samantha asked, as we both turned towards him.
“I… ummm…” He blushed and turned away from us, walking over to the toy chest.
Samantha and I both giggled and turned back and watched the fish swim. They were so cool.

Before I knew it, Robert was calling us down for lunch.
The three of us raced downstairs and we all had a good time laughing, talking, and eating. After lunch, Joey, Samantha, and I went into the living room to watch TV while Robert, Jackson, and Meghan cleaned up the kitchen.
“Are you guys getting excited for Valentine’s Day?” Samantha asked, as Dora the Explorer began.
“Oh no! I completely forgot!” I said, smacking myself in the head. After all Robert had done for me, how could I forget Valentine’s Day?
“I am. I made my mommy some neat picture frames. Then, as my wife, she’ll have roses delivered to her at work and I got her some new… a new outfit and diamond earrings,” Joey said, smiling like a fool.
“Did you get Jackson anything yet?” I turned to ask Samantha. I was starting to feel bad. What kind of a girlfriend am I if I can’t even remember Valentine’s Day?
“Yeah! I drew him some pictures of us. Then for later, I got him his favorite milk chocolate candies and an expensive watch that I’ve known he’s wanted for a while.”
“That’s nice,” I said as I began to panic. Sure, Robert and I had only been dating since New Year’s, and that was just about a month in a half. But I knew him. He was going to go all out for me. I had to get him something nice. What should I get him?
“Hey, you okay, Juliana?”
I shook my head. “I-I don’t have anything for Robert. What do I get him?”
“Make him something. All mommies and daddies love when they get homemade stuff,” Joey said.
I could do that. I liked making crafts. “But what do I get the adult him?”
“Anything you think he’ll like. You could get him a watch or maybe buy some new lingerie for yourself and surprise him,” Samantha said.
“Yeah, I guess that’s a good idea. I’ll have to think about it.” I leaned back on the couch and settled in to watch TV. I let out several more yawns as we were watching Dora the Explorer. I couldn’t help myself. I was tired.
“What’s wrong, Juliana?” Samantha asked.
“Nothing. I’m just a little sleepy,” I said, rubbing my eyes, trying to wake myself up.
“Me too. I’m used to getting my afternoon nap right about now,” she said, yawning as well.
“Nap? No, I don’t take those,” I hated naps. They took forever and who wanted to stop what they were doing in the middle of the day to sleep?
“You should. My daddy says they’ll make me grow up big and strong.”
“No, they won’t.”
“Yes, they will.”
“No, they won’t!”
“Yes, they will!” she shouted, then stood up and raced out of the living room. I didn’t know what she was up to and decided to ignore her. She was crazy if she thought nap times were a good thing. I settled back in to watch the end of Dora the Explorer.
Joey and I were still watching TV when Robert and Meghan came into the room.
“Joey, can I talk to you for a second?” Meghan asked.
He nodded and got up from the couch and walked over to her. They spoke in hushed tones for a minute and then left the living room.
“What’s going on?” I asked as Robert led me out of the living room and upstairs into his bedroom. I noticed that Jackson was leading Samantha into my nursery.
“It’s nap time, sweetie,” he said in a soft tone, closing his door behind us.
“No! Come on! I’m not even tired!” I whined. I really didn’t want to take a stupid nap.
“Samantha just came to me and told me you kept yawning while you, she, and Joey were watching TV. Do I have to remind you what happens to little girls who lie to their daddies?”
