Kwame & Kyhanna(20)
"Hold up is that yo' boo pulling up?" Tameeka asked.
"It sure look like it. Wait a minute, that's Kwame."
Kwame pulled up to the curb with a huge smile on his face.
"Good morning ladies."
"Good morning babe. What are you doing here? I thought I wouldn't see you until later."
"I know but I wanted to surprise you and give you a ride to school. No lady of mine is gonna ride any other way. I'm giving you a ride too Tameeka. Get in." Kwame offered and he hadn't even finished his statement completely and Tameeka's ass was already in the back seat.
"I swear I'm gonna kill Ahmad! He ain't never done anything like this for me before."
"Hush Tameeka." I shook my head knowing that she had a real attitude thinking about her dude and all the stuff he doesn't do.
"Kwame you need to talk to Ahmad and give him some lessons. This nigga need to take notes."
"Tameeka I can't speak for no one but myself. This is just how I roll. I go all out for the ones I care about." Kwame looked over at me and winked. He reached over and grabbed my hand and continued to drive with his free hand. I looked back at my girl who couldn't contain her excitement.
"That's what the hell I'm talkin' bout! I swear I love y'all already. Relationship goals for real." Tameeka replied and Kwame smiled looking in my direction. It felt good to have someone that thought enough about me to come and make sure I had a ride to school. Even though I had already had a ride he felt like it wasn't good enough. We hadn't even been together but a minute and he was already looking out for me. He had looked out for me more than people who had been in my life the entire time.
When Kwame pulled up at our high school, it felt as though all eyes were on us. Kwame pulled up close to the entrance and then parked the car. He got out and opened our car doors for us. I went to walk away from him and he gently grabbed my hand pulling me back to him. He got real close to my face and then leaned in and kissed me.
"I missed those lips. Since we have an audience may as well give them something to really talk about. I'll be here waiting when you get out." Kwame walked around to his side of the car, got in and drove off.
"What have you done to that nigga? You got Kwame open sis." Tameeka gushed.
"Do I?" I asked and had to laugh because she had spoken what I had already been thinking.
"Bitch, you already know. Quit acting like you don't."
I shrugged my shoulders. The way I had Kwame I felt like he had me the same exact way. I was slowly falling head over hills for him and there wasn't anything I could do about it. The only thing I could do was let the necessary occur and just let it happen.
Tameeka and I started walking toward the building but Patrice and her two flunkies were standing there looking like they had just heard that the Golden Corral just closed down. Patrice stood in the middle of the entrance looking like a water buffalo. Since the other two entrances were locked in the morning this was the only way we could walk in school. I could tell my best friend had started to grow irritated the closer and close we got to where they were.
"Can you please move Patrice? I really don't feel like kickin' ya ass today."
"So what the fuck y'all getting out of Kwame's car for? Y'all bus broke down or something?" She asked as her and her girls shared a laugh.
"Naw. My girl's man gave us a ride to school." Tameeka said knowing that her words wouldn't do anything but piss Patrice all the way off.
"Excuse me … what did you say?"
"Bitch, you heard me. Khyanna's new man Kwame gave us a ride to school. For you to have a such a smart ass mouth you sure can't hear." I watched Patrice as she became completely bothered by what my girl had told her and to watch this shit unfold was priceless.
"There's no way Kwame can be with her when he's still with my cousin sweetie."
"Girl please … Charmaine is old news right along with that tired ass bird's nest you call a weave. Now move before you get embarrassed hoe."
Tameeka stared Patrice down until she finally stepped to the side so we could walk in the building.
"Just wait until I tell Charmaine this shit."
"You can tell her whatever you want. I don't care. Come on Tameeka."
"See I told you these hoes would be mad but oh well … you can't help who Kwame wants and it's clear that he wants you."
"Clearly."
"I'll see you later." Tameeka said as we walked down opposite ends of the school.
Before I knew it the bell was ringing and school was over which had me excited since that meant my boo was coming to pick me up. I'd been looking forward to Kwame and I spending time together. I was on my way walking out of the building when Malik spotted me walking and made his way over to me. I rolled my eyes. I wanted him to know that his very presence annoyed me.
"Don't be happy to see me." He said fishing for some sort of compliment but I was still pissed off at him from the party. I basically had nothing to say to him.
"I'm not. What do you want?" I asked.
"Oh so you have an attitude or something."
"Wow. You're very smart. Damn right I have an attitude. You acted like a complete fool at your brother's party and all I was trying to do was come and have a good time. I really have no words for you."
"Well you're being a complete fool and don't even realize it."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" I said as I crossed my arms across my chest. Malik was beginning to be as annoying as gum on the bottom of my Jordan's. He made me sick.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Getting all caught up with Kwame when all he's gonna do is hurt you. You're not thinking Kyhanna. I can't believe you're throwing away what we have to chase behind that."
"Malik what is it to you? We are not together at all and what I choose to do is none of your business." I replied. I could see Kwame pulling up to the school in my peripheral vision and I didn't want it to be another altercation between them so I kept it moving and walked straight down the sidewalk to his car all the while Malik stood there shaking his head. When I got in his car I could tell Kwame was on ten.
"Does this nigga still have a problem? Cuz I can fix it real quick." Kwame offered and kept his car in park like he would jump out the car at any minute and check Malik. Kwame had pure rage in his eyes.
"Chill babe. He's cool. He's annoying as hell but he's cool."
"A'ight ‘cuz you don't know but I'll catch a body over you. I mean that shit from the bottom of my heart."
"I believe you. So I had an interesting run in with this girl named Patrice today and she informed me that there is no way you and I can be together because you're still rockin' with your baby mom Charmaine."
"I swear I can't stand Patrice messy ass. Naw, truth is we not rocking at all on any levels. We been done for a minute and what you saw at the party was the beginning of the end for what we had. The only reason why she was still around was because she's the mother of my son. Ever since she showed her ass at Quis party I haven't seen her or my son. Since then I've officially ended things with her. So regardless of what anybody say I am done with her. She'll have people thinking that we still together and all in love but shit between us been dead ma."
"So there's nobody else you rockin' wit but me?" I asked and although I know that was super bold of me to ask him I felt like I needed to know the truth,
"Nope. Since the day we made it official that's it. I don't need anybody else."
Kwame took a hold of my hand and wouldn't let it go and feeling how strongly he held on to it I knew he meant it.
"So today is all about you. What do you wanna do?"
"Ummm how about we just chill and go back to your place. We can watch some movies."
"We can definitely do that. Let's go and grab some Foster's and a couple Red box or something."
"Cool." I leaned back in my seat and enjoyed the ride as Kwame blasted Meek Mill and rapped along with every word as if he was in the middle of performing a concert. I couldn't help but giggle as I watched him really get into his music. He looked over at me and noticed I was laughing.
"I know I look silly rapping but I can't help it. Meek Mill is my shit!" Kwame laughed. When we pulled up to Foster's, he told me I could stay in the car while he went in and got us some food.
"Bay, lock the doors while I'm inside. I don't play with these dudes over here."
