Intricate Love (Sinful Souls MC #2)(22)
“I don’t know, I guess it's not serious; that's why I hadn't told you earlier,” I smile at her. God, there is so much I want to tell this girl.
“Well, spill woman; I’m not going to wait forever!”
“Not much to spill really. His name is Blake, he’s sexy, funny and all things nice; but he also comes with a crazy ex-girlfriend, fucked up past and commitment issues. He’s made it clear we can’t be anything more, I'll just have to live with it,” leaving out the fact that he owns a swingers bar, and that I had two different threesomes with him while I was away.
“What the fuck?” Jesse spits, with anger written all over his face.
“Jesse calm down, what we had wasn’t serious and you knew that,” I say, rolling my eyes at his outburst.
“Well alright, aside from this little blast that I heard now, which by the way, I expect to hear about,” Alaina points at us both. “When can I meet him?” I look over to her, taking another drink of my beverage. “This weekend— I think. He is part of the ‘Sinful Souls’ motorcycle club, they’ll be back this weekend.” Jesse scoffs.
“Oh, real classy Vicky.” I turn my attention to him, ready to rip into him.
“Shut up, Jesse. You don’t know shit.”
He laughs while taking another drink, “I don’t know shit? You don’t know shit Vicky, you’re fucking blind! You can’t see a good thing when it’s sitting right in front of your face.” Throwing my head back, I laugh, “What, you’re the ‘good thing’? No, Jesse. Never.”
He shakes his head angrily. “I can’t wait to meet him,” Alaina confirms, bringing my attention back to her.
“I’m going to go, thanks for the invite Lain.” Jesse replies, making his way out the door. Fucking dramatic. “Oh Jesse, don't be like that—” Alaina says a little too late, because he slams the door on his way out. She looks over to me, with one of her perfectly arched eyebrows raised. “You couldn't tell him before? Instead of spilling it out in the open?”
I pick up my plate and make my way to the sink. I am so over this day, and so ready to see my sexy biker man even though he is not actually mine; a girl can dream.
“No, he needs to get it Lain. I told him, just casual, but like a ‘grade A clinger’, he got too attached.” She picks up her plate and comes to help me with the dishes.
“In his defence though, I've heard you between these walls and I don't blame him.”
I laugh and whip her on the ass with the tea towel. “Shut up!” I pause for a second.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to make it out this weekend, I’ll see how I go.”
“Because your mysterious man is coming?” she asks, wiggling her eyebrows.
“Precisely. He’s just, oh man. And the men in his club? Oh my god. I wanted them all.”
She laughs, knowing what I am like. “How was Kalie?”
“She was good, but that’s a long story, and I’m tired,” I wink at her, putting down the dishcloth. A few minutes later, we make our way to bed.
Impulse actions
After my shower, I fire up my laptop and begin to get started on some early preparations for tomorrow. Who would pick political science? Oh wait, I did.
I am two hours into my study when I get a text. I pick up my phone and see Blake’s name across the screen, setting off a million butterflies in my tummy.
Blake: Almost there babe.
A rush of emotions start pulling at me as the idea sinks in that I am going to see him any minute.
Me: I’ll meet you outside; it’s too hard to explain how to get here.
Pulling on my yoga pants with my WBC T-shirt, I make my way down stairs while putting my hair into a high ponytail. I hear the bikes before I see them, I swear that sound is like music to my clit. The sound cuts off when I reach the doors. Pushing them open, I see Blake sitting on his bike, pulling off his helmet with a wide smile sitting on his lips. I run straight into his arms; jumping on him, wrapping my legs around his waist and kissing him like I hadn’t seen him in a century. “Hey baby,” he says, his deep voice pulling all sorts of strings deep in my soul. “Hey, how was your trip?” I ask, stepping back so he can actually get off his bike. Me and my damn impulsive actions. I think for a second that maybe I took that too far.
“Long, because all I wanted to do was see you.” he replies, pulling me back into him, grabbing my ass. Mmmm, this is exactly where I want to be. I see Zane roll his eyes.
“Come on, Romeo & Juliet. You coming or not?” he asks, looking right at me, obviously wanting to get out of here. He’s scary when he’s serious. “I can’t, I’ve got so much to sort out for tomorrow.” Did I mention that being a student sucks? I look up to Blake and see he’s clenching his jaw. I bring my hand up, running it over his jaw and down his neck; I’m waiting for him to pull away from me, but he doesn’t. The thought alone makes my insides jump up and down. “Do you guys want to come up?” I ask, looking into Blake’s eyes, which I haven’t been able to do very often because they are filled with so much raw, complicated emotion that it knocks me on my ass. “Yeah babe, we can do that,” he smiles down at me, running the back of his hand down my cheek. My face pushes up against his touch instantly; it’s a sweet gesture that leaves me feeling a little confused. Before I can explore those feelings, the front doors slam open again, revealing my half-asleep best friend. I giggle because she looks cute.
