He laughs, “Easy babe, that shit isn’t your average Mary Jane.”
He lays me back down onto my back while looking down at me. I am almost certain I’m high enough, my heavy eyes giving me away.
“You got me at Metallica,” I whisper, looking deep into his eyes. I see something flash over his face before he replaces it with one of his mischief grins, “You impress me, you know?” he chuckled, taking another puff as the song kicks up beat. “Not many girls know and appreciate good old school rock; they all listen to new trash on the radio.”
I nod in agreement before propping my head onto my hand so I’m facing him sideways.
“Right, I feel the exact same way. My dad had me listening to Guns & Roses as a new-born baby apparently, my mom said that he used to use it as my lullaby,” I reply while taking the joint back off him, so I can assault my throat again with another puff of the strong ganja.
“Which song did he play you?” he asks. I look to him, blowing out a large cloud of smoke. Anyone would think you were a pro; slow it down Snoop Lion.
“Don’t Cry,” I reply, smiling at the memory of how my great my dad was— until he started dating a girl I went to school with.
“Nice, it’s a good song,” he says, putting out the rest of our illegal substance before jumping into bed with me. I realise that I’m a lot more tired than I thought.
“Will Kalie be okay? Ade isn’t a serial killer?”
He pulls me under his arm, laying kisses on my head. It means nothing Vicky, don’t think into it.
“How many do you get before it's classed as ‘Serial killer?’”
I shove him in the chest. “That’s not funny, but I’d say around five.”
He laughs, “Then no, he’s not a ‘serial killer’.”
I relax a little until he adds, “He’s much worse.”
I shoot up off the bed. Hearing him sigh, I turn to face him; but before I can say anything, he beats me to it.
“Babe, Ade’s a good person— under all the alpha-domineering-caveman shit. He obviously has some weird shit going on for your friend that I’ve never ever seen, and I’ve known Ade since we were in diapers. Chill.” He pulls me back down under his arm. “Get some sleep.”
I relax into his big warm arms; and it's not long before I drift off into sleepy darkness.
Tall girl problems
“Noooo, stoooop!” I exclaim, waving my hand around my face. I hear a deep chuckle and remember where I am. “Blake, shut the curtains. So not cool.”
“Get up baby; I got some shit to sort and Kalie’s here.” I shoot up off the bed.
“Where is she?” Fuck, I hope she's okay.
“She’s in the lounge. I put my number in your phone, text me when you get home.”
I look at him while swiping my hair out of my face in an unladylike way. Who am I kidding; there’s not a ladylike bone in my size 6 body.
“Is this going to be weird? I mean, I know you guys live in West Beach—” he cuts me off. “No, not at all,” he says, pulling me in for a kiss. “Text me, yeah?”
I nod. “Yep, will do.”
He starts to walk out the door; and I’m still perving at his ass when Kalie walks in.
“Shit, are you okay?” I ask her. She blushes bright red and my face goes serious.
“Oh shit…” Fucking bikers. “Kalie! A hot as fuck biker plays the caveman card on you and you give it up the first night?” She laughs while flopping onto the bed with me. I continue,
“Poor ex-boyfriend, slumming it for years and he never gets any, but Ade-bad-boy-biker comes along and suddenly your panties disappear!” By this point, she’s in fits of laughter.
“I know, I’m a terrible person; but oh my god, Vicky!” she says, her eyes drifting off into dreamland.
I look over to her and ask, “That good huh?” as I begin to gather up my stuff.
“Really, really good. Shit.”
“You going to see him again?”
She looks down to her hands and says, “Um, I don't know. I think it was just a one night thing.” Not a good sign.
“That okay with you?”
She looks up to me, “Yep, yeah that's cool.” I can see it is definitely not; Kalie can lie through her mouth, but her eyes tell a thousand stories. The girl is deep, and she’s not cut out for the complications that come with sex.
“Alright then, let’s go and get some lunch.”

Sitting at the local beach lunch bar, I order bacon, eggs, pancakes and waffles.
Kalie looks over to me. “No fair Vick, just because your weight goes nowhere. Some of us have to actually watch what we eat.”
